Way to go BoP…wins time slot again!

The New Normal Fans, can’t say NBC didn’t try saving this show! Obviously, we don’t know the fate of its survival, but NBC saving the season finale post- The Voice shows that they do care about the show, fans, cast, and Ryan Murphy.

Loving The Voice this season! I’m interested to see how much their ratings drop once they get past the blind auditions. I think they’ll drop a little but stay stronger than last season.

The biggest problem The Voice is going to run into in future seasons is the departure (temporary or permanent) of Blake and Adam as judges.

    Go The Voice!!

If I see one repeat on a channel I assume all of the other shows after it will be repeats as well.

What led you to make that assumption? Clearly it wasn’t experience from actually watching TV, since networks have been mixing originals with repeats for decades.

I don’t get what these network executives are doing.

Shows with different amounts of episodes remaining obviously can’t always be new at the same time for the rest of the season.

Body of Proof has the same ratings and viewers as The Good Wife does…not good! Still loving this season though, writers have been hitting it out of the park every episode.

Hey those of you saying that people won’t watch gay sitcoms are crazy. Will and Grace lasted 7 years and people loved the show. The acting was great. The New Normal is horrible and the acting is dreadful. Can’t wait to hear about the cancellation.

I disagree Bob. How many episodes did you watch? Because I thought the show and the acting were fine. Will & Grace was a great show as well. But this one did push the envelope more and not just with the gay issues. They had episodes with the dog dying , the Obama storyline, wearing fur, the breastfeeding episode. I think it pushed a lot of buttons so it wasn’t one of those comfort food shows in many ways. Those are the ones with the big ratings. But I especially thought the last three episodes were well done, the boy scout one and the finale episode.

46 year old fat white gay guy checking in… I was a big fan of TNN in the beginning and I’ve seen every ep (there’s always been some appeal), but it just started losing me after a while. So flipping preachy – so… script-y, lol. No one I know speaks the way they do. I married my partner of 20 years 2 years ago and as strongly as we feel about the issues brought up on this show, we just rolled our eyes. He stopped watching after the second episode – he couldn’t stand it. What started my declining interest was Ellen Barkin’s character’s virtual vanishing act. She was generally unpleasant but hilarious – and a huge part of it’s original success because of it – based upon discussions with my friends, that is. I laughed a lot in the first several eps. Then she only appeared randomly and THEN she got a haircut, a real estate license and became… incredibly insecure and NICE! Then she hooked up with… John Stamos (wtf?)! Her polar opposite right-wing attitude and forcefully made opinions balanced out the guys’ left-centric rambling stuff nicely – not so anymore. In fact, in the finale she essentially thanked them for leading her in the right direction and changing her life for the better. WHAT?! Suddenly, the show had no antagonist. They made Rocky an adoptive mother and producer of the tv show in the course of 2 eps. Like, overnight. Not so subtle and bad re-tooling as far as I’m concerned. In the end, I’m glad they tied it all up in the finale, it was sweet – some tears were shed. For me, it worked as a limited run series (which is the way I thought about it around mid-season – I saw the writing on the wall, as did my friends). Inn the beginning, people gave it a fair viewing and stuck around for a while. Then people bailed because the show’s characters changed – you miss an ep, you miss a complete adoption – speaking of which, that entire ep was just embarrassing… I honestly can’t see where it was going to go from here. I would be completely stunned if it gets renewed and doubt I would resume watching – I’m good, thanks. If it does get renewed, Ryan Murphy is or has been in someone’s bed at NBC or COMCAST.

I meant to say “Then people bailed because of the show’s characters changed (among other things)”

Glad for The Voice’s ratings, however I still prefer Ceelo and Christina. Shakira is annoying to me. Usher isn’t my favorite.

Tomsman I see your point. A Ryan Murphy show is usually pretty uneven. I did like it more than you did though and I was actually happy to see Ellen Barkin’s character vanish for a while. She was a bit much. The reason they had her change in the last episode is probably because it was the final episode of the show and they wanted to wrap things up. I thought it was a nice effort that did make me laugh but I’d be surprised if it was renewed.

I really like the Mindy Project.
