I am glad TGW had a great episode on Sunday. Thank goodness TGW has new episodes 4 in a row. I would be TGW will keep the 1.7 ratings for next week episode.

TGW needs to have new episodes in a row. That is how it will get a solid fanbase.

IMO when TGW was up against Downton Abbey they lost a portion of there supporters. I for one watch DA and dvr TGW.

  • John A

For all the whining about ABC killed its Sunday lineup OUAT and Revenge have been new 3 weeks and still arent rising. People have lost interest in both obviously.

  • Gloria

Where are Monday’s ratings. You are late with them. That is so uncool.

  • Paulo PT

I was talking about viewers and not the leading actress of TGW!

    @John A

But in my opinion that is also because when people missed an episode or two or lost the momentum of the show, they moved onto other Tv programs. I mean on Sunday you have so many things to watch especially at 21. I know a lot of people who have gotten frustrated with the schedule and moved on to watching the Walking Dead, Downton Abby, Shameless, the Bible, Dexter, etc. Its not fun having to stop and start with a show so many times during one season. IMO season 1 of Revenge was better and that is a factor too but I really think the Sunday schedule is not working for a show like Revenge. Cable offers an uninterrupted weekly schedule and many people prefer that.

For instance my cousin is waiting for Revenge to finnish its season so she can watch it back to back. I think once season 3 starts, a lot of the viewers will be back.

CBS should have pre-empted “The Mentalist”, have the NCAA post-game run until 8 P.M. EDT, and thus, local late newscasts would have started on-time in the East.

If I were the general manager of a CBS affiliate, I certainly would have sent a message of complaint to the network.

It’s one thing if my late news got pushed back 46 minutes for live coverage of a political convention, space launch, or a breaking news story. I (and many viewers) can understand that.

    But college basketball??

  • Joseph

“The Bible” and “Walking Dead” have been doing a number on broadcast shows, week after week.

Sunday nights have become a disaster area for broadcast TV this season (except for NBC during the Fall), first with football and now with “Bible”/”Walking Dead”.

    John A,

because people stop caring. most people’s lives dont revolve around tv shows and if a show is gone for so long or is constantly being interrupted in the middle of the season, eventually, some people just stop caring and lose interest all together. even if the last episode was good.

  • Josh

I really wish that Revenge would adjust up. ABC really messed up by putting it on hiatus for all the stupid awards shows. Hope it climbs upwards and gets back into the 2’s soon

  • John A

Missed a Episode? Thats a lame excuse these days. Dont people have DVR or they could watch online or just download it via torrent.

  • frodo

Not everybody DVR’s or downloads a show. Lots of people just wait for the season to be over and watch it than. There are too many quality shows on TV these days, especially on a Sunday. I watch Game of Thrones, Homeland, Revenge, The Good Wife, Dexter, The Walking Dead, Shameless, Vikings, Downton Abby(not anymore) and Boardwalk Empire. All Sunday shows, I can only watch 1 or 2 live, the rest I just watch once the season ends or when I have a bit more time.

    angel totally agree with you!
& Long live the Mentalist!!! I SOOO hope they won’t cancel it! this is the the almost only show I follow religiously

  • JR35

Just a note about OUAT- yes, it dropped sizably (four tenths in one week in January) but since then, it’s been in the 2.2-2.4 range, so it’s been consistent in that regard.

Season to date, it’s at a 2.85 18-49 rating, compared to the 3./3 rating it was at for the first 18 episodes last season. So, roughly a 13.5% drop, which is reasonable.

I would agree, though, that it would not be good if it drops further

Please let us all stop pretending! I beg of you!
    – We all know the “DEATH SLOT”.
    – We all know, that The Mentalist is in THE WORST SLOT of all CBS’s shows!
    – We all know, that in order for us to watch our show, we must record
at least 3 to 4 shows instead of 1, so those shows get “free” ratings.
    – We all know, that The Mentalist’s fans had 2 choses: we must record
The Good Wife, or suffer through it life, when it gets into our 10pm
slot, TAKING AWAY our PRIME TIME Nielsen’s ratings, since we never know
    when our shows starts.
    – We all know, that last Sunday The Good Wife took from us 46 min. of PPIME
TIME ratings, leaving us with only 14 min. of PRIME TIME ratings.
    – We all know that only the PRIME TIME ratings count, (make money).
    – So, when we, The Mentalist’s fans give our Nielsen’s ratings for “free”
to The Good Wife’s show, it would be very nice of its fans at least thank
us, instead pretending as if no one really knows what is going on, right?
