Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Happy to see BatB rise. The last couple episodes have really been amazing! Hopefully the audience continues to grow until the finale.

  • Markitos

Good for Grey’s and Scandal :D

  • Camille

Scandal did a 2.8 in the demo, not a 2.7!

  • Corporate Mumbo Jumbo

Excellent for Glee, ABC dramas and the Vampire Diaries. Everything else: MEH

  • Ben

Man I hope the bear doesn’t sink his teeth into Community. I wasn’t sure about the show after Dan Harmon’s departure, but last night’s episode definitely seemed to have some of the old charm back.

  • Claudia

BEAST IS ROARIIIIIIIIINGGGGGGG TVBYTHENUMBERS, TRENDING IN TWITTER, GETGLUE AND UP AGAIN IN RATINGS…..YAY FOR us beasties!!!!!!!

  • Michael1

Just a thought? Why doesn’t CBS farm out the remaining 25% of NCAA tourney games out to NBC on Thursday Nights? How is that different from airing the other 75% of games on Turner-owned stations? It would be the ultimate win-win. CBS can get better ratings with repeat programming, and NBC has just demonstrated that they’d be better off.

  • Andrew Dias

    Half-hours?

  • Billy

It is very interesting with CBS basically out of the mix that the other networks basically did not pick up any viewers.

  • forg

Wife Swap did decent, best 8 PM numbers ABC had in a while

Idol could still tie Greys in the finals but yikes under 3 for the first time I guess (did it go below 3 in season 1?)

Anyway, great night for Shonda dramas. ABC should not change this combo, just focus on finding the right 8 PM show

Feast like the court storming crowd from an upset underdog on these half hour ratings.

But if you draw conclusions from the CBS numbers, I will mock you personally.

    @zerg,

lol. Problem with even comparing 1960’s to even early 2000’s was at least their was room to fall. Now we are getting to an area where the ratings are going to easily be in the 0’s in a year or two. Absolutely no room to fall anymore.

  • Oley

Scandal was amazing last night with Lisa Edelstein playing Liv´s client. That was fine acting. Numbers are really great and i´m glad for it.

  • Billy

Community is just a dead show. It could not pick up a single TBBT viewer last night to at least try the show.

If NBC renews Community next season they are basically waiving the white flag on comedy next season. They should renew P&R and start over with all new comedies next season.

“Were there local preemptions for basketball on CW?”

No information to us at this point.

  • Billy

American Idol below a 2.8 with little or no competition last night has got to be scary for FOX. That is just a dying show.

  • TimsDale4ever

AI is about to slip off the radar…

  • laddie

communitys episode last night episode had me rolling.. shame nobody saw it.. but me neither had to watch it today, an only hope community will be renewed by default (being the best of the worst, by everything doing worst)

    man sad numbers all around..

  • Melissa

    @forg

Idol could still tie Greys in the finals but yikes under 3 for the first time I guess (did it go below 3 in season 1?)

I’m hoping for Idol to adjust up to a 2.9 and Grey’s to a 3.0. I don’t think Idol went this low in season 1.

  • JJF

Okay numbers for ABC, but definitely indicative of a weakening night. They need to strengthen their schedule a bit.
