WHAT: The excitement level is about to go off the charts on Univision’s hit reality/beauty competition “Nuestra Belleza Latina” (Our Latin Beauty) as 24 talented young Latinas are put to the test in a glamorous pageant setting during the first live gala of Season 7.
After two emotion-packed episodes, three international challenges and six contestants already eliminated, the 24 remaining candidates will now showcase their talent and beauty for the first time on stage before the celebrity judges and a live studio audience. And with three experienced beauty queens among the contenders this season – Miss Dominican Republic, Miss Colombia World and Miss Puerto Rico – the competition promises to be more intense than ever before.
Adding to the excitement, the always electric international reggaeton superstar Daddy Yankee will perform his hit single, “Limbo,” in a television world premiere.
Six additional contestants will be eliminated during the March 24 broadcast, and the remaining 18 willto the next phase of the competition, in which only 12 hopefuls will be left standing. For the first time ever in “Nuestra Belleza Latina” history, the Season 7 candidates have been divided into three separate groups led by the show’s celebrity judges: renowned beauty pageant coach Osmel Sousa, former Miss Universe Lupita Jones, and novela heartthrob Julián Gil. Once the 12 finalists have been determined, each group of four –strictly supervised by its corresponding judge– will be separated from the others and undergo rigorous training sessions reflecting each judge’s vision of what a true beauty queen embodies. At this point, the program’s entertainment factor will be kicked up a notch as Sousa, Jones, and Gil engage in an all-out battle to be the mentor of this year’s winner. Viewers will be able to engage with and support the judges on social by Tweeting with their respective hashtags, #NBLOsmel, #NBLLupita, and #NBLJulian.
