Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    im so shocked to see ouat only get 6.85 million viewers while it used to get over 9 million viewers i didnt expect it go this low till the fifth season. well revenge is still stable but still its sad that both shows have sunk so low

  • heba

    @tommy m
    it also has a lot to do with the scheduling

  • Pip

    OUAT had 7.30 Million Viewers (more then last week), not 6.85.

  • ZmaX

    @DenverDean

    yeah, that is possible lol

    I agree, the simplicity of S1 was what was so great, it was direct, just Emily vs The Graysons. But i’m glad he’s going back to that. Now that Emily knows Victoria’s Big Secret it’ll be great to see how she messes with her.

  • Tommy M.

    @ heba, if that we true ABC would have never been able to have a hit show on Sundays since they have scheduled Sundays the same for as long as I can remember. Desperate Housewives thrived on Sundays for years, and Grey’s Anatomy was launched on Sundays. Both shows endured this kind of scheduling. More competition is a more viable excuse than scheduling is.

  • alex

    lmbo, Family Guy did better in demos then Revenge.I wonder how long it’s going to be when Revenge is at 1.5 and 5 million viewers.I suspect soon,probably next season lol.People have moved on and will continue too,even if you moved it.It won’t help.It’s past it’s expiration date.It should of been one and done.there is nothing else to do, but cancel it after next season,what a Flop.

  • danny94

    @ Bob – Season 1 of Scandal only had 7 episodes not 13

  • Burk

    @alex,

    looks like you need definition on what flop really means. People throw that word around for everything like idiots lol.

    I’m not a big revenge fan but i still know these facts

    -Revenge has international popularity
    -Other countries are buying its rights to produce their own version. (Turkey just created its own version of Revenge).
    -It has social media popularity as well
    -Lastly, these numbers are normal for a public network now. Its no secret that cable shows are greater than >>>>>>> public network shows these days.

    @Burks

    Lmao. Good points, there are really dumb comments on this website, I’m not sorry to say.

  • BJH

    I love OUAT, but blame the downward trend on this season’s meandering story. Some episodes are A+ and stand out. Others are boring, drawn-out and ultimately distractions. Sophomore slump? I don’t think so, but I think the writers are creative enough to figure out where to go. I’ll keep watching as long as Regina continues to walk the fine line of good&evil.

  • Melissa

    @Burk

    It has social media popularity as well

    Fan Excuse Bingo at its finest!

  • ally

    People Should stop being so hard on OAUT And Revenge, lots of shows suffer sophmore slumps like …
    Lost
    Desperate Housewives
    Friday Night Lights
    Heroes
    Ugly Betty

  • JacobYates

    I don’t understand why people think OUAT is in danger. Its average ratings are still good and even with the recent ratings drop, its ratings are not terrible. People just think they are after a year of ratings in the 3s.

  • Jim

    Once is losing some viewers due to morons who are confused because there is an actual storyline instead of fairy tales of the week, but mostly it’s due to ABC’s hideous scheduling. Now it’s going to be off the air for a full month. It’ll get a 3rd season, but it’ll be the last unless ABC acquires some executives that aren’t complete idiots.

  • Burk

    @Melissa,

    Social media popularity is EVERYTHING now, if you didn’t know.

    There was an article here a few months ago about how Nielsen wanted to include social media interactions in the ratings.

    Excuse what, honey? lol

  • JacobYates

    @Burk
    B-I-N-G-O!!!

  • Alex

    I watch OUAT and I refuse to catch it on Sundays and hope for its cancellation.
    Ever since “The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter”, I’ve slowly started to dislike so many of the things. Just trying to power threw the rest of the season or possibly a season 3 to see how many of them gets killed :).

  • JacobYates

    @Burk
    I’m sorry, but go to the front page and look for the article that says, Nielsen Ratings won’t include Twitter and read that. Then shut up.

  • heba

    @alex
    dont be troll

  • Melissa

    @ally

    People Should stop being so hard on OAUT And Revenge, lots of shows suffer sophmore slumps like … Lost

    …Lost’s second season was its best.
