How Will 'Revolution' Return Tonight? (Poll)

Revolution comes back tonight after several months on hiatus. Can it recapture its former ratings glory? It premiered to a 4.1 rating at the start of the season, but slid pretty dramatically, with its last episode earning a 2.9 back in November. The Voice is also returning tonight for its spring premiere, so it should have the benefit of a generous lead in, but a nearly 4-month hiatus could lose the interest of even the most committed viewer. So what do you think? Make your predictions below and tell us why in the comments!

I want it to do badly.. seriously. If it does well then they’ll keep having stupidly long hiatus’ in the future. It deserves a loss after 4 months.

  • andri

Fans coming out of the woodwork in bundles. 8 million viewers prorated nilsens certainly unsurprising.

  • Samuel

The Voice did not do well in it’s premiere last year. Almost all of the comments were “Wow, I expected more.” Now that they have Usher and Shakira, neither of whom have had a hit single in several years, the ratings are destined to do worse than that. I’m expecting an X Factor-esque 3.6 or so.

  • Samuel

Also, I do not live under a rock. There is simply not much hype for it. Yes, there might seem to be if you watch NBC often, however, there’s no magazine covers, billboards, or even blog posts discussing it. Heck, there isn’t even a ratings prediction poll on here.

    2.5 or less

I have no idea, but NBC advertised it during Talking Dead which made me laugh quite a bit.

As soon as the big networks can remember to not put a brand new serialized show on a 4 month hiatus for no reason whatsoever, they are going to be destined to fail. Then they’ll sit and wonder why we aren’t watching. Newsflash, we were watching, then you took it off for some crap for 4 months. I’ve moved on to another show that didn’t leave me in the lurch. You might want to work on building a loyal fan base over a year or two, before you start screwing them. I’m actually shocked that Grimm made it past the first season with that crap, and then they did it again this year, oh wait, they buried it on Friday nights. Do you even want it to succeed, NBC? I’m telling you right now, if The Voice wasn’t on tonight as your lead in, you wouldn’t be getting half the people you’ll end up getting to watch after 4 months. I will be shocked if it isn’t way down from the midseason finale.

I’m going with a 2.3-2.7, aiming at the lower end. However that may be more my wishful thinking, since I think this show SHOULD crash, given how crappy it is. I’d like to see it doing Dollhouse numbers, because Dollhouse was WAY better than this nonsense.

I think these long hiatuses could be a good idea, instead of taking breaks every couple of weeks in the later half of the season, it gets really annoying, like with elementary recently it took a break recently came back for just ONE episode then went on a break again, it’s ridiculous, sure you might have a to wait a while for a series to come back this way but at least when it does come back they generally run the episodes uninterrupted. and as for the breaks causing a loss in ratings, every series on network tv (apart from summer series) takes a 4 month break every summer so I really don’t see what the problem is.

    2.7 on this one.

@Samuel You’re delusional. The Voice is guaranteed 4.0+. There doesn’t need to be magazines or billboards, lol, it’s the type of show people know is on. Plus, NBC has done a whole lot of promotion for it. It premiered to a 4.2 in the fall. I don’t understand how that can be considered low nowadays. Not to mention, in just a week it was already up to a 4.6, and ended the season just shy of a 5.0. Meanwhile, Idol premiered to a 6.0 and hit a 2.9 on Thursday. By today’s standards, by NBC’s standards, and by competition show standards nowadays, The Voice is leading the pack.

Everyone, I mean EVERYONE has been waiting for this to return.

  • Pepper

3.2, but will slide to mid 2s by the end of the season

  • CBS#1

Samuel just can’t stand it that The Voice will surpass Idol after already tossing aside XFactor.

Look at his bogus comments “Shakira and Usher don’t have a hit record for several years”. YES YOU DO LIVE UNDER A ROCK
