    so if animal practice #s are not that different from whitney, community, and go on.. why is their Renew/ Cancel Index # so low??

    AP = 0.66
    W = 0.90
    GO = 0.90
    C = 0.92

    ?? what measures the Renew/ Cancel Index #s???

  • Jess

    Supernatural strong!! In particular for some supposed Supernatural cof! fans cof!….. 1.0 …… 1.0. :D

  • omabin

    @Lance B,

    They froze the index when a show leaves the schedule. AP left the schedule in October (I think). By then, it was performing significantly worse than the other NBC shows, particularly the other comedies. Hence, by then, it had a 0.66 index.

    As months went by, the other shows’ ratings went down, but it would not be fair to keep changing the index of AP – the idea is that if it was on the schedule, its ratings would most likely have fallen along with the rest of NBC’s scripted average, hence the freezing.

    @Billy- HIMYM has been in syndication at least 3 years vs. “the past year” that you indicated. And HIMYM experienced its highest-rated original season in years last season. I’m not suggesting syndication necessarily adds viewers to original telecasts, but there’s every reason to believe that new audiences can and do discover a show once it reaches syndication. It’s unparalleled promotion for a series.

    why stop at one spinoff?

    Glad to see Arrow adjusted up, shame CF adjusted down though. Win some, lose some.

    BTW, there seems to be another Mickey kicking around. The one on the first page of this thread wasn’t me.

    Arrow adjusted up means always wait for the finals.

    Arrow’s doing fine. Supernatural’s doing fine. Wednesday is now the CW’s most solid night, to be followed by Thursdays next season when The Originals is added to TVD. Fridays will be covered (however low.) All that’s left is to fix Monday and Tuesday – which means canceling everything they currently have on those nights (or moving HoD to Fridays after Nikita) – and then start looking for replacements for TVD and Supernatural as they get long in the tooth.

    Its awesome that Arrow adjusted up, and Im.stoked at Supernaturals ratings during season eight, but Im hoping Arroe rebounds because Id like this show to play out and actually last.

    Can we expect to see a poll on how Raising Hope will do after American Idol?

  • jay

    Am fine with Chicago Fire. Certainly will be renewed and most likely will last for several years. Best new show I have seen in years on network TV.

    @ Bee

    Fan Bingo.

    Supernatural and Arrow are killing it. Please keep these two shows together next fall as well.this is a winning combination as well.

  • tia

    congrats spn and arrow!!! spn you never cease to amaze what you can do!!!!

  • Blueapple

    Arrow is just getting very tired storywise. I fast forward everything that has to do with the stupid island and sometimes it takes a long time for me to get motivated to watch an episode. I’m literally 5 episodes behind.

    Go Supernatural! :)

    HIMYM has gotten no bump from syndication. It got a bump last season as the entire CBS Monday sitcoms got big bumps from the Two and a Half Men Ashton Kutcher thing that lasted for half of a season. HIMYM is down about 20% this season.

    Other than The Big Bang Theory tell me the sitcom that got a big bump from syndication in the last 5 years. TBBT is just a special case. That show is on a level of its own. Other than TBBT shows don’t get that much of a bump from syndication. The Office has crashed since it started syndication several years ago. 30 Rock & ROE have had their ratings lower since they started in syndication this season.

    Like I said, other than TBBT, which no comedy on TV can compare to from a ratings sense is the only sitcom to get a huge bounce from syndication. Also, remember TBBT is # 1 in syndication, not just # 1 for broadcast TV. No reason to believe MF or The Middle will do much in syndication.

    Wow, Suburgatory was not even able to garner as many viewers as The Neighbors even though it is airing after stronger rated Modern Family. And now ABC has to be concerned about The Middle slipping. I feel Suburgatory will see low numbers after The Middle if it is doing poorly after Modern Family.

    Whitney has to be cancelled. If Go On rates at least a 1.4 after The Office, then they could renew it. So far, I’d say the best option is to just renew Community for a final 13-episode season and Parks and Recreation for a 22-episode season (but not final one).

    NOW does everyone agree that Nashville is in danger of being cancelled?
