Guadalajara vs. América Ranked #1 among Adults 18-49 in the Time Period in Chicago, Denver, Dallas, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, Beating all English and Spanish-language Stations

 

 

MIAMI – April 1, 2013 – Telemundo’s “Fútbol Estelar” Liga MX highly anticipated “Superclásico” match between Chivas and América (Sunday, March 31 at 9:55 PM ET) delivered nearly 2.6 million total viewers on average and close to 1.6 million adults 18-49, for a respective 35% and 22% growth versus Telemundo’s broadcast of the “Superclásico” last year, according to Nielsen. Narrated by internationally acclaimed sportscaster Andrés Cantor alongside soccer expert Sammy Sadovnik, the match also delivered a cumulative audience of nearly 4.8 million total viewers, 39% more than last year’s Telemundo “Superclásico.”

 

 

 

 

The highest-rated Liga MX match on Telemundo local stations this year, the “Superclásico” also was the top rated telecast among adults 18-49 in the time period in Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles and San Francisco, regardless of language. Likewise, Chivas vs. América was ranked # 1 program in the time period among total viewers in Spanish-language television in Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Phoenix and San Francisco. The match also registered a 108% growth in total viewers versus the “Superclásico” broadcast by Telemundo last year in New York, as well as 101% in San Francisco, 76% in Dallas, 60% in Miami, 46% in Chicago and 45% in Los Angeles.
