Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

I’m really surprised about the ratings slump OUAT is experiencing. I thought last night’s episode was excellent. For some reason, people just aren’t watching. Has the magic left Storybrooke again?

  • JacobYates

    Walking Dead anybody?

  • Cyrax86

Wonder why the uptick for Red Widow. Not that it affects its survival chances but I’m surprised a serialized show like that can gain viewers…

  • A true tv fan since 1986

CBS seriously needs to move The Mentalist back to Thursdays.

  • TV Addict

Once Upon a Flop, or Flop Upon a Time?
Jk, I always find it funny that people add flop to names of shows that get semi decent ratings.
This show isn’t as good as season 1, but it’s not terrible.
I’ll watch it flop around for a few more seasons.

  • zth

Hmm, next week the 9PM hour will be one of the most competitive in the last few years: the finale of Walking Dead, which should approach a 6.5, and the season premiere of Game of Thrones.

  • Liam

Ouch for ONCE. The show has been really good this year and the writing has gone down a little bit, but has improved the last few weeks. I really hope that the last 4 episodes of the season will bring viewers back.

  • Mickey

Good to see Revenge steady even though OUAT dropped. That says something about its solidity. Hopefully once this season of TWD wraps, it’ll have an easier time of it.

My prediction for OUAT was spot on (if it doesn’t adjust.) I think the show is in danger of too many secondary characters and side stories. I’m invested in the main stories and main characters, and there are already plenty of those. There are only so many stories and characters I can care about in one show.

@A true tv fan since 1986

Why should CBS move Mentalist on Thursdays? If it will be renewed, they might actually ship it to Fridays.

  • http://tvbythenumbers.com Bill Gorman

“Isn’t it time to move OUAT down to likely renewal also considering its not doing any better then revenge now?”

You may be confused about how TV networks make decisions. It’s all relative.

Even recently, OUAT ratings are well above the ABC scripted show average.

Networks do not cancel their above average rated shows.

  • Spike

well thats what u get for being an idiot ABC

  • Pyxee

Sad for OUAT, used to be a great show. Now the cast is just too enormous. Every week it’s like the writers spun a roulette wheel to decide the focus of the episode, and build that weeks plot around them. Revenge seems to be trying to drag itself back on track, at least it doesn’t seem to be hemorrhaging viewers anymore.

  • badman

    @ TV Addict

try and add flop now in your name!! stupid!!

  • zth

By the way, it’s pretty interesting that there are a ton of commercials for The Voice on the internet, which are necessary since nobody watches NBC right now.

  • Cle

Atleast Rv8 was flat.. Hope it remain flat for next week and start to rise.. next week would be one of the hardest week for Rv8.. high competition.. Hope it gets a 3rd season and 4th too..

  • frodo

Not too good for ABC but its expected, ever since those three weeks where they lost their viewers to the NFC, Golden Globes and Grammys. Once and Revenge have fallen and it does not look like they will rebound any time soon.

Sunday at 21 is a tough slot, you had Downton Abby, now you have the Walking Dead and the Bible, also the Good Wife, Shameless, Celebrity Apprentice, Kim and Khloe, Game of Thrones(Next Sunday), etc.

With The Walking Dead, Shameless,The Bible and Kim and Khloe all ending next Sunday.

Revenge should be able to rise up a bit and stay in the 2.0-2.1 range.

Once Upon a Time and Revenge will be renewed for season 3. In my opinion Revenge needs to be moved away from this time slot.

  • anotherhour

Wow at Family Guy & American Dad! Both were really good last night, Wouldnt be surprised if The Amazing Race levels off to a 2.2, Wasnt all that great of a leg last night

  • MichaelChickless

The Sunday over-runs are a mess for the Mentalist.

  • Cle

    @frodo
yes Rv8 needs to be moved from sunday 9pm.. in my opinion it will do good at its previous season’s slot Wed 10pm..

  • cimmer

I think OUAT will probably adjust up a bit to 2.2 but low two’s is where it’s gonna stay. It’ll be interesting to see whether it can maintain the low 2’s next season or if it slips farther. There’s a chance it won’t get a full season next year depending on how things go for ABC. It doesn’t have a lot of competition, on broadcast. It does have some competition on cable that’s probably hurting it though.
