Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    Yikes CBS, worst overall ratings they had since the 2.5 Men forced shutdown 2 years ago

    Good enough for DWTS, will likely settle with mid 2s

    Great for Biggest Loser, still a gem for NBC. This is their The Bachelor

  • Melissa

    @s0303

    yikes, all the cbs comedies below a 2.0 now…

    None of CBS’s comedies were below 2.0 last night.

  • zerg

    Great for DWST, it will rate higher then this fall, ok for Castle..

    Horrible night for CBS, 2BG and Mike and Molly to series low, and the Voice is coming next week

    Ok for FOX

    btw Bates Motel got 1.2, not that great

  • Marina

    @John A, Not really the killer was revealed but no explanation why they did it

  • Charmed

    TCD will probably adjust down, but even if it does it still has a shot of renewal.

    P.S RSH, that’s your cue for that essay you’re been preparing all week!

  • JONNYSBRO

    Considering how dwts all stars bombed bigtime that these are good numbers for the show. People loved seeing people dance for the first time and it didn’t face the voice yet but still these are solid numbers. I think the all stars version only reached these when it hit the finale. I loved kellie, wynonna. Zedonya and Dorothy its a strong female season.

    The following is such a twisted scary show but very well done. Last night was crazy nutso.

  • SJ

    @Dodge Hickey

    CBS does that every year. They air 12 originals of all their shows in the fall whereas other networks only air 9-10. Springs on CBS are repeat central. I don’t know when they’ll realize it’s not really working out for them…

  • Peter

    Dancing with? Where are stars? Lame

  • Amy

    I’m not surprised that HIMYM did poorly. The engagement episode was great and then they followed it with badly written episodes.

  • tvwatcher

    I am glad Deception was up a bit for its finale. The series was starting to get really good in the last few episodes. The finale was nice, it answered the one BIG question, but raised a ton more. I wish NBC, given its current state, would give it another half season.

  • Petar Ivanov

    @Series lows for both 2 Broke Girls and Mike and Molly.

    CBS NEED TBBT RERUNS ON MONDAYS NOW!!!!!!!! I mean NOW! 2BG runs best with TBBT lead-in.

    Rules burn-off to friday or saturday with partners or friend me burn-off.

    Shocking bad ratings for both but for 2BG really now words. Again what the hell hapen. Worst CBS new Monday from 10-15 years i guess.

  • JONNYSBRO

    Btw the biggest loser those are great numbers as Jillian returned and this a dirt cheap show to produce. My question to all of you is how will the voice premiere next week:

    I say 12 million and 4.4 demo which is a good enough demo to beat idol.

  • Jeff

    Thinking many of the shows that appeal to younger viewers more (HIMYM, 2BG, H50) were down due to it being spring break for many. Next week will tell.

  • tahina

    The Following, in the end, everyone, I think, gets killed off by the serial killers..FBI?, fine thank you. Ridiculous show, yes, yet I keep watching it. Sad. :(

  • cadburyeasteregg

    I could see maybe Deception finishing up over the summer if NBC decided to just because the fans are crying loud enough, but I don’t see it as an actual TV show. Again, as the series continued, the focus became more and more about Larroquette’s character. I wish the show’s writing could have been better because I figured out the entire plot within a few episodes.

    Great numbers for DWTS! So happy this show is back. I still say part of what hurt it last fall was not just the All Stars but for me at least the name was different so my DVR didn’t record it. So I missed the first few shows. I’m sure that happened to others too and once you miss the beginning sometimes people don’t bother to start watching. Just a thought…

  • Matt

    Glad that ABC can manage to win 3 nights out of the week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. It really did double every other networks numbers last night.

    As you can see now, Castle does skew old. But, it is a monster with viewers against, H50.

    Castle and DWTS were both the nights most watched shows – by far.

    ABC has some work to do next year. Replacing its entire Tuesday lineup, and partially Wednesday/Sunday also, would be a good start.

  • ShakiraUsherJumptheshark

    The Voice wil return to lower ratings. I still have no idea who won on any season of that show LOL

  • s0303

    @melissa…that was obviously a typo…meant 3.0 :)
