How Will 'The Walking Dead' Finale Fare Tonight? (Poll)

Tonight is the finale of ratings powerhouse The Walking Dead. Last week's episode earned a 5.4 adults 18-49 rating, which is already up over last year's finale (which earned a 4.7 adults 18-49 rating).

However, tonight The Walking Dead has some unusually stiff competition in the form of the eagerly awaited premiere of the third season of Game of Thrones. Can The Walking Dead maintain its massive ratings dominance? Or is winter coming for tonight's finale? Make your predictions below and tell us why in the comments!

Sounded like you were recounting a religious experience. I won’t go on.

Well you wanted me to tell why GoT is as good as I say without badmouthing TWD. GoT isn’t my favorite show of all time, but it is nearly flawless. I can’t really tell you bad things about GoT because I don’t notice them. I love this show so much because I never liked fantasy before this show and this show opened my eyes into new direction. Have you watched it? I also would like to know what kind of shows do you like.

These comments about Game of Thrones vs. Walking Dead are hilarious!Keep them going please! I’ve been laughing for so long I think that I broke my laugh box!

    By the way, my predictions:

    TWD: 6.4
    Bible: 2.9
    GOT: 2.5
    Revenge: 1.6
    Good Wife: 1.4
    Vikings: 1.3
    Red Widow: 0.6

For the last three episodes, the Walking Dead has been a virtually non-stop chatter fest. Yack, yack, yack. I get that the characters need to exorcise their demons, but this all-talk-all-the-time mode needs to end. So, let’s hope they finally kick it in gear and actually resolve some things.

    My predictions:

    The Walking Dead 5.8
    Game of Thrones 2.2
    Revenge 1.7
    The Amazing Race 2.4

    Bonus Predictions:

It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown 1.2
Once Upon A Time (repeat) 0.9
    Red Widow 1.0

Last year Easter fell on April 8, 2012. New episodes of The Walking Dead and Desperate Housewives (which occupied the time slot that Revenge has taken this year) didn’t air on Easter 2012.

Season 3 Finale of The Walking Dead had a 4.7 rating which improved on the season 3 Premiere with a 3.8 rating. The combination of Easter and Game of Thrones won’t allow The Walking Dead to duplicate the improvement. I’ll predict it will match the season 4 premiere.

I’ll predict that Game of Thrones season 3 premiere will match the season 2 finale.

Revenge will drop 0.1 from last week because of the Easter holiday.

The Amazing Race is consistent even on Easter. Last year CBS made the idiotic programming choice of airing the series finale of CSI: Miami after a repeat episode of The Good Wife even though CBS knew The Masters would likely overrun into prime time. This Easter CBS at least ran a repeat episode of The Mentalist. Good karma for CBS will allow The Amazing Race to match last week’s rating.

For those fans who are worried about the effect of ABC’s programming choice on Revenge’s ratings tonight, ABC has clearly showed their long term priorities. As far as I know, there are plans for a Once Upon A Time spin off but no Revenge spin off. ABC is trying their best to recover the audience for Once Upon A Time.

Weak trolling. BigBrotherFan is a much more effective troll, and his posts are half as long as your own.

Anyway; Game of Thrones is one of the best shows on television, and The Walking Dead is occasionally entertaining pulp entertainment. They are on entirely different tiers on the quality spectrum. The plotting and character development in TWD is, quite literally, a joke (T-Dog, anyone?). You obviously disagree with that sentiment, but as they say, there’s no accounting for taste.

As far as the ratings go: Who knows? There’s a lot going on tonight. Personally, I’ll be watching Game of Thrones at 9:00, Shameless after that’s over, and the finale of TWD whenever I get around to it. Monster ratings are indicative of quality in the same way that huge box-office receipts indicate the quality of a good movie. Which, for those not so quick on the up-take, means that there is no correlation.

Well I certainly don’t speak jackass, a language which you seem to have mastered fluently. Don’t worry I have nothing against your zombie show, I know its the Citizen Kane of the Tv Zombie world.

By the way this is not a message board.

Its funny that your criticizing me for voicing my opinion, its just TV after all yet here you are spamming the board saying that GOT has no plot.

The only reason I posted was because I was attacked. At the end of the day I do not like the Walking Dead and you might not like Game of Thrones but both well do great in the ratings tonight.

    So lets all move on.

    @Alan M

I’ve seen both seasons and thought less of second than the first. I’ve also read the first 2 books and had the same problems with those as the show. Meandering cliched nonsense, void of any relatable, likable, or even tolerable characters. I stand by what I said of there being no plot. There isn’t.

The books were truly terrible, though. Far worse than the show. I gave up with less than 100 pages left to the second one. I won’t be going back. I’m uncertain if I’ll bother with the show this season either. It’s just Camelot but with HBO money and many many many breasts.

What other shows I watch isn’t really important to this discussion.

  • frodo

Great post, I could not have said it better myself.

  • Alan M

Well I guess you don’t like fantasy shows. Because GoT is quality show and it is not cliched,(at least not as much as many other shows). I asked your personal opinions on other shows because I got the feeling that you don’t like fantasy shows or movies.

  • FogHornThatWillNeverBeSilent

I’m not actually planning to watch TWD as it goes. The only reason that I got involved in this discussion is because someone mused as to why one would choose it over GOT. I then spammed all over you with my “no plot” argument. You really need to look up the definition of what spamming actually is by the way. I’m sure the meaning is the same in any language you choose.

And, you’re welcome to voice all the opinions you wish, but like it or not, you told other posters to shut the F up and quit masturbating. That’s not an opinion. That’s an “attack”, as I’m sure you’re aware.

But I agree. Let’s move on. I’ve got a sonnet to complete.

Easily a 5.9 if not a 6.0, and upwards of 12 million viewers.

  • Melissa

    The Walking Dead – 6.0
    The Bible – 3.0
    Game of Thrones – 2.4

    Revenge – 1.5
    Red Widow – 1.0

    The Amazing Race – 2.3
    The Good Wife – 1.5

The other three languages he/she claims to speak fluently are Fremen, Vulcan and Dothraki. Don’t forget the Dothraki! That’s probably the one he/she’s most proud of.

You’re really showing your true colors tonight, aren’t you? You’re so easily offended by an off-handed comment meant in jest. You remind me of someone else I met on a GOT forum who always felt he was being attacked no matter what someone said to him. Paranoid much?

I may not agree with you but one thing I would never do is drop to your low class level in defense of my opinions. If you actually knew me and knew my IQ, the LAST thing you’d ever call me would be “brain dead” regardless of what I do or do not watch.

I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree here as not everybody is going to like watching 5 minutes of pathetic dialogue by uninteresting and disposable characters, 5 minutes of bad CGI(dragons) and 40 minutes of breasts, endless slaughter and torture.

As long as CGI is done well, I could care less what show uses it and what show doesn’t. And what program doesn’t use some CGI these days? Oh, wait, you thought the dragons in GOT were real, didn’t you? I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to burst your bubble. BTW, Santa and the Easter Bunny aren’t real, either. You might as well get all the bad news at once. Rip the band-aid off fast. It’s easier that way.

Lighten up, dude. It’s just TV.

The finale’s often rate higher than the premiere.

@How Will ‘The Walking Dead’ Finale Fare Tonight?

  • Patrick Ausgewahlt

The Bible will rise tonight, being on Easter and the finale and all. It won’t affect the Walking Dead. I doubt there’s a ton of overlap. But I predict the Walking Dead will come in second in viewership, first in demo for this week in cable

  • iMember

The Walking Dead finale wasn’t all that great as it was hyped up to be. Still, it’ll rate high.

REVENGE had an incredible episode tonight though! So I hope it’s strong enough to stay steady or just not fall far. Why didn’t ABC air a promo for the next episode airing on April 28th though? Are they planning a big promotional push for the show soon?

  • RJ

The episode where Carl eventually dies will get superbowl ratings because everyone will want to see that little bastard shut the hell up ;)

  • merrrrraaanga

I love this show but this episode was SERIOUSLY disappointing.
