Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Eh, I think OUAT is fine. Obviously the ratings are down, but it is not like anything else is blowing it away on broadcast networks on Sunday nights. Plus the network is currently cashing in on a souvenir magazine and new book, along with DVDs and soundtrack. So the show is making some good money for ABC.

  • a p garcia

I didn’t realize there was so much competation on cable when OUAT and Revenge are on. I now think it would be best if GA is moved from Thursday to Sunday followed by Scandal and move OUAT to GA spot on Thursday followed by Revenge.

  • Jake

Nothing is going to get great ratings on sunday nights.

  • Phil

Why no one watched Family guy this week?

  • Cameron

I never missed an episode of season 1 o OUAT. Yet, I haven’t watched it since January since season. It’s a miss in my book, bland and boring. The curse being broken so early, killed it for me.

  • Patrick Gillease

Surprised to see OUAT and REVENGE falling like this. They’re the ONLY shows left on Already Been Canceled that I watch anymore, so I hope they survive. Can Bob Iger PLEASE fire Paul Lee already? He can’t run ABC to save his life – or his career! McPherson was better, regardless of who he was having affairs with!! If Bill Clinton can get away with it and successfully run America, so could a silly network exce. Bring back McPherson! As for ABC, live up to your name and CANCEL the rest of your crap, like RED WIDOW. Pure junk!

  • David Howell

I can definitely see Revenge joining the list of shows cancelled within a season of syndication. Renewal this go around? Probably fine. But if it takes the drops common to serialized dramas for another season? It’ll be pulling NBC sitcom numbers by next spring. Could ABC live with another year of even worse ratings to get a serial into syndication?

It’d be a gutsy move for ABC to cancel it this May, but it’s one I’d seriously consider.

  • frodo

    @David Howell

Stop repeating yourself, Revenge is not going anywhere, its almost certain to be renewed at this point.
ABC is struggling and Sundays are terrible for all the broadcast networks, Revenge comes in second in its time slot, that is good enough. Next season it will most likely get moved to a different day, ratings should stabilize and it will get renewed for a 4th for syndication purposes. This is currently one of the biggest shows on the international market, its huge in most of Europe, Japan, Australia, etc. No chance of it going anywhere, especially with these numbers.

  • Xavi

@Camero. Yes it was but is so much better please start. WAtching

  • TomZ

    @Phil

Probably they were all watching the walking dead :P maybe when the walking dead will end family guy, revenge and the good wife will rise.

  • karin

ABC needs a lot of news dramas next year and half seasons for OUAT and Revenge (if back)..
I fear next week ANC in fourth?

  • Moose

I have been watching “Once Upon a Time” from the beginning, so I am not a hater. That said, I don’t know what those who are complaining about OUAT’s schedule expect ABC to do. Not air the show until all of the award shows and sports programming goes by before they bring it back after the holiday break? Start airing the second half of the season starting in April? The show would still have “The Masters” to contend with.

I personally don’t think the scheduling is the issue. I think the show has a lot of problems.

I think the novelty of the show is wearing off.

I don’t like listening to whiny protagonists.

Characters go from ballsy to wimpy to ballsy at a moments notice. Pick a personality and stick with it.

They have too many characters and not enough screen time for all of them.

Henry is a complete turn off, and I am tired of the little pip squeak.

The only actor that can act worth a damn is the dude who plays Rumplestiltskin.

    Frankstein really? Enough said.

  • bluejays

Those numbers are simply awful, across the board. Soon Sunday night tv will be joining Friday in having to get special ratings allowances for the shows. 1.8′s at nine! For a supposed hit show like Revenge. Pretty dire.

So that’s Fridays, Sundays – and most shows at ten that now can’t hit anything like remotely decent ratings.

  • Matt

Call me optimistic, but I do believe ONCE will reach the 2.6-3.0 range by the end of the season towards its big sophomore finale. I also thing REVENGE will reach the 2.3-2.6 range for its sophomore finale too.

REVENGE and SCANDAL are 2 of the best prime time dramas on television. REVENGE is loaded with mystery and suspense, along with a huge cliffhanger and major secrets revealed every week. Same with SCANDAL – while SCANDAL is more and the secretive/dramatic side, it keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end of every episode. SCANDAL is the MVP this season. In the matter of a month it skyrocketed from a 1.8 and 6 million viewers, to a 2.8 and 8 million viewers. While REVENGE has slipped in the ratings, that is ALL of ABCs fault (scheduling it on the night of major telecasts) REVENGE is gradually making its way back up, and it should find its way back in the groove of things by the end of the season.

While I think ONCE has slipped this year, storyline-wise and ratings wise, it is also gradually finding its way back up, and with the mega finale this year, I’m expecting above a 3.0 and 11 million viewers!

I don’t think ABC will move OUAT & REVENGE from its slot next season too. Maybe Red widow should be given a chance as it has potential and as it is female-orientated it should either be sticked @10pm Sundays with revenge but far better @10pm Thursdays with Scandal as on Sunday 10pm it has generally no viewers. OUAT & REVENGE has potential to skyrocket so ABC may give its slots and give it chance to grow.
