If NBC does not pull TNN immediately then clearly they have given up. Throwing away a precious post-Voice spot for a TNN finale is network suicide.

NBC is a disaster… There’s no way Go On, The New Normal, or Smash will be renewed. The Voice couldn’t give their comedies a big enough boost for a renewal. I can see Revolution crashing as well much like V, Law & order:LA, FlashForward did after a long hiatus. My guess is a 2.2 with drops each week. It will get renewed if it can averaged above 1.6/1.7.

Anyone who believes Smash still has a chance is in denial, especially considering it’s being moved to Saturday nights… Season 1 was so good- really don’t know what happened there. TNN is as good as gone too.

  • SFX

Spielberg didn’t dissapoint us with Smash, he dissapointed us by bringing the show to NBC.

  • SFX

If The Voice starts out with 2hr shows on both monday and tuesday this will help out NBC by a lot. I foresee a lot of season highs from those shows mentioned earlier thanks to a The Voice lead in.

    @Marty
is it able to be shown if the game picked up viewers as it went on

If it was a big event, then that information might be included in the network’s press release. In this case, all you’re likely to see is the topline number (1.6 million viewers).

ABC may need to keep Body of Proof after DWTS. It seems to have potential of growth similar to how Castle has now become a dependable player for ABC. If Body of Proof airs in the Fall, it is possible it could beat Parenthood.

In my opinion, The Mindy Project is improving. I really like Ike who comes from MadTv. But the rest of the supporting players were also more tolerable as well. There were moments when I laughed out laugh. Mindy was more funny than Zooey on New Girl.

Regarding CBS, I really was not enthused about the Red team on NCIS:LA. They did not appeal to me and I feel a third series could be overkill. Golden Boy had its strongest episode to date, in my opinion. I feel it could make a good Summer program alongside Unforgettable.

Except that the shows getting a lead-in from The Voice also had it during the fall. There’s no way these shows (including The Voice) will be pulling bigger numbers than they did during the fall.

NBC’s comedies being up 100% next week (Go On 2.0, The New Normal 1.4) would be below all the fall airings and I still think those are optimistic predictions.

I don’t think Nashville can be compared to the likes of Smash. Those are 2 completely different shows & I do think Nashville will be back. Probably an initial 13 episode renewal & hopefully it’ll follow DWTS whether it stays on Mon or moves to Sun. Go On should just say goodbye along with TNN even if it sees a ratings bump when The Voice returns. I’m confident Revolution shouldn’t take too much of a hit when it comes back next week.

  • SFX

Ultima, correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t season finales usually higher rated?

  • SFX

Nashville should be considered a flop if you ask me. Nobody gave Chicago Fire much of a chance against it, but look where we are now.

  • SFX

Not necessarily meaning not always, but.. usually it does Bill? :p

Why is NBC so pathetic? With these CW-like ratings.

ABC tried it in the fall last year but it didn’t do that great.

  • TVMAN

@SFX. “Spielberg didn’t dissapoint us with Smash, he dissapointed us by bringing the show to NBC.” Ehh I would blame the writers. This season has been downright terrible. It’s has been getting worse and worse as season went on, the plot lines are getting out of hand and make no sense (same goes with some characters)

TMP was first offered to NBC. Its not that good but it not bad and if it were on NBC, it would be one of NBC’s most sucessful comedys.

BoP looks like it works as cheap post-DWTS filler. With the tax credit and the indirect syndication subsidy, it can’t cost much at all to ABC. And it’s not like the DWTS leadin means much of anything for another show nowadays. It’s been renewed with cancel-worthy numbers before, I suspect the economics are at least as appealing now to do it again!

The only thing is that if this season’s ratings are anything to go by, ABC could do with reducing DWTS to a winter run, which gets it out of the way of Voice. Batchelor and Batchelorette could have fall and spring runs respectively.

The post-Voice collapse of Go On/TNN is absolutely stunning. In a bad way.

BOP and GB both stayed where they were. No adjustments or anything. Really surprised me.

  • Phil

Whitney will beat everything that aired last night on NBC by itself with no help. I was always on the bubble about them keeping Go On but I think they should just get rid of it along with everything else that aired on Tuesday.

    Is Splash the real deal?

For fading shows with early finales? No.

For popular serialized shows where its known something big and important is going to happen or for reality competitions? Yes.

Getting one of those shows as a lead-in, or simply airing against repeats if other networks wrap up early can also lead to increased ratings.
