Tonight is the finale of ratings powerhouse The Walking Dead. Last week's episode earned a 5.4 adults 18-49 rating, which is already up over last year's finale (which earned a 4.7 adults 18-49 rating).

However, tonight The Walking Dead has some unusually stiff competition in the form of the eagerly awaited premiere of the third season of Game of Thrones. Can The Walking Dead maintain its massive ratings dominance? Or is winter coming for tonight's finale? Make your predictions below and tell us why in the comments!

Definitely higher than 5.7 I am thinking 6.2 This finale has had such build up. It is going to be EPIC.

  • BG

    TWD 5.9-6.1

  • Joseph

I’m going to say a 1.6 for Revenge- it has been quite stable recently- Easter could either make it or break it hard to tell

The point of these polls are to bring in traffic to the site. Fact remains, a Revenge or even a Good Wife poll would be more interesting to predict than one for The Walking Dead.

    I think TWD can hit a 6.0.

I actually think Revenge may possibly remain steady at a 1.8 or maybe a 1.7. ABC scheduling is so bad, ugh. :|

    I think omabin is correct.

I think people will be incined to watch both The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones before the 3am same day ratings cutoff.

Both are water cooler shows. The work/radio discussions or the internet footprints of the shows would be such that a spoiler would be too easy to come by. My guess is people will watch TWD at 9pm and follow that with a taped version of GOT or the 10pm rebroadcast.

    Once Upon a Time (R): 0.7
    Revenge: 1.5
    Red Widow: 0.9

    The Amazing Race: 2.3
    The Good Wife: 1.5
    The Mentalist (R): 0.9

    The Walking Dead: 5.7

    Game of Thrones: 2.2

Wow. What a day of stupid scheduling moves. First of all, HBO, you seriously can’t do a 2-hour GOT premiere next week? Putting it up against Walking Dead will kill all the momentum it has from all this buzz. But that’s not even the worst part. Which idiot at ABC decided to schedule an OUAT repeat in front of Revenge when there’s a perfectly good Charlie Brown Easter special being wasted at 7 pm!!!!! Argh.

regarding revenge: i for one think it’ll get crushed pretty hard. it has a loyal core of fans so i doubt it’ll go lower than say 1.0, but everything above 1.5 will surprise me. as for TWD, not sure what the series high is, but i guess it’ll crack 6.0, GoT wont do it any/much harm. so, my guesses:

    TWD: 6.1
    GoT: mid 2s
    Revenge: 1.4
    TGW: dont care

  • SarahL

Recording breaking (6.2) because I am anxiously waiting for 9 p.m. to arrive. I will watch Game of Thrones after the Talking Dead.

  • NBC Fan

    6.5

Why does AMC air all of their scripted shows on Sunday?

  • scfyi

Watch GOT, DVR TWD and skip the 20 min of commercials per hour.

Have to ask – why on earth did HBO choose to premiere Game of Thrones against the Walking Dead finale… crazy decision to me!

HBO doesn’t sell advertising time; subsequently, the viewership for the initial airing is irrelevant.

  • Ultima

    @Greg
Isn’t HBO reairing the premiere of Game of Thrones right after its first airing?

It’s airing at 9pm, 10pm and 11pm; they will be able to catch both The Walking Dead’s viewers as well as those that stick around for The Talking Dead.

It’s also being aired an additional nine times on HBO/HBO2 prior to the premiere of the next episode.

That doesn’t even make sense. HBO is a premium network. All that momentum has already led to subscriptions so that people can watch the show in the first place. It doesn’t matter if they watch the initial airing or an encore.

Why would anyone choose to watch Walking Dead over Game of Thrones? GoT is superior in everything over Walking Dead. I like and watch TWD but I know it’s not quality show, just entertainment.

  • were123

I hope Revenge does well! But I imagine a 1.7 or a 1.8 is the most we can expect. Hopefully, with no more TWD Revenge will be able to perform way better on the following episodes, but I think it will end the season on low 2s.
    My predictions:
    GoT: 2.4
    TWD: 6.2
    Bible: 2.5
    Revenge: 1.8
    TGW: 1.3

    @Alan M

Because GOT has no real plot.

  • frodo

Game of Thrones is an excellent show with a great plot, the Walking Dead is a comic book zombie show for teenagers.

  • FogHornThatWillNeverBeSilent

    @frodo

    OK.

  • Carl

GoT also has endless interludes of naked, writhing, beautiful women. It’s kind of silly to do the superiority dance. It’s not Masterpiece Theater. Even Masterpiece Theater really isn’t now.

I haven’t seen as much buzz about the TWD finale this season, so I think they will be at around 5.5-5.8.

Don’t see why Revenge would take a big hit. It has a loyal core base – do you know tons of Revenge fans who are saying, “I have to see GoT NOW! Revenge can wait”?

  • Kyle

TWD will hit a new series high like the other seasons did.
Revenge will probably stay around the 1.6-1.8 range.
