    Great for Grey’s and Scandal – they have become a powerhouse together. I hope ABC places high-profile DOUBT at 8PM, with Stephen Coogan and Carla Gugino. I was wondering when Grey’s would be back up with 9 million viewers. Scandal is DEFINITELY the MVP this season… it rose from averaging a 1.8 with 6 million viewers to averaging a 2.8 and 8 million viewers.

    Congrats Grey’s, winning on a night when nothing else was new. What a show!

    Cancel Community already. It sucks without Dan Harmon. I swear it feels like the network is airing them out of order. Nothing is making any sense.

    >1.0 Equals renewal on every and all network EVER.
    We all know that.

    step by step Batb :-)

  • frodo

    Beauty at a .6 means that it will most likely be renewed over Carrie which has been regularly getting a .4.

    CW are not going to cancel everything. BATB will be back next season. Sure it has a great lead in but it also faces tough competition and does ok for the CW which has struggled with their new shows.

    Also noticing that this show is getting more and more buzz so I think the .6 or .7 will hold.

    Thank you Grey’s for the rebound and winning the night! Last nights episode was good in my opinion!

  • Michael

    Frodo, CW isn’t as predicable as you’re making it seem. While, it makes sense for CW to renew Beauty over Carrie, look at Secret Circle fate on the network, as an example. Secret Circle was ahead of a couple shows on the network, yet Mark Pedowitz ended the series!

    @AlexL
    Why is CBS airing these basketball games with such low ratings?!

    Because the tournament overall has really good ratings (topped all sports, including the NFL, in postseason advertising revenue last year).

    @Michael

    Scandal really found its footing with ABC! I remember when this show was struggling to reach 1.9 in the demo.

    Before its surge, the show was averaging a 2.0. It did not “struggle to reach” a 1.9, which was its series low.

    @Matt

    Scandal is DEFINITELY the MVP this season… it rose from averaging a 1.8 with 6 million viewers to averaging a 2.8 and 8 million viewers.

    Scandal has never hit a 1.8, so please explain how it “averaged” that number. As I said above, it averaged a 2.0 before rising.

    Oh yeah, because American Idol, NCAA Basketball, Wife Swap, The Vampire Diaries, Community, 1600 Penn, Glee, Beauty and the Beast, and Scandal were all reruns, right? :roll:

  • Ice Mountain

    At least Whitney with the 1.0 stayed over 3 million and didn’t get beat by The CW by two full demo points. What’s the excuse now Community lovers?

    Beauty and the Beast held up in viewership very well looks like the show has just been established.

    “BATB is still up compared to last week and it even got a 0.7 in the later half hour (in preliminaries)”
    Those half hour ratings mean nothing, it could’ve easily been adjusted to 0.6 in both half hours in the final ratings.

  • Bizarro

    I’m not surprised that Beauty got adjusted down but it still is up from the last couple of weeks. If it continues to get .6′s and the occasional .7 and stabilizes there then it has a good chance for renewal. If it drops again then well not so much. It will be moved to fridays regardless and last nights ep was really good much better than TVD which I fell like is starting to get a little stale again. I’ve not been hyped about TVD for a while now like I used too. Next weeks ep of Beauty looks really good too hope it stays up. Now Tess knows Catherine’s secret and I can’t wait to see whats going to happen next!

  • rob60990

    Tying the CW and losing to the CW are both equally very sad.

  • Dillan

    When I saw BATB get that 0.7 earlier, I thought a renewal was very likely, but an entire tenth makes a difference for The CW and now I think its a goner again.

    Great for TVD!

  • JulieDawn

    @Halloween

    This is not last season and BATB is not TSC. I refuse to compare two completely different things in a completely different year, with other completely different factors in the overall mix. :)

  • halloween

    @JulieDawn except CW chose a crime procedural and less breaks this season…so they expected higher ratings than TSC…those 2 factors are big too…and they may have expected Kristen Kreuk to be a bigger draw

    Except it wasn’t an entire tenth. Total viewership was down ~3%, A18-49 viewershp was probably around the same; the rating just happens to be around 0.65.

  • Michael

    @Halloween, why would they expect Kristen Kreuk to be a bigger draw? It’s not like she’s an A list actress.

  • halloween

    @Michael She is familiar to the CW audience for being on Smallville for a decade…and of course Chun-Li ;) I’m not saying a huge draw…but she is better than an unknown lead

  • Michael

    @Ultima, I always look forward to your comments on this site!
