Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    Immaculite:

“It’s also seems to be lying as well when you said you would STHU….”

Kiss your mother with that mouth? Again with the fabrications. Scroll back to my comment on page 8. It starts with: “I will; but not before you….” Meaning, I’m wasn’t going to let you keep making up things and spreading your peculiar warmth throughout the Comments section without responding when it suits me. Since you couldn’t stop your incessant name calling, I’m under no obligation to you for anything. So, shame on you for fibbing.

  • qw

Dump Nikki and things will get much better. What a waste of a human being!!

  • vcmom

Idol’s problems are summed up in two words. Nicki Minaj.

  • 787 Nikita News

UGH reading Tom’s posts are disgusting that dude has no real knowledge about anything.

  • badillin

HOW THE HELL IS THE BIG BANG THEORY OVER COMMUNITY… damn americans, truly the mayority of you are kinda retarded.

  • sarah nz

@ Melissa – thanks, understand what you were meaning now :)

  • sarah nz

    * and agree with you’re 2nd post.

  • eoow

Bravo VCMOM on your comment “Idol’s problems are summed up in two words. Nicki Minaj.”

  • World War 3

“HOW THE HELL IS THE BIG BANG THEORY OVER COMMUNITY… damn americans, truly the mayority of you are kinda retarded.”

My bad I guess I’m retarded that I choose to watch BBT over Community. That’s why nobody watches Community now because you fanboys always have to whine and diss other people’s shows but that’s why Whitney beat you this week and I know that hurts your guys inner core.

  • mixplix

    It’s a glorified gong show.

  • freecheese

I am shocked that this stupid keroke show with it freak show judges lasted this long. I hope it leaves soon.

  • Danielle

    @ Immaculate

100% agree with you. I find it extremely pathetic how some people put so much time and effort into bashing a show they probably haven’t seen. Ignore them. They probably don’t like the show because its a reminder of how much their own life sucks. I often imagine these trolls as greasy, friendless slobs that spend all their time in mummy’s basement surfing the net because nobody likes them. The truth is, people on the net don’t like them either.

  • prodigychild2

There are videos of Nicki Minaj on youtube displaying multiple personalities which she has named and is proud of. Yea, we the mainstream are interested in her opinions. Or maybe it wasn’t her??

  • Maxx

I DVR it and use FF through 99% of it. However, not even going to watch it anymore after this week’s judging scam. I think it was a publicity stunt. Granted he wasn’t the best of the bunch but he was better than the other sing off guy.

  • Rj

No one can stand Nikki Minaj. She’s a worthless scumbag, just like the rest of Hollywood

  • Networkman

I feel American Idol results should air in the 9pm hour. The demo numbers and viewers tend to increase as the night goes on. When it aired 90 minutes last week, the 9pm hour brought some great numbers.

  • charles

    NOTE TO AI PRODUCERS

People like to watch people try and fail/succeed at games of talent and skill. This is a formula that goes back to Ted Mack’s amateur hour, vaudeville, roman, greek theater.

When you overproduce polished acts and shove cartoonlike personages on viewers like ellen degeneris and some of the current “judges” people run away and start looking for the real thing.

Some kid w a webcam on utube, shooting a talent contest, in the basement, against a dropcloth, would be more interesting than the current season.

  • Hugh Beaumont

I think the public has had enough of Minaj’s face – it’s unbearable.

  • CJ

    Nikki Minaj is killing it

  • Peach

One of the reasons fans are turned off could be Nikki Minaj! American Idol use to be a family watched show, that has changed. Who can forget Nikki Minaj’s mocking of the Catholic Religion in her so call performance!!

    Get a clue American Idol!
