Does 'Happy Endings' Have a Chance Tonight? (Poll)

Happy Endings is debuting in its new Friday timeslot tonight at 8PM before a new Shark Tank. ABC has already asked viewers to save it...but does it really have a chance? Its last pair of originals (way back in January) earned a 1.2 and a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating. Will its fans follow the show to Fridays? Or is this burn-off the end of Happy Endings? Predict the ratings below and let us know your thoughts in the comments!

The show could barley pull above 1.0 with a ok lead in, this show is going to crash so hard

  • JJ

I’m just glad they’re trying to air the episodes and did some promoting of it. I’ll be watching.

I hate it because this show is actually really funny. Season 2 was amazing with some incredibly funny episodes. This season has been okay with some great episodes, but not as good as season 2. It’s crazy to see it go from having so much promise in Season 2 (ratings wise) to complete failure in season 3 (ratings wise), but also ABC ended it early to premiere Apt. 23, which I also think doomed it.

@Hugh “1.2, and renewal over Malibu for next years Friday comedies. Someone’s gotta be optimistic.”

If it scores a 1.2 then it’s doing worse than MC, so why would that be cause for renewal?

  • Patrick Gillease

I’m guessing around 1.0. Shame on ABC for destroying yet another good comedy that should have stayed on Wednesdays!! I hope TBS picks it up and pairs it wih “Cougar Town”!

  • dan

it should go to usa networkor comdey central

It will be below 1 I think. Sadly ,very sadly. However, as horrible as it may seem, I wouldn’t be shocked to see it renewed by ABC for syndication reasons, even if it is to be buried during repeat periods from other shows or something like that. I think they will try to shop it to TBS or other cable network, but if it doesn’t work, it still has a chance of renewal on ABC. Calling this a certain cancellation doesn’t seem right at all to me.

How safe is “The Neighbors”? If saving HE puts “Neighbors” at risk, then I’d almost favor an HE boycott, but if not, I’d like to see HE “renewed.” Even if it takes a cable network to “renew” it.

Both episodes last night were hilarious! Save it!!!

Where are the Friday ratings? Marc Berman had them out 30 minutes ago.

  • John A

0.9 for Episode at 8pm and 0.7 for 8.30pm episode. What a loser

  • Marc

I think we will be seeing LMS and MC repeats next week…

I can see TBS’ trepidation for picking it up, but they may not have a choice since their original programming isn’t getting much traction. They have to be looking at TVLand renewing Hot in Cleveland for a fifth season and wondering.

Plus Happy Endings and Cougar Town could make for a potent combo either during the summer or (more likely) next January.

Of course, ABC treats its sitcoms about as well as NBC treats late-night hosts not named Jay Leno.

I seriously hope you are kidding about a “boycott”. What would you do call Nielsen households and ask thm not to watch the show?

  • HV

Happy Endings has zero chance at renewal. Why doesn’t ABC just cancel it now? ABC should just tell us that Happy Endings will not be returning and that Modern Family, Castle, Grey’s Anatomy, Once Upon a Time, and The Middle will? Get the obvious out of the way!

Yes, I was kidding about the boycott, but it is encouraging to hear that you are familiar with how the boycott process works. I hope this knowledge helps you in all of your future endeavors.
