Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    Do you know what I just realized? ABC is the only big network to not have a “hit” new show this season!

    CBS – Elementary (sort of a hit; doing well enough to be renewed at least)

    NBC – Revolution; (another potenial hit premiering soon is Hannibal. You guys should check out the trailers for Hannibal, it looks like it’s going to be fantastic!)

    FOX – The Following

    CW – Arrow

    ABC – nothing…(Red Widow was their last hope and that bombed; Last Resort had the greatest potential to be their hit show this season but ABC put it in a bad timeslot, or so I’ve heard that’s the reason it didn’t succeed)

    Side note: Another soon to premiere show that will potentially be a hit this season is Bates Motel. It’s on A&E and the trailers look awesome! It almost has 150,000 likes on Facebook and it hasn’t even premiered yet; that’s insane!

  • Roco

    @rockmypants

    Really, well keep looking because it’s pretty obvious who Max is.

  • Richard Steven Hack

    BTW, I actually watched Red Widow last night. Looked like a comedy to me rather than a drama. Decent cast, but the premise and its execution are fairly poor. Not surprised it’s doomed. They should just let Alexia Fast stand around in short shorts. :-)

  • Dave

    Yay for Revenge! :D

    WTF is going on with OUAT? :(

  • BigBrotherFan

    @BL

    Agreed. I also would like to point out that a 1.2 rating was 666 PARK AVE. lowest not going that low until weeks later not it’s SECOND WEEK! SCREW ABC!

  • BG

    Go Revenge!!! Revenge deserves the increase. The last 2 episodes have been really good. The writers are finally going back to the things that worked in the first season.

  • Roco

    @Rob

    If you say so Max(wink wink)

  • Richard Steven Hack

    CD: Last Resort bombed because it was a stupid premise and focused on the wrong element of the premise: the completely implausible submarine situation rather than the conspiracy behind it.

  • Ann

    I hope OUAT starts improving in the ratings.

    Although I personally do not like Rose McGowan, did not want to see a backstory on Cora and actually turned it off. I didn’t need to see a romance between Cora/Rumpel. Hated that.

  • r0ckmypants

    @Roco – So you think the person who posted first today praising Revenge is the person who usually posts first disparaging Revenge?

    Great deductive skills. You should be on Elementary.

  • Richard Steven Hack

    Matt: I tend to agree that The Walking Dead ratings are hurting the network shows. How much we can’t know, but it will certainly help when major competition is no longer on. What is replacing TWD and The Bible next month?

  • BigBrotherFan

    @BG

    It would be so much better if they JUST WROTE AIDEN OUT! OMG! He is ruining the show. If he is back next season I’M DONE! Emily needs to work with NOLAN or solo.

    Why is there so much ASHLEY HATE with the fans? I, for one, happen to really like her character and her character does a heck of a lot more than FLOPAIDEN and atleast she isn’t driving viewers away in millions. If they make her even worse/bad I think people will like her. She just needs WAY more to do than being at that old dude Conrads side.

    STOWE makes this show work so they need more focus on her. The only solution is to drop some of these stupid plots and get rid of Aiden. Killing Amanda was a poor choice, but I’m sure the actress saw the SINKING SHIP (PUN INTENDED) of the writing and likely asked to leave. lol

  • Joseph

    Yes! So happy for Revenge!

  • Shepherd

    @SJ

    ABC really should have burned off 666 Park Avenue

    I had thought the same thing until I saw the final four episodes. They basically decided to speed up the pace in order to bring the show to a very final conclusion. Either they never intended it to air more than 13 episodes, or they shot a new ending.

    It really felt like they at least re-shot the last two episodes, and I doubt after making that decision that they could have left in on the air because of the time that took.

  • BG

    @CD I’ll have to check out the trailer for Bates Motel. :) I rarely watch A&E, so I haven’t seen any promos for it.

  • The End

    Welcome back Evil Regina, you’ve been gone far too long.

    Also surprised about Revenge, considering how low it dipped(1.4) made me assume it was down trending, then it randomly pulls a number like that, honestly hope it can recover. Though I’m surprised Once wasn’t higher, easily one of the best episodes of the season.

  • Jenny

    Maybe Revenge and Once can both adjust up in the finals. It’s shocking to me to see Once at these levels still.

  • Prism

    Last year, OUAT took a 5 tenths/1 million viewers hit from week to week at the start of DST. Flat is way better than what I was hoping for.

  • andri

    One time oneself a revenge fan acing it fore’va fire.the red widdow needs upchanging accelerating its marketing gimmick swag away a family show concept.what are you Abc family network exec’s abyss anyway?work on it.working out the slippery slipknotted kinks Jinks system.
