    CH2164: “anyone actually got a link that says BATB is doing well overseas??”

    This was stated in the CBS Management Discusses Q3 2012 Results – Earnings Call Transcript which unfortunately can’t be read without paying for it. However, the site I found it on did show in the background while prompting me to subscribe, so I can confirm that’s what it said.

    However, it did NOT say the show was “doing well overseas.” What it said was that was what CBS Studios SOLD the show for in the overseas market at the upfronts.

    How the show is ACTUALLY DOING overseas is unknown as far as I know. I can’t find any links to say one way or the other.

    BatB like Nikita is a known property and is expected to sell well overseas…other new shows could take a season or two to catch on overseas

  • CH2164

    @Ice Mountain

    sweet thanks

  • Ekras

    0.6 still enough to save BATB – As long as it stays above a 0.4 it should be safe. Saynora TCD!

  • Raul

    Was hoping Grey’s Anatomy hit a series low!

  • CH2164

    and @Richard thanks for that very informative :)

  • Rachel

    BaTB will be renewed over TCD.

  • Rachel

    TCD can’t even pull in 1 million viewers.

    BATB is certainly causing a huge buzz in Ireland, the UK & Europe every night it airs whether on your side or our side of the world Twitter comes alive, It is FAST becoming my guilty pleasure. I’ve also seen tweets that it is starting to air soon in India, South Africa, Australia & New Zealand. As far as I know 19 or 20 countries have bought it in total. It has gotten better week on week whereas HOD aired its first season here and didn’t cause any waves and the 2nd season hasn’t been advertised anywhere as yet, which leads me to wonder will it be aired here at all, also no buzz on Cult or TCD on this side of the water either!!!! I hope BATB gets a 2nd season and rather that a crime procedural we get a new little “scooby gang” as Tess and possibly Evan come into the circle of trust, people seem to like that!!!!

    I appreciate the knowledge Ice Mountain you clearly know what you’re talking thank you for putting them in check.

  • Richard Steven Hack

    Ice Mountain: “Nothing you said really I can really agree with or waste my time responding to because I know what the hell I’m talking about.”

    Which means you can’t answer the facts I cited.

  • BigFlop

    @Ice Mountain
    and what about Scandal without Greys?? Let see who win next week!!
    Scandal will never get 4.1 in demos or 12 millions, only in your dreams!
    Also, I have read a lot of people who was disappointed with last night episode, it will slide a little next week.

  • Dillan

    @Iced Mountain:

    Actually, Ringer didn’t come back because its ratings were low and because SMG was pregnant.

    But the show was definitely a success overseas.

  • Ice Mountain

    @ Luis

    EXACTLY!

    @ halloween & 1976GG

    Yeah and ironically its selling similar to Nikita’s first season overseas so that’s a good sign as well. I believe Ireland was cited as one of its strongest countries in Europe. It’s doing well in at least 74% of its international markets based on those reports.

    @ CH1264 & Larry

    No problem and thank you guys for listening. I’m not trying to prove anybody wrong here just to be right I just want people to know how The CW is run since its not the same as the other broadcast networks.

    @ Richard Steven Hack

    No I just refuse to answer to someone who clearly is not knowledgeable about the way the network is run because then I’ll have to write an essay just to point out the basics.

  • Ash

    @ Rachel

    And you know BaTB will get renewed over TCD because…..? Unless your the CW executive, you don’t know what they will do. Plus it doesn’t matter if TCD cant pull 1 million viewers. I think it’s been stated multiple times that number of viewers doesn’t matter.

  • Brian J

    @Billy:

    It probably won’t be–not unless NBC wants to give it a very shortened final season and then replace it with something new at midseason. At this point, pretty much anything might do better than Community, and even if it doesn’t, it might be better for NBC to simply give a new show a chance to work out those early creative kinks most shows seem to have, particularly NBC shows. Hell, why doesn’t NBC test the limits of social media as advertising by relying mostly on that to support the show, at least at first?

    Seriously, NBC owns only a small slice of the show, and it’s already got enough episodes for syndication. What’s the point?

    The bigger question might be, if NBC renews ANY of its comedies at all, what go with the one that gets renewed, which will probably be Parks?

  • Ice Mountain

    @ BigFlop

    You almost had something there but Scandal already aired without a new Grey’s in front of it a few weeks ago and still did very well.

    @ Dillan

    I’m sure SMG’s pregnancy probably had something to do with it but if the show was successful they would’ve found a way to throw that into a storyline. I read the reports last season and I saw nothing where Ringer was doing well overseas it didn’t even clear 40% of its markets.

  • Ash

    @BigFlop

    So you read that some people didnt like an episode of Scandal and now it’s going to slide next week? What if those people don’t have Neilson boxes? Then it doesn’t matter what they thought of the episode at all since their viewership doesn’t count.

  • aciel

    Scandal is the most overated show on.TV nowadays its became the most hyped up show on.ABC I mean the show.is.okay but not that great. Scandal got luckey it.has the best lead in it.has no.competition and plus it gets big promotion
