It looks like the Veronica Mars Kickstarter project that began just yesterday has been a rousing success.  Could a Chuck movie now be a possibility? Star Zachary Levi has apparently been watching the Veronica Mars Kickstarter saga unfold and sent out this cryptic tweet yesterday....

So would you fund a Chuck movie? Is it even a viable idea? Cast your vote below and tell us what other canceled TV shows you would plunk $10 down to see resurrected on the big screen in the comments!

    I could see another Firefly movie happening, if they could just get the actors back. Sure Fillion and Torres have their own shows now, but they’ve always sounded very motivated to do another Serenity. And Lord knows the Browncoats are passionate enough to raise the money.

    I’ve participated in a few successful Kickstarters and Indie-Go-Gos from the organizing side, and it’s really amazing what you can do with them. It’s a lot of work, but it’s still a whole easier and maybe even more effective than going door to door the way they used to have to do it for indie film (Bruce Campbell gives a truly depressing account of how that went for “Evil Dead” in his autobiography). And with the Internet and sites like YouTube, there’s now a place to air the final product.

    It’s funny. A big snarkback for years to overly passionate fans was that they could have their show back once they were willing to pay for it. Now somebody’s figured out a way to do that.

    I’d go for it and “The Sarah Conner Cronicles, another X-Files movie, and BattleStar Galactia on Earth, and Terra Nova” would be my choices to be given the movie treatment. Don’t think “Chuck” would make a good movie fit.

    Of course FOX would release the rights if someone made it worth their while. The network didn’t get where it is by being anti-profit.

  • TV Addict

    After Community gets canceled 2 years from now, it’ll get a movie and it will be better than Avatar and Titanic combined.

    @a p garcia

    Kinda funny the way 3 of the 4 choices you made wouldn’t be viable at all. The Sarah Connor series was a commercial/ratings failure, The X Files will get a movie anyway, and NBC Universal won’t commit to a Battlestar Galactica movie at this moment in time.

    And lastly Terra Nova is long since over, the hugely expensive sets are gone, and flying everyone down under, to re assemble the sets and everything else just wouldn’t happen.

    While you’re criticizing Chuck which ironically is a choice that makes infinitely times more sense than the stuff you listed, you haven’t listed much better.

    I’m going to say no for now. Personally, I want to make sure all of the Veronica Mars donations go through before I call that a resounding success.

  • Nerdbot

    The Secret Circle! As it will never be back (as a TV show) in spite of how awful the ratings of the CW’s shows are now, it could get finally a proper ending. A movie for Ringer would be nice too.

  • CBSviewer

    A CSI: Miami movie would be sooooo good !

  • SR

    @Sanurai99 Define “Go Through”.

  • kevin

    A Heroes movie!

    Like VERONICA MARS, CHUCK is a Warner’s property – so maybe Warners would be open to trying this a second time!

  • The End

    Wouldn’t be viable though, if anything for a large production like that, you want your movie nailed down before the series has ended, so you can get all your cast on-board.

    @The End

    I think your reasoning is off for T:SCC. Veronica Mars was also considered a commercial/ratings failure, that’s why the studio refused to fund a finale movie and why fans had to step in. The studio refused to green light primarily because they thought such a dinky little show had enough interested fans. I, for one, would love to see T:SCC given a proper ending. The reason I don’t think it will happen is because it’s part of an existing movie franchise that could still be rebooted profitably and negotiating things would be a big ‘ol mess.

    Chuck already. ..give it s few years. Fringe too soon too. Qauntum Leap. And Pushing Daisies need better endings

  • dazza

    the only othere one that should be made is a jericho movie they need to end that story

  • Julia

    Credit cards are not checked at time of pledge, so it’s possible/likely that at least some will not be accepted.

  • Billy martins

    Desperate Housewives shall become to the Big screen!!! It shall be cool seeing the ladies of wisteria lane but there in a new type of neighbourhood their in New York City !!!

  • Kate

    Chuck has a huge following, I think it could work. Gilmore Girls would also be an excellent choice seeing as Amy Sherman-Palladino’s Bunheads is about to be canceled and Lauren Graham backed the Veronica Mars movie.

  • The End

    @The reason I don’t think it will happen

    Personally I can’t see it happening because they would have no desire to bring it back for the reasons I listed. There’s a huge difference between Veronica Mars and this show.
