CBS NEWS’ “FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER” IS THE #1 SUNDAY MORNING PUBLIC AFFAIRS SHOW
CBS News’ FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show. FACE THE NATION placed first in viewers, adults 25-54 (tied with NBC) – the demographic most important to those who advertise in News – and households on Sunday, March 24. The CBS broadcast posted 0.7/03 in adults 25-54 with 3.09m viewers and 2.2/06 in households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 48% of the CBS affiliates.
Compared to the same day last year, FACE THE NATION is up +4% in viewers (from 2.98m), +5% in households (from 2.1/06) and even in adults 25-54.
Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +8% in viewers (3.23m from 2.99m), +10% in households (2.3/06 from 2.1/06) and even in adults 25-54 (0.8/03) compared to last year. Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in adults 25-54 (tied with NBC), viewers and households (tied with NBC) among the Sunday morning public affairs programs.
On the broadcast, Bob Schieffer hosted a panel on same-sex marriage with Brendon Ayanbadejo, linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens, David Frum of The Daily Beast, Austin Nimocks of the Alliance Defending Freedom, Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, and Evan Wolfson, founder and president of Freedom to Marry. Schieffer also discussed foreign policy with Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, and led a panel conversation with Rogers, Tom Friedman, columnist at The New York Times, Bobby Ghosh of Time magazine and CBS News Foreign Correspondent Clarissa Ward. Schieffer also hosted a political roundtable with CBS News Chief Legal Correspondent Jan Crawford and CBS News Political Director John Dickerson.
