Some Obama Voters Didn’t Care About Politics, But Today Show Won’t Question Obama’s ‘Mandate’

Although Time magazine revealed that 15 percent of Obama voters didn’t even care about politics, NBC’s Today show still wouldn’t challenge the President’s supposed mandate from the public to raise taxes when Time’s Richard Stengel was on Wednesday.

“And one of the things they found out is that there’s about 15 percent of voters who actually don’t care about politics,” Stengel referred to Time’s story on the matter. “These are the people we didn’t know who were going to show up at the polls who actually like Barack Obama in the sense they feel like he’s outside of politics.”

“What about some people who push back on that this year, Rick, saying it was more about the lesser of evils in the course of the campaign?” NBC’s David Gregory played devil’s advocate. He still didn’t question if voters really gave Obama a “mandate” to raise taxes given that a portion of them didn’t even care about politics.

“A lot of circumstances that seemed to be bigger than the President compared to when he was first chosen,” Gregory questioned the level of Obama’s influence.

Stengel defended Time’s choice by praising the achievements of President Obama. “He won re-election despite a higher unemployment rate than anybody’s had to face in 70 years. He’s the first Democrat to actually win two consecutive terms with over 50 percent of the vote.”

Stengel added, “he’s basically the beneficiary and the author of a kind of new America. A new demographic. A new cultural America that he is now the symbol of.”

“STENGEL: It’s funny. Our story Michael Scherer, our White House correspondent, really probes deeply into the data folks at the White House who really help make it happen. And one of the things they found out is that there’s about 15 percent of voters who actually don’t care about politics. These are the people we didn’t know who were going to show up at the polls who actually like Barack Obama in the sense they feel like he’s outside of politics. So I think using those people, using the coalition of the ascendant young voters, millenials, Hispanics, minorities, he’s creating a new alignment and kind of a realignment like Ronald Reagan did 40 years ago.”

ergo; Low information voters or no-information voters. You know those 47%s

Alabama Democrat Calls Concerned Gun Owner ‘Slave-holding, murdering, adulterous, baby-raping, incestuous, snaggle-toothed, backward-a**ed, inbreed’
Posted by Jammie on Mar 27, 2013 at 8:18 pm

“State Rep. Joe Mitchell, D-Mobile, had an outlandish exchange via email with a Jefferson County man who asked him and other lawmakers not to pass any laws that would restrict gun ownership.

Eddie Maxwell sent a mass email to state legislators at 10:54 p.m. on Jan. 27, warning them that even attempting to introduce a gun control bill was, in his opinion, a violation of state law.

Mitchell responded from his public, ALHouse.gov email account at 11:59 p.m., telling Maxwell: “Your folk never used all this sheit (sic) to protect my folk from your slave-holding, murdering, adulterous, baby-raping, incestuous, snaggle-toothed, backward-a**ed, inbreed (sic), imported criminal-minded kin folk.”

“That’s not the type of reply I expect to receive from a state legislator,” Maxwell replied on Feb. 11. “I’m not a racist and I find your reply to be especially offensive considering the position you hold.

Mitchell’s reply also suggested that he favored arming black Alabamians before enforcing new gun-control measures, in case they needed to defend themselves from racist white southerners.

‘You can keep sending me stuff like you have however,’ he wrote, ‘because it helps me explain to my constituents why they should protect that 2nd amendment thing AFTER we [blacks] finish stocking up on spare parts, munitions and the like.’

‘Bring it,’ he concluded. ‘As one of my friends in the Alabama Senate suggested – “BRING IT!!!!”‘

Under Bush, the National Gas average was as high as $4.12 a gallon. In fact, it was over $4.00 a gallon during the summer of 2008 right before he left office. However, soon after the stock market crash, gas prices fell from over $4.00 to under $2.00. During that same period of drops in gas prices, the stock market dropped from over 14,000 to below 7,000.

Gas prices have a very strong correlation to the Dow Jones…the higher the Stock Market, the higher gas prices will be.

CNN’s Piers Morgan Falsely Claims Newtown Shooter Was an NRA Member

Note to Piers Morgan: Journalism isn’t rocket science and making a few phone calls can go a long way.

Giddy about a Newtown search warrant that showed there was an NRA certificate found in the Lanza household, Morgan tweeted giddily:

I want to hear Wayne LaPierre explain what checks they made on Adam Lanza before sending him a @nra certificate. #Newtown

    — Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) March 28, 2013
Yet, this is an abject lie.

Emily Miller of the Washington Times noted today in a piece responding to Morgan’s egregious and misleading tweets that:

In the search warrants of the Lanza’s mother’s house, it showed a receipt for a shooting range along with a NRA certificates for both Adam and Nancy Lanza. These are given when a person takes a course in gun safety or training by an NRA-certified instructor.

The police also list a handbook published by the NRA. The book covers topics include safely using a pistol safely, shooting fundamentals, cleaning, storage and transportation.

The certificate was made out to Nancy Lanza, according to LaPierre explain what checks they made on Adam Lanza before sending him a @NRA certificate. #Newtown

The NRA was forced to put out a statement clarifying for those in the media that people NRA certificates don’t indicate membership in the organization: “There is no record of a member relationship between Newtown killer Adam Lanza, nor between Nancy Lanza, A. Lanza or N. Lanza with the National Rifle Association. Reporting to the contrary is reckless, false and defamatory

Tax and spend is a meaningless phrase used by right wing kooks

Let me explain it to you, so maybe you understand, but you probably won’t…The democrats tax everyone, and every dime they tax, and a whole bunch they borrow, they spend…even in january when the democrats raised taxes on the rich, they spent MORE than the taxes raise…

Did Obama Lose His Mojo Because We Exposed Him With the Limbaugh Theorem?

RUSH: The New York Times has a story today. This is curious — very, very curious: “Obama Has Lost Advantage Over GOP on Economy.” Now, all this story is is an aggregation of recent polls, which show Obama’s approval number falling. And in a couple of the polls Obama’s approval number is plummeting. Now, we’ve already discussed those, so there isn’t a whole lot new in this story informationally. But the thing about this is, if the New York Times says it, that makes it official with everything else in the news business.

You may not know that the rest of the news business feeds off the New York Times. Whatever the New York Times says is the news on any given day is what every other news organization then assigns a reporter to or discussion topic to, if it’s a cable news channel or what have you. It’s what other newspapers and wire services bounce off of. So if the New York Times has a story which basically says that Obama’s sequester gambit has been a flop, that this was not the way it was supposed to work…

If it says the sequester and the threat of a government shutdown were supposed to destroy the Republican Party once and for all, then the New York Times says that didn’t work. And hence the headline: “Obama Has Lost Advantage Over GOP on Economy,” and the only thing newsworthy here is that the Times is saying it because that will flavor and shape the way the rest of the media begins to ask questions about it. You can watch today and tomorrow, and you’ll see if this is true.

You’ll see a discussion, maybe a panel discussion for five minutes or so on some obscure cable show at two in the afternoon: “Has Obama lost his mojo? Did the Republicans surprise people surviving the sequester?” It’ll be that kind of thing, and it will be inspired by this story in the New York Times. Now, why is this happening? I think it’s because we’ve exposed Obama with the Limbaugh Theorem, in part.

When the Media Becomes the Story

RUSH: I’m gonna make a prediction to you. You’re gonna think this is really wrong and totally erroneous and late and everything else. But it wasn’t that long ago — and don’t doubt me on this — it wasn’t that long ago where, in the case of the mainstream media, they really did not want the anchors and reporters to become news.

They really didn’t want them to ever become part of the story or to be the story. Today that’s out the window. They all love it now. It’s a major change. And my prediction to you is they’re gonna come to rue the day where they allowed that to happen. It’s just a gut instinct feel. I can’t predict something solid. I can’t tell you, “And here’s what’s gonna happen as a result of –” although they already are losing respect. I’ll tell you what it is. Illustration. I’ve always believed, because I’m a profound advocate of the Constitution. The Constitution granting a role to the media is very, very important and serious. None of this was a game to the founders. The founding of this country, the writing of the Constitution, the Federalist Papers, none of it, the Revolutionary War, none of it was a game. It was dead serious.

Now the media is the story, and people from the media end up going to government. It’s a revolving door back and forth to the point now that there’s no distinction between the two. The media is no longer the media, particularly the Washington media. They’re just a branch of the Democrat Party in government. It’s had a corrupting influence, and it’s not good, and it’s created this low-information phenomenon. Because they’re advocates. And they’re advocates of a party and position that requires people not knowing very much but voting all the time, dumbing down kids in the education system so they really don’t know the roots and the history of this country. They don’t know how great a place that they inhabit. They don’t know what their citizenship responsibilities are to maintain this country. The subject isn’t even broached. In fact, that kind of thing is laughed at and made fun of. It’s kind of square to look at the country in that way.

It’s not good. It’s attacking all the traditions and institutions that have defined this country’s greatness, it’s blurring them and it’s subtracting what was special about things. Everything’s becoming average, nothing’s remarkable, nothing’s noteworthy, nothing that used to really be important and matter is, and now stuff that is inconsequential and is worth a laugh or two at best becomes life-alteringly important. And the real important stuff has been so watered down, so diluted and untaught that it has led to people investing in totally inconsequential things as substance, in their lives, in the country itself, country’s future.

It’s led to incredible phenomena you and I have to really stop and think to understand, such this phenomenon that 55 to 60% of the American people oppose everything Obama’s doing and reelect him because they don’t associate what he’s doing, his policies, with what’s happening in the country. How is that possible? How in the world is that possible? Well, the explanation is because he doesn’t own it. He’s constantly campaigning. He’s constantly running against all these problems. Yeah, I understand he’s created that impression, but how uninformed and detached do you have to be for that to work on you, is my point.

Not sure how old you are but everytime you post, I think of one of my favorite songs by Tom Petty Won’t Back Down
We can’t post links but here are the words:
Songwriters: PETTY, TOM / LYNNE, JEFF
    By Tom Petty

Well I won’t back down, no I won’t back down
You could stand me up at the gates of hell
    But I won’t back down

Gonna stand my ground, won’t be turned around
And I’ll keep this world from draggin’ me down
Gonna stand my ground and I won’t back down

Hey baby, there ain’t no easy way out
Hey I will stand my ground
    And I won’t back down

Well I know what’s right, I got just one life
In a world that keeps on pushin’ me around
But I’ll stand my ground and I won’t back down

Hey baby there ain’t no easy way out
Hey I will stand my ground
    And I won’t back down

Don’t tell me if he is a liberal or I won’t be able to enjoy the song again—lol

Coffee, one last post on your encounter with the hat hater in the grocery store. I just want to be sure that you understand I am not second guessing what you did. You could see the man’s demeanor and like you said, your daughter was there. I think you handled it correctly. It was not the right time to discuss this man’s hatred. Like I said you did good. I might have done what Peter did and cut off his ear but that would be wrong, but fun!! :-)

To show you what Low-Information voters are….Obama keeps saying “We need Comprehensive Immigration Reform, once and for all.”

But we already had Comprehensive Immigraiton Reform, once and for all…it was 1986, when we gave amnesty to 3 million illegals…but the democrats lied and broke thier promise to fix the border LATER…

and if it wasn’t for so many low-information voters voting democrat, they’d all know we already had Comprehensive Immigration Reform…and let’s not forget, at the time, even the democrats agreed it would be the “one and only time”…just another lie told by the democrats…most of whom are still in office, like Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.
