Coffee Steve, I feel the same way about tablets as do my children. Two Christmas’ ago my husband got one for each of our sons. They opened them and said, “What do I need this for? What does it do that my laptop or phone can’t do?” The answer is nothing. It’s just bigger then your phone and smaller then your laptop.
My oldest sold his on ebay for twice what my husband paid for it. (Hubby got them at black Friday prices.) Hubby brought the other from our youngest, saying someone would realize how great it is soon. Well, no one has and on the shelf it has sat for two years.

MCain, Cruz and Obama are eligible to be president The chief ones are, with minor exceptions, birth within the United States, which confers citizenship under the Fourteenth Amendment, plus birth to American parents overseas, and at least one of them have lived in the United States some times in his/her life. If you are born abroad, your birth is registered with a U.S. consulate or embassy, and that record will be proof of your citizenship.

  • Raz

Jeff, people born on military bases of military personnel and their spouses are considered american citizens. Unless they were born in civilian hospital in another country or one parent is a person from another country when that child is born in that civilian hospital.

Coffee Steve, I feel the same way about tablets as do my children

    Hey there young lady!
Yep I felt the same way but when my laptop at home gave up finally I decided that the replacement should probably be a tablet. I can use it when I am with clients and take it to board meetings easier etc. At first I second guessed it and was kicking myself for not buying another laptop but the more I use it the more I think it was wise for me. I still have my main laptop in my office and that is the main go to but with the keyboard and windows platform I can still work at home on the tablet.
I have the big Android phone and THAT I don’t like! It is good for email and stuff but I don’t like using it for much more.

  • Coffee Steve

The tablet may be useful for her trip but beyond that, I don’t know. I’m like Rats I wish she would have allowed me to get here one with Windows 8 on it.

By the way Internet Explorer 10 is now available and I HIGHLY recommend it, its stable and has some good new features like auto-spell check.

  • Ratboy

    @ Coffee Dude
By the way Internet Explorer 10 is now available and I HIGHLY recommend it, its stable and has some good new features like auto-spell check.

I have been using it and it is not bad BUT………..It does not do the auto password thing like my old version! I had to go digging to find some old passwords that came up automatically before!

  • Coffee Steve

By the way I love my android phone It takes pictures and video @ 1080P, the screen is big enough for this old blind fart to see, has excellent audio sound too. The best phone I have owned, and the best part? It was free and even came with a 200 dollar gift card with the 2 year contract, so the wife and I put the 400 bucks into our gas debit card account.

We have a separate debit card that is only for Gas, and we put money in it every 4 months or when we get extra cash so we can keep a good eye on how much we spend on gas and adjust it for the year.

Forget credit cards gang, and start drawing interest on your money and use the accounts as you would your cards.

  • Coffee Steve

………..It does not do the auto password thing like my old version

The best password program is RoboForm. Saves passwords, fill forms, bank cards info etc… its about 39.00 bucks and you can set a master password to lock all passwords too. I been using it for many years

The Republican Party could appeal all it wants to the Minority groups in this country it would Not have helped them in the last two elections…The Blacks voted for Obama ,simply because he was Black!!The Dems will not have that advantage next time..The blacks were more interested in supporting the first black president than other interests they may have as American citizens…Obviously as more blacks are unempolyed under Obama than any other modern president thus far….Why doesnt someone just be honest and say it….

  • Coffee Steve

Why doesnt someone just be honest and say it….

Because for many, the problem with truth is, it never lies :-)

  • Cathy

U.S. military base and U.S embassies are considered U.S. soil. As for people being born overseas to American parent or parents, I thought the parent had to petition for U.S. citizenship for their child within six months of birth.

Obama caused his problems with the “birther” because he went around in college telling people he was from Kenya. He started a lie to be ‘cooler’. When he saw this lie helped increase his popularity in the black community and increased his book sales, Obama let it go on. He did not put a stop to the lie until becoming President become possible. You can’t run from the lies of your past.

I’m taking the kid out for Pizza for lunch, I’ll get the salad, she’ll get the pizza LOL

The truth is in the numbers!!! So at MSNBC, only 15 percent of air time is actually devoted to straight news reporting. At Fox it’s 45 percent. And by the way, CNN is only 54% news!

Pew: 85% of MSNBC’s Reporting Is Opinion

Liberals love to make the case that MSNBC is the left-wing version of Fox News.

Not according to a new Pew Research Center study that found MSNBC to be by far the most opinionated cable news channel in America:

Traditionally known for its attention to breaking news, daytime cable’s cuts in live event coverage and its growing reliance on interviews suggest it may be moving more toward the talk-oriented evening shows. This transition may cut the costs of having a crew and correspondent provide live event coverage.

CNN, which has branded itself around reporting resources and reach, cut back between 2007 and 2012 on two areas tied to that brand—in-depth story packages and live event coverage. Even so, CNN is the only one of the three big cable news channels to produce more straight reporting than commentary over all. At the other end of that spectrum lies MSNBC, where opinion fills a full 85% of the channel’s airtime.

So at MSNBC, only 15 percent of air time is actually devoted to straight news reporting. At Fox it’s 45 percent.

As such, 85 percent of the time, MSNBC viewers are being pummeled with far-left opinions by commentators that either also work for the Nation magazine or share the opinions of those that do.

Forbes Monday noted a financial reason for this:

Not coincidentally, MSNBC also spends by far the least producing its news: some $240 million in 2012, according to an estimate by SNL Kagan. CNN spent $682 million, while Fox led the pack with an outlay of $820 million.

So Fox spends almost 3 1/2 times on news production as MSNBC. Any wonder why there isn’t much news to be found at this NBC “news” division?

As I’ve said many times before, it’s a farce for MSNBC to be considered a news organization and to be placed in the proximity of CNN and Fox on the cable guide.

  • Ratboy

And this is the left leaning Mediaite reporting the same thing! Even they cant spin the truth!

MSNBC Coverage Almost Entirely Opinionated, While Fox News Includes More Factual Reporting, Study Says

True to its motto, MSNBC has been leaning forward. To the point that its opinionated programming far outweighs its “factual reporting,” according to a new Pew study. While Fox News, too, had more opinionated programming, the network had a much smaller discrepancy between opinion and straight reporting.

The study — which came as part of Pew Research Center’s annual “State of the Media” report — states that opinionated programming comprised 85 percent of MSNBC’s airtime (versus 15 percent of “factual reporting”). Meanwhile, Fox News had opinion 55 percent of the time, with 45 percent straight news.

Of the three cable networks, CNN was the only one where reporting dominated commentary, with 54 percent straight coverage. Since 2007, the study notes that while the networks used to rely “on significantly distinct formats five years ago, the three rivals now look strikingly similar.”

Jeffie has been trying overcome his own feelings of being a loser ever since he started posting here. He makes up stuff about knowing celebrities( to him this makes him seem important), he lies about taking trips( this where he has been caught in most of his lies) and finally and most pathetically he lies about his financial status. He thinks if we think he is rich that somehow gives him more credibility. Again he has been caught lying about his financial situation. The saddest thing is that he feels so much like a loser he has to create a fantasy life and call others losers. I have tried to feel sorry for him but his vile and nasty posts have made that impossible. Someday maybe his computer will be repossessed.

  • Ratboy

    @ DB

Yo DB!! Hows the hell are ya!!!!

I could maybe have given credibility but after he got the boot for sock puppetry and then smears everybody with name calling and such and vile names at that, takes the credibility away that he is a Hollywood Realtor too.
Maybe someday he will in fact be successful and look back and understand what we have been saying all along!

  • DB

Rat, I doubt it, he is too far gone. His inferiority complex has really put him in a bad place. Now stay out of the snow!!!

  • Ratboy

    @ DB
Now stay out of the snow!!!

    BITE ME!!!!!!!!!

  • Cathy

Ratboy,, Hello back to you…. I can see a Realtor using a tablet with clients. My realtor has a large screen phone she used all the time, when we were out looking at houses.

I know tablets have some business uses. In time, I’m sure they will have enough computing power for me to move to them.
But it’s not a need item for most people.
It’s a sore spot right now for me. My sister has been out of work for six months and has been begging me to loan her money. She got an eviction notice last Monday, so I sent her landlord $600. Then Friday she is showing off her new tablet.

  • Coffee Steve

The good news is, the market is far from panic mode, its down but all of them are not crashing by any means. (yet)

Howdy DB. Careful Rats has been faxing snowballs at people
