Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

  • Samunto

    Even the total viewers for The Voice are impressive.
    Very good for Revolution!

  • BG

    I see the voice going down from here tho. It was not that good. and By the end of this season I am sure that overall the ratings will be down from last season.

  • Mon

    LOLs at DWTS. Dancing is so 1970s!

  • Juan

    Wow at the crash of DWTS, big fall, obviously voice took viewers from it and just about everyhing, I watched and gotta say that I love shakira so much

  • halloween

    looks like Bones will end next season with those numbers

  • PHIL

    How come the Voice gets 4.7 and the other singing shows are doing poorly.

  • BigBrotherFan

    I knew THE FOLLOWING would dip but no matter what the haters say a 2.3 is the best FOX has seen in that slot since 24 and thats on the LOW END of the shows numbers with the VOICE premire factored in.
    Surprised the VOICE AND REV premired better than I thought. Revolution is really lead in dependent, though. It would CRASH without THE VOICE (see smash).

    Dancing With THE Z LIST went DOWN abc should move it to sunday and alernate between The Batchelor and that.

    Good for Castle fans, I supposed.

    CBS is getting hurt on MONDAYS and I think it’s time to move 50.

    I’m surprised TCD is holding on to that .4 I would of thought it fall to a .3 I guess..You beaties do know that if that show was moved HERE it be LUCKY to get a .4! I hate both shows with a passion but the BEASTIES are insane thinking their show is not 100% leaned on TVD.

  • Simon

    @DenverDean
    NEVER judge upward or downward adjustments based one half hours.

  • halloween

    @PHIL America loves crap

  • Carmen

    Not unexpected really for the Voice. It will drift down to the mid to low 3’s in about 4-5 weeks.
    Revolution will be lucky to be able to hold a 2.0 by the end of the season.

  • Petar Ivanov

    All 10 pm shows on Monday 2.0+ in demo when in other nights is hard to find even one 2.0+ is so bad. Tuesday 10 pm will look funny now.

    I am surprised that h50 and castle didn’t drop much.

  • DenverDean

    @Simon – I wasn’t speaking of adjustments, but a .5 drop in half hours is NOT a good sign. Obviously, a lot of ppl turned the channel.

  • SVU: Fringe Division

    OMG Revolution dropped…time for the hook? (sarcasm)

    Last night’s episode was really good, but the whole fall portion was moot with (spioler)’s death.

    I haven’t watched The Following since that weird Monday where I fell asleep during an episode and lost track of it, but I hope FOX repeats it during the Summer (at least on Friday or Sat [Hell, I'd take the Sat late night repeats]).

  • Louis

    Revolution better be glad The Voice is ahead of it, because that demo drop in the half hour is pretty bad. 2.9-2.4

  • NBC Fan

    @TVMAN

    NO ONE expected The Voice to beat Idol’s premiere number. I think the people who said the voice would beat Idol were talking about yearly averages.

  • DeanW

    Do you think The Voice will hurt NCIS tonight ?

  • forg

    Great for NBC!

    Yikes for DWTS!

    CBS is OK still not the powerhouse it used to be but it’s comedy block every network would die to have

  • halloween

    @Louis doesn’t it always drop like that?

  • Goku

    Surprisingly, I’ll really miss The Carrie Diaries. I thought this show will be a mess, but it turned out not to be. It’s actually one of the smartest teen dramas I’ve ever seen, definitely not CW-ish kind of show.

  • JeffT

    Fox continues to bury Bones, no pun intended, but I think it’s run its course, anyway.
