    @Ratboy @Doug. He would if he thought he could get away with it. He views what people earn as his to confiscate and re-distribute.

    Fox News fails to inform birthers that Ted Cruz was born in Canada. 4% of them chose him for President at C-PAC. No wonder Fox Affiliates choose to air shows like TMZ and Inside Edition.

    Cyprus officials are still trying to decide on the levels of assets and percentages and it appears they will not vote on this until Tuesday evening. If the EC and Cyprus decide to go thru with this plan, no matter the level, it does set a disturbing precedent as you stated. The reason they are trying to go this route is that the banks in Cyprus are so under capitalized that the government can’t get the money it needs thru the normal process.

    To my mind investment taxes are levied on realized profits, dividends, and interest. This changes the paradigm by seizing unrealized gains and calling it a tax. Also, if they go ahead with this seizure on accounts under 100 euros it basically negates the insurance on these accounts. This insurance is similar to our FDIC insurance.

    The U.S. is not in this kind of position but we could be 20 years down the line. Washington really needs to look at Europe and see what could be in our future and do something now.

    I should get the dentures one day this week, as soon as they call I’M FLYING over there :-)

    @d.d.
    Hope your peppers are growing.

    My Red Peppers are struggling but coming along, my Green peppers are only a week away or less from my picking them, that little green house is amazing.

    @Cathy
    I know many think the market has been doing great the past few weeks, however unless your a huge corporation or extremely wealthy you’re not doing well. The average investor isn’t making much of anything.

    Matthew said I was overdoing my doom and gloom on the market so I haven’t been saying much :mrgreen: But the truth is unless your at the top of the food chain, the market hasn’t been good. In fact If I had stayed in with the same stocks I had? I would now be losing money.

    @Rats
    Thye were saying that by this week we would be seeing spring like temps. Not happening, even here its cold and will be snowing much of the week.

    Yep, but I think it will be sooner that 20, The world is not stable and many things can speed that time frame up, but very good points in your post Mike.

    Cruz was born in Canada, but his mother was a lifelong American, born in Delaware. (His father was a political refugee from Cuba.) So under federal law, Cruz was born an American citizen by virtue of his mother.

    His family moved back to Texas, where Cruz grew up, and lived his entire life except the years he spent in New Jersey attending Princeton, Massachusetts attending Harvard Law School, and Washington, D.C., clerking for Chief Justice William Rehnquist at the Supreme Court and later serving in the Bush administration. So this former Texas solicitor general was born an American citizen and has spent almost all his life in America-usually serving his state or nation.

    It would be better to report, “Some constitutional experts say he would be ineligible,” or more accurate still, “A small minority of constitutional experts say he would be ineligible.” But no one can make the unqualified claim that the Constitution declares Ted Cruz is unable to run for president.

    There’s never been a court case to decide this issue, and there are only a few law review articles written by professors. The only professor I know of who thinks Cruz in ineligible to run for president also said John McCain was ineligible to run for president because he was born on a U.S. Navy base in Panama. I don’t recall any media outlet reporting John McCain was ineligible to be president.

    Appreciate the clarification of the “facts” reported from a Democrats point of view. Maybe they should expand beyond Huffpost & MSNBC.

    d.d. My father, who fight in the Korean War, used to always says. “Our government sends millions to countries that hate us. Our citizens send millions to the same countries so their children will be feed. Do they thank us, no. They continue to hate us. And one day these foreign children we are feeding will grow up and kill our children.”

    I’ve thought of his statement often in the last forty years and what should be done. We can’t just let people starve. We can’t sit back and let leaders kill their people. But are we going about it the right way?

    I look at the peace corp and feed the children and wonder. Do these countries ask for our help? Do we just go in and help them or do we try to change their way of life? We know that many missionaries go and went to countries with needs and offered help only if you become christens. How can you like someone who comes in and wants to change your way of life?

    As for the federal government money to these countries, are you doing it to help the people of the country? Are you doing it to control the country? Are we doing it to bribe the leadership of the country? Do we do enough research before we give money?

    We are always going to have countries that hate us because we are rich and powerful. We will likely also give money to countries that hate us because money can buy compliance cheaper than war.
    I believe our problem is congress researches the first time we give money but we give to much to quickly and without oversight or review. And we just keep giving because that is the policy.

    Bought the wife a Sony 10″ Tablet Sunday for her trip to Scotland. $348.00 after taxes, 16 GB (although it’s only showing 9.8 GB) Android 4.0 OS & HD, 1080P Wi-Fi etc.

    Said she had to have one, but to me its just an oversized Android phone just like we use. Our phones do the exact same thing on them and our phones are HD 1080p capable too. To me at lest its wasted money dude…

    Are they going after Cyprus as a whole or just the Greek side, seeing that the island is divided into two sectors.

    I looked at those but I decided to add the extra money and move up to the windows platform. I got the RT enhanced platform (has the office programs, word excel, powerpoint) and not Windows 8 for two reasons. First I don’t need the entire program on the tablet and second because it came with the FREE keyboard (store special for that model) so I saved that $150 bucks!

    I do like it and am getting use to it but I don’t think I would have been as near as happy with the Android platform. This one has the Windows 8 main screen but I can switch and go to the old style desktom and have all my folders there.

    @Jeff spews hatred about people with religious beliefs and calls people “LOSERS”.

    Oh Lordy!

    Poor Cathy! The hypocrisy and delusion continues….

    I reserved the “loser” insult for a true loser. I know the right wingers in here like to gang up on folks they disagree with but, you should stop trying to be a guardian, it’s kind of pathetic.

    It’s the Internet stupid!

    @John McCain was ineligible to run for president because he was born on a U.S. Navy base in Panama. I don’t recall any media outlet reporting John McCain was ineligible to……

    Wow! Did not know that, maybe because the right wing media was too busy focusing on Obama’s birth certificate and placing his birth in Kenya.
