Jeff, you are right, I found it there on Greg K, but also on Medialite, the examiner, and others. BBL

Prove it. Greg was using the dead man to show Jim Carrey has no heart. Just out to get in limelight.

Didn’t California just raise taxes ?

Yes, the new tax was put to a Vote(marketed to help education) and it was passed…..

Cali needed a reality check. The numbers may have dropped as you reported in your story, but compared to the historic trends this is the new normal.

    ==============

@dave sky, I appreciate your opinion and applaud your education and experience(Lansing is a great city, A2 is better ;) However as you made very clear, you can not prove your point.(understandable) I respectfully disagree. The main stream media CNN CBS ABC NBC reports down the middle with no bias. Just because Rush Limbaugh Sarah Palin Glen Beck Sean Hannity claim there is a bias does not make it so…. These clowns are far from what the average american would consider reliable, who are on Fox News programs or are quoted by regularly.

The right nuts ask “well why is Al Sharpton on Meet the Press”….Well!….so was Karl Rove Newt Gingrich and many other respectable Conservatives….they are not quite your average liberal pundits. I see a real balance, and again, just because it is not anti Obama does not make it pro left. As I said, truth and facts tend to fall favoring left these days.

msnbc is left leaning and has far more liberal staff and commentators on all their programs regularly. As for CNN ABC NBC CBS, nope, straight down the middle with their reporting. msnbc was created as the alternative to Fox News for political news that caters to a particular audience. If you compare CNN ABC CBS NBC to Fox News they lean left…..ONLY by comparison.

But to the average viewer that has little political interest, they are all straight down the middle.

It’s quite embarrassing when I travel abroad and people actually think that Americans could think the way Fox News portrays America…..again it’s embarrassing!

    Oh my God.

The world where you went , Europe is in so much trouble.Europe will fall first. As if that matters because we will be right behind them. Europe has no manufacturing or natural resources. It will be the trade imbalance that caused it all. They are bankrupt.

    Okaaaaaaay…..

What does any of that have to do with Fox News being shown in foreign countries?
I just said it is embarrassing that people get the “Fox News” foolery point of view of all Americans. When it is far from what MOST Americans actually really think. We are not The United States of Alabama…..good GOD!

what does this mean. Because you say it is OK you to much spending money they do not have and will not be able to pay

    New normal?

    USA is in big trouble.

You are right 1/3 agree 1/3 disagree 1/3 do not care. that is why we are in trouble.

The Obamas live the 1 percent life

Being president of the U.S., the most powerful man in the world, is often most about perception. The man (or, one day, woman) in the job takes actions large and small every day, but it is the perception of the man that seeps into the everyday lives of working Americans.

    Let the people eat cake

    @Let the people eat cake

The correct supposed quote from Queen Marie Antoinette was “let them eat cake”

Are you advocating class warfare now?

    Hi, Jeff

    UCLA study on media bias

Of the 20 major media outlets studied, 18 scored left of center, with CBS’ “Evening News,” The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times ranking second, third and fourth most liberal

Harris Poll: 54%) say that there is a liberal bias in news reporting

    - -
    S. Robert Lichter, then with George Washington University, and Stanley Rothman of Smith College, released a groundbreaking survey of 240 journalists at the most influential national media outlets — including the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Time, Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report, ABC, CBS, NBC and PBS — on their political attitudes and voting patterns

Although this is an older poll, it is still being quoted today. Just ask Jake Tapper.

    KEY FINDINGS:

81 percent of the journalists interviewed voted for the Democratic presidential candidate in every election between 1964 and 1976.

In the Democratic landslide of 1964, 94 percent of the press surveyed voted for President Lyndon Johnson (D) over Senator Barry Goldwater (R).
In 1968, 86 percent of the press surveyed voted for Democrat Senator Hubert Humphrey.

In 1972, when 62 percent of the electorate chose President Richard Nixon, 81 percent of the media elite voted for liberal Democratic Senator George McGovern.

In 1976, the Democratic nominee, Jimmy Carter, captured the allegiance of 81 percent of the reporters surveyed while a mere 19 percent cast their ballots for President Gerald Ford.

Over the 16-year period, the Republican candidate always received less than 20 percent of the media elite’s vote.

Lichter and Rothman’s survey of journalists discovered that “Fifty-four percent placed themselves to the left of center, compared to only 19 percent who chose the right side of the spectrum.”

“Fifty-six percent said the people they worked with were mostly on the left, and only 8 percent on the right — a margin of seven-to-one.”

Beliefs & voting records affect how & what you decide to report.

  • Jeff

Really d.d. the way someone votes??? Before Lou Dobbs sold his soul to NewsCorp. I found him to be extremely credible and non-biased, even though my left wing voices said other wise.

Remember a sword cuts both way.
I see an endless sea of results, polls that counter the conservative myth of a Liberal Media Bias, but neither of us really want to go back and fourth with tit for tat c/p reports. I find the terms and labels such a “elite” littered in your comment, lead me to reject most of its findings. Also after researching the UCLA poll, your source has cherry picked the results and findings.

please post this finding, or no one will believe.

Just popped in. Jeff you are right, we could go back and forth on this. I know you think Fox is biased – why do you think this? I am curious what data, comments from current/former network people, or examples would convince you but regardless you have your opinion and I respect that.

Fox is right wing. that is not the point. All the rest are on the left.

    Bob you are right.

Would you please point me to the polls that disagree that most of the media are liberal ? We can’t link , but, we can name the specific polls. UCLA poll cherry picked ?

Blisters”, “Sprains and Strains” and “Acne ?

I read yesterday in the U.K. Telegraph that : 900,000 choose to come off sickness benefit ahead of tests

These people dropped their claim to the payments rather than undergo a tough medical test, latest government figures show. The statistics revealed that some claimants cited conditions such as “blisters”, “sprains and strains” and “acne” as preventing them from having a job. I hope this isn’t where the US is heading.

Look to Illinois…. not quite apple to apple, but, it could end up there.

    Scrubbing Medicaid

An audit discovers thousands of people who aren’t eligible for their benefits.

In January, Illinois launched an effort to scrub ineligible people from the state’s Medicaid rolls

Of the first 20,500 recipients screened by an outside contractor, the auditors recommend that 13,709 be removed from the rolls. Yes, that’s two-thirds of the first group screened, flagged as ineligible to
receive their current Medicaid benefits. How so? In some cases, the recipients make too much money to qualify. In other cases, they don’t live in Illinois.

There are still a half-million more chances for state health authorities to correctly — or incorrectly — certify people for medical care.

Big Gov, Did the Demos , Obama do that?

Study: D.C. the least affordable city in America
    WASHINGTON -

According to Zip Realty, Washington, D.C. is the least affordable city in America!

The study showed the city’s median home prices are nearly 17 times the median income.

Another study by the Washington Business Journal shows the average rent for a two bedroom apartment is about $1400 a month.

In order to afford that, without paying more than 30 percent of income on housing, a person must make $56,000 a year.
