*Israel intel chief: Syria’s Assad readying to use chemical weapons…

Is the man really this stupid? Even President Obama won’t allow him to use these.

Glee and The Office drew fewer total viewers than NCIS during the 2009–10 season, but earned an average of $272,694 and $213,617 respectively, compared to $150,708 for NCIS.”

Mark2, the thing you are forgetting is NCIS has product placement (Gibbs drinks Starbucks and Burger King gets their licks in too) and USA network runs marathons almost every weekend. So they can afford to offer a lower rate because they have the larger audience along with being renewed for next year.

@Coffee Steve If Assad back is against the wall like a wild animal he may do anything :( Looks like the only way Assad is leaving Syria is in a body bag.

    Coffee,

I know you home school , but, Common Core is coming your way too. Even the SAT’s & other college tests will be geared to their testing.

You should be able to escape the most egregious ideas , like I posted this morning ..

A February Department of Education report on its data-mining plans that contemplates the use of student monitoring techniques such as “functional magnetic resonance imaging” and “using cameras to judge facial expressions, an electronic seat that judges posture, a pressure-sensitive computer mouse and a biometric wrap on kids’ wrists.”

but, you aren’t likely to escape all the curriculum, especially the new math, or, if you want high college entrance exam scores.

I’ve read the actual short form to apply for subsidized health care from the federal government for Obamacare assistance.

Details for CMS Form Number: CMS-10440

Data Collection to Support Eligibility Determinations for Insurance Affordability Programs and Enrollment through Affordable Insurance Exchanges, Medicaid and ….

When you read the fine print, you will see this is an application to determine your eligibility for and possible subsidies of health insurance, but not an application for a health insurance policy. The given estimate is that they will get back to you in 1-2 weeks with their determination, after which you can then fill out another application to apply for a health insurance policy

Politico: ‘Olbermann Spent Last Fall Talking to All the Major Networks, and He Couldn’t Get a Job’

As the Dow Jones Industrial Average makes a new high every day, the value of Keith Olbermann’s stock continues to plummet.

According to Dylan Byers at Politico, the former MSNBC blowhard “spent last fall talking to all the major networks, and he couldn’t get a job.”

As NewsBusters reported Thursday, Olbermann settled his lawsuit with former employer Current TV for $5 million.

Sources told Politico that his inability to find employment was citing during mediation as an attempt to gain sympathy.

“One of the cards his people played was hardship,” the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told POLITICO. “He spent last fall talking to all the major networks, and he couldn’t get a job. The idea was, this could be the last money he ever earned.”

Apparently, Olbermann approached numerous broadcast news channels and cable outlets including ABC, AMC, and ESPN.

“No one would hire him, and that became a negotiating ploy,” one source told Politico.

    All together now: awwwwww.

I have no problem with that, I have always thought it would be fine to make sure homeschool kids are doing schoolwork and not just sitting around.

Also My Daughter takes an end of the year Kentucky and New York School Board placement test (I do both to make sure she has an idea how she compares Nationwide), and she has done very well on them, surprisingly well in fact.

Also before my Grand Daughter passed away, who was homeschooled as well by my Oldest daughter, she received her Homeschool Diploma and was about to enter College with flying colors with her SAT and ACT scores. She flat blitzed them.

Coffee Steve If Assad back is against the wall like a wild animal he may do anything

North Korea is in the same boat, they WILL lash out, and with them having attacked that Island and sinking a South Sub the past couple of years, the PM of South Korea has already pledged any further attack of any kind will automatically cause a military response.

Most of the back buzz says things are getting more tense by the hour over there.

  • Coffee Steve

    PS: @ Mickey O

Remember as well, The North nullified the cease fire agreement and technically the North is at a state of war with us and the south.

  • Boo Boo Bear

Im glad this ratboy lets us know he is coming with this “HERE WE GO!! IDIOT ALERT! IDIOT ALERT” introduction.

  • d.d.

    Coffee,

Common Core has barely started .Your state of KY was the first state to adopt it. I don’t think you would approve of the accolades given commununism over capitalism .I’ve seen the work sheets. The math standards stress not only procedural skill but also conceptual understanding , yet, you don’t necessarily have to have the correct answer. English no longer teaches just English Lit. There are a lot of English teachers upset about the increase in technical manual reading, especially those included from government sites.

Common Core was started with an eye to the global . I’m OK with that ,
but, I’m not OK with data mining our children , or, much of the unproven results subject matter being taught.

Trevor Loudon’s, New Zeal has a huge amount of info that was posted yesterday on the subject.

The Infiltration of Our School Systems by the Common Core Standards

Many say Common Core Standards violates the Constitution.

    Letmethink,

    What’s your take ?

    —————-

    Rats,

Don’t waste any time boo-hooing over Olbermann. He just settled his $50 million dollar lawsuit with Current over his firing.

Settlement specifics were not disclosed, however a source told Deadline that Olbermann will receive a “a significant payout from Current.”

This just in: the comedy club at CPAC has begun…with Birther Trump telling the audience they (the GOP) shouldn’t call themselves stupid (as Jindal did)…..and that immigration is a losing propostion for the GOP and that Trump will post the “real” obama birth certificate soon….and then the extremist gun lobby leader La Pierre of the NRA (whose membership disagrees with his stands on guns) telling the crowd that everybody should have an assault weapon, just like in the Wild West, because you never know when you will need it to overthrow the government (as gun mfrs blood money was falling of of the pierre’s pockets)….and then there was Paul Ryan who asked the crowd whether they would give up Medicare for poorer service of voucher care…they booed….Seriously, the Party is in complete disarray, but it is fun to watch….There was even a dart board with Christie’s picture on it….Many more comedians are slated to appear…..

Mark2: First, Maddow won the demo but got her butt kick in over all viewers. That is a fact. If the last doesn’t matter to you, then why do you comment on it? Second, you did not answer my the question.
    Third:
A18-49 or Adults 18-49 Ratings – this is the advertising demographic advertisers are usually most interested in for primetime shows. It’s the important number in terms of how well a show is doing. Total viewers (P2+ above) DON”T really make a difference.”

    Read the bold area, please.

This quote is being used for broadcast prime time programing, it is not a statement about Cable News based shows. It is also two years old. Read up on target marketing and how it is being used in cable tv.

Here is one only a year and a half old.
We take no joy in pointing out that total viewers don’t matter in broadcast primetime, it’s just the way it is. We no longer concern ourselves with the debate about why that is so or whether it should be so. It is so. Our primary focus, at least with broadcast network primetime shows (which generate most of our readership) is which shows will be renewed and canceled.

Read the bold area again. We are not talking about broadcast primetime. We are talking about CABLE.

Please stop repeating data about broadcast tv programing. We are talking about CABLE. And we are talking about a show that got only .03% more key demo viewers. We are not talking about a show that has 200% or 300% more key demo viewers.

    To help you remember.
Hannity, Maddow, Dr. Drew on call = CABLE NEWS NETWORKS
    Bones, Grey’s Anatomy,60 Minutes = broadcast tv
    Apple’s Red
    Orange’s orange

    @d.d.
I’m not OK with data mining our children

To the best of my knowledge it has to pass our legislator first, (Common Core) and if someone wishes it, it is voluntary and not forced. KY law says that all homeschools have to do is send a letter to the local school board notifying them that the child will be homeschooled.

They can request a home visit but even then the parent has the right to refuse without a proper notification of weeks in advance of one. All we have to do is keep an attendance record and a record of grades.

My last look into the laws of our state and county shows no change in the law, yet. If they try and force anyone to only use what they designate, I’ll move the next day if it passes to either Indiana, Tenn. or MO.

  • usa8888

This just in: Fos Fake News reports that students are feeling the pain of student loan cuts resulting from the sequester and they try to blame Obama for it…of course, the GOP has been trying to shut down student loans for years and Obama expanding the program….AND the GOP is responsible for the sequester…..from Fox Fake News–bias 24/7–they distort, you decide……

  • Mikey O

@Coffee Steve Yes it looks like Foreign policy could be be in the fore front. They other stuff may end up on the back burner. Hope Kerry and Hagel are up to the task. Hagel Worries me thou.
