Monsters vs. Aliens

via press release:

This Saturday, March 23, at 8 p.m., don’t miss the messiest, surprise-filled slimefest of the year, Nickelodeon’s 26th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards. Hosted by Josh Duhamel, this year’s live telecast will feature performances by Pitbull, featuring Christina Aguilera, as well as Ke$ha with their respective hits “Feel This Moment” and “C’Mon.” A star-studded presenter lineup has been confirmed to hand out the coveted orange blimp awards (to be announced tomorrow!). Kids can still cast their votes until March 23 in 22 total categories across all of Nickelodeon’s digital outlets, including Nick.com, Nick Mobile app as well as Nickelodeon’s Facebook page and Twitter feed.
Immediately following Saturday’s telecast, Nickelodeon debuts a special preview of its newest CG-animated series Monsters vs. Aliens at 9:30 p.m. (ET/PT). A co-production with DreamWorks Animation and inspired by the 2009 blockbuster feature film ($383 million worldwide gross), the new series follows the further adventures of the beloved monsters- B.O.B. (Eric Edelstein, Hotel for Dogs), the gelatinous blob without a brain; Link (Diedrich Bader, Office Space), the prehistoric fish-man; Dr. Cockroach (Chris O’Dowd, Bridesmaids), the half-man/half-insect mad scientist; and Susan (aka Ginormica) (Riki Lindhome, Gilmore Girls), the incredible growing woman-as they learn to adapt to a new world and work side by side with a bizarre group of aliens. In the half-hour special, “Welcome to Area Fifty-Something,” Susan, B.O.B., Link and Dr. Cockroach are stationed at Area Fifty-Something to protect the planet, when a lone alien, Coverton (Jeff Bennett, The Penguins of Madagascar) arrives and imprisons the President while making a permanent home on base.

Finally! Let’s hope Nick dosen’t treat this show like they do with Penguins & Kung Fu Panda. Airing it after the KCA’s is good.

  • iFive

Hope it gets good ratings, would love to see another show repeating besides FOP & Spongebob.

  • AniMatsuri

None of the original actors coming back to do the series. I figured at least Hugh Laurie or Will Arnett would have reprised their roles.

  • BL

At least they didn’t do Marvin Marvin after the KCAs. Sam and Cat should’ve been in that spot.

  • Josh

Nope should have been Raving Rabbids

  • Neil

TV Susan does not look like Film Susan.

  • Jon23812

A TV show based on one of the worst DreamWorks movies? This show is gonna bomb, and the animation is awful.

  • weirdfeline.tumblr.com

Sam & Cat doesn’t need that spot. It’s going to be a hit right off the bat.

  • Ryan

I was still hoping for Sam & Cat in that spot, I don’t know if I can wait until fall :(

  • AJ

They should have aired a special preview of Sam & Cat…. I don’t think this show is going to do well :/
