Splash cast

Tonight the reality series Splash premieres on ABC. The premise is simple: celebrities attempt to perform Olympic style dives. The format is a hit internationally, but FOX's similar Stars in Danger: The High Dive bellyflopped to a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating on January 9. Splash's timeslot predecessor Celebrity Wife Swap premiered to a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating on February 26. So how will Splash do? Make your prediction.

Tonight it will do fine. This cheap show doesn’t need such a high rating to be profitable. But it will soon sink, once VOICE returns.

  • Unicorn

I predict 1.5. I personally would hope it would be lower but if a piece of garbage like Honey Boo Boo can be a hit then anything can. It is truly the decline of western civilization.

Waste of airtime. I thought ABC was better than this. Now they’re sinking to the level of NBC. Maybe if we’re lucky, they’ll cancel this show as quickly as they did ‘The One’ in 2006.

  • NBC Fan

A 6.4 rating in the metered market ratings.

  • Pavelsauce

I predict 1.7-1.8. It doesn’t seem like a show that would do well. Honestly, it looks like what should be a summer show.

  • Lisa

Looks like crap, has no buzz, and is going up against reasonably strong competition. Maybe a 1.2?

  • Marius

Would have been great as a summer series with Wipeout. Right now, it doesn’t make much sense.
