Robert's rejiggered his prediction table and reduced the number of distinct prediction categories. That has several advantages.

One disadvantage though is that small prediction changes are no longer able to be headlined. That's less of a problem for him, he only comes up with one headline a week. The Cancellation Bear has to come up with five.

That's why The Cleveland Show finally moves from "likely to be canceled" to "certain to be canceled" this week.

Next week, the bear has another trick up his sleeve.

Better to Follow The Bear, Than Be Chased By Him. This season you can follow the Cancellation Bear on Twitter via @TheCancelBear. The Cancellation Bear will retweet all the Renew/Cancel Index post titles and links as well as engage in a little more back and forth banter than we do on our standard @TVbytheNumbers Twitter feed.

*shows no longer on the air have their Renew/Cancel Index "frozen" at the point they left the schedule.

From now through the end of the broadcast season in May, the Renew/Cancel Index values will only be calculated using new episodes airing during 2013. However, until new episodes of a show air in 2013, I will keep the "old"  Fall predictions in the table.

Want to know what the Fox Renew/Cancel Index table looked like at the end of the Fall season? Click here.

Notes:

  • :oops: - certain to be cancelled by May, 2013
  • :cry: :cry:- more likely to be cancelled than renewed by May, 2013
  • :| :| :| - toss up between renewal or cancellation by May, 2013
  • :) :) :) :) - more likely to be renewed than cancelled by May, 2013
  • :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: - certain to be renewed by May, 2013

The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).

(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

    so will Clevelands family now move to Family Guy in season 12 now or 13, if they didn’t get enough notice?

  • Ted Craig

    @JacobYates

    Which part of network executives lie don’t you understand?

  • randyfraz

    And yet they’re going to keep Bob’s burgers. Please, Cleveland is so much funnier.

  • JacobYates

    @Ted Craig
    The main reason Terra,Nova was cancelled was because of the production issues. Not the cost or profitability. It was supposed to air a preview after American Idol in May 2011 but the CGI wasn’t ready in time. It couldn’t get a full season order due to issues with the CGI and filming locations. FOX May have felt that they would only get 13 episodes a season and can’t continue to make money like that. That only works in the first season. While they could have worked out the links for season 2, FOX didn’t think they could. It’s unfortunate the series was plagued by ineptitude, causing it to end before its time.

    Kinks not links

    My daughter and myself have given up on the Following.It is the same thing every week. Thats gets old. No real new story line. Love Bones. It is the best of the best. The same actors for years that what makes a story the best.

  • Hardline_Pro

    Then maybe Cleveland can come back to Family Guy. :P

  • HV

    Oh, “House Rules” has been renamed “The Gabriels”.

  • HAPPY!

    @HV
    I have a few questions about your schedule:
    What about the new animated show “Murder Police”? It doesn’t appear to be on your schedule

    What is the point of leaving Glee on Thursdays and launching a new show on Friday? I would swap them and put The List Thursdays at 9.

    What will you air after Bones when The Following is on hiatus (remember that The Following can only have 15 episodes a season)?

  • Michael

    Heh, when the Cleveland Show gets canceled, Family Guy will make an episode of Cleveland returning back to Quahog, that will be cool, however I could never get into the Cleveland Show. Also I don’t know why but Bones is the only modern police show I could never get into. I also think Glee deserves to be canceled that show is stupid, however either fox wants Glee on to annoy people, or it is still strangely getting good ratings. Why watch somebody sing every episode. Ugh.

  • Dan

    @Mia – My guess is sometime in the next production season, Cleveland and his family will move back to Quahog and maybe some of Cleveland’s characters can move back too, Family Guy doesn’t have too many characters left so it could be a good thing.

  • Petar

    Better for FOX Seth Macfarlane sitcom king and JJ Abrams sci fi king make hit shows or they will be in danger.

    “Dads” looks good. Buzz is there and i am sure will premire after afc championship or even super bowl. Its multi cam too. His shows are really funny. Ted was big success. The same writers so i guess will be amazing.

    “Human” looks good. Buzz is there cast is great and Karl Urban is too good to be true for network tv. In deadline read opinions that script is the best from drama side.

    I won’t be surprise if next season FOX dads and human are last season CBS hits 2BG and POI! That can save them.

  • Andy G

    I like Touch :(

    It’s gotten really good and suspenseful this season.

  • HV

    @HAPPY!
    Oh. I looked to see if Fox had any new animated series and I couldn’t find anything. And I didn’t know that about The Following. I’ll adjust that. Is that the same for Bones (because you mentioned it too)?

  • HV

    Oops sorry. Misread what you said. Never mind about the question about Bones.

  • HAPPY!

    @HV
    I found an article about Murder Police, the new animated show, but the site isn’t letting me post the link
