I can’t believe the drama here over a show that is on the low end of the ratings pole. I mean, it probably has a cult following, but there shouldn’t be so much negativity, from either side.

Wonder if we’ll see the last of Malibu Country next week.

I feel so sad for people that their lives are so pointless that the only joy they get out of it is cheering when a show they do not like does bad. I would normly say just do not watch the show why does it matter to you? but I would hate to take away the last thing they have in their lives that seems to be important. Now if you will excuse me I am going to go live my full happy life now.

  • Lucas

I really don’t get it. Haters keep saying: “cancel this show” “Nikita sucks”. For God’s sake, stop being a moron! If you don’t like it, don’t tune in, don’t bother the ratings, and stop insulting people who do. It’s like you guys think you’re the kings and queens of the world, the ones with power to decide what’s good or what isn’t. You can possibly be telling me that you so powerfully hate a show that it bothers you that still airs… If that’s the case, please, please, go check out your mental health because it may have been compromised.

  • MichaelChickless

Jeez, if only as many people watched Nikita as commented about it here.

  • Carl

@Bern, will Arrow also be affected by the upcoming preemptions?

  • William

Malibu Country must find a way to attract more male viewers to earn a renewal for next year. Reba has a solid following of approx 5 million mostly female viewers, but this is not enough for future success. ABC MUST FIND A WAY TO GET SOME MALE VIEWERS FROM LMS AND ST!!!!

“Citation please. I’m unaware of any such “retooling”, let alone twice.”

Sorry, if I gave a crap I’d spend my day looking for such, but as I have no stake in a “Nikita” renewal either way (I don’t care if it’s renewed I don’t care if its canceled) I don’t feel like wasting my day looking up historical facts. Yes, I tried a quick google search but couldn’t turn up old news articles this was all I found ( amberspence . org / blog / retool-revisited / ), and I’m not any more interested in spending my day looking up facts for a show I don’t give a rats behind about, which is why I didn’t save news articles about the show to begin with.
(Obviously I took out the stuff that would make that a hyperlink so my post wouldn’t get caught in the filter, but I assume you can figure out on your own how to make it back into a link. And there’s no w w w needed.)

“Neither I nor any one else here who likes the show particularly gives a rat’s bottom what you think.”

Honestly I don’t care that you don’t care I just get a little tired of every “Nikita” fanboy here acting like “Nikita” is the be all end all of awesome TV – it’s not.

“He’s not cleaning Nikita along with all the other low-rated shows. The whole point of Nikita getting a third season was to get to syndication. That hasn’t changed.”

Yeah, you clearly missed the part where I said I wouldn’t bet against a “Nikita” renewal even if Mark-P was going to clean house – too busy foaming at the mouth cause I said something that didn’t imply your show was the most awesome show to ever awesome. So again I never said “Nikita” would be canceled, and certainly not canceled because it’s not a show I don’t watch. I merely said that right now the only shows that are completely safe are the ones already renewed of which “Nikita” is not one of those shows. Neither is “Hart of Dixie,” but as with “Nikita” I’m pretty sure “Hart of Dixie” will be renewed.

Network would be an empty place indeed if they canceled every show I don’t like/don’t watch. But lets face it with “Nikita”s ratings this season the WB will have to really want to get it to the syndication point because they’ll be literally giving it away to the CW, because the CW certainly won’t be able to make much (or any) money on ad revenue.

I unfortunately have to agree on what all of ya`ll are saying. Nikita haven`t been too good, season 3. Season one had that thing like. You could almost feel that you find out something new about the government or learned something. It kept you on the edge. And then season 2 had many really good episodes but it was very up and down, but still good though. For example episode 4 and episode 7 in season 2 were really good. But the episodes after weren`t as good.
Now the show has no main storyline or focus. The acting is lacking and it`s like some scenes aren`t connected when it goes from action to comedy or romance. Melinda Clarke saying “DADDY ISSUES” Did not fit at all.
    What else

Fighting scenes – not as good or sometimes belieavable TOO SLOW yes Too slow

Too much cuddling and too much romance that doesn`t feel natural

Scenes that feels “put in” just to fill out the gapes to make the 40 minute time line

Michaels hand …Not sure what I felt but It was not a good move

Saw someone comment on “same location” Which means that you can see the locations used in season 3 being used in previous seasons

Something in picture quality is off.

  • Kyle

Excuse me for the grammar im tired but I just had to get it off my mind

  • Kyle

YES! Kill off a real main character like Owen or Michael . That would be good for the show actually

  • Kavyn

RSH Out of all the males, you can definitely call Michael the ‘lead male’. But I still don’t see him as a necessary character at this point in Nikita’s story. He’s essentially turned into her lover, and doesn’t really have anything unique going on aside from being a hot dude. Ryan is already handling control of Division, Owen and Alex are perfectly capable of helping Nikita on the field, and Birkhoff is fine handling anything behind the scenes. Right now Michael is just there for the sake of being there.

Michael needs SOMETHING going on to keep him relevant, and that has to be something extreme… something that will change his character and his dynamic with everyone else. And I simply can’t see that happening, so it’s better from a story POV to kill him off.

  • googly

Not a lot of people here are saying Nikita is NOT getting a fourth season, just saying it shouldn’t. So you can shove that itty bitty teeny weeny little tiny fact down everyone’s collective throats but I’m sure its not gag worthy.

I feel sorry for Shane West. You get the feeling that he is like Lindsey Lohan showing up for SNL.

Richard, you should watch the French version of LA Femme Nikita. It is so worthy of imitation done right, even if it diverges from the original storyline. I can imagine that after watching it, it will alter your obsessive childish need to be forcing things down everyone’s throat.

Lastly, this weird phenomenon of Shaggy, again a bastardization of Shane and Maggie. If they did indeed morph, ironically, I do see Shaggy from Scooby Doo. And Shaggy Shippers, sounds like an anal STD but are the ultimate Nikita fanboys. Same difference. They are the Bondoels of this world and I exist here because they do.

and whatever you think, I DON’T CARE JARHARHARDEEHARHAR

  • William

All this chatter about Nikita is making me nauseous!! Why?? the ratings are sooo poor

  • wade

Last man standing number 1 at 8 o’clock again. thats 4 out of the last 6 weeks. 2 weeks in a row at least.

  • thensnowleopard

Richard Steven Hack’s been around for a while, and it usually rational, but he does tend to go off the deep end over shows he likes that get woeful ratings. Sadly, that seems to be the case this spring with Nikita.

Nikita was retooled in October 2010, immediately after it aired. It was big news at the time (hopefully, this site will let me post a link): insidetv.ew.com/2010/10/12/nikita-getting-a-slight-tweak/

There was talk of tweaking into the New Year after that, but I think it was all part of the same retool.

  • Kavyn

Just curious but who exactly was the CIA officer that was cast to spice up Nikita’s love life? I’m guessing he didn’t last long considering the only people I remember Nikita having feelings for was Michael and Owen, who were both on the show before that article hit.
