American Idol Season 12

via press release:

Three-Time Grammy Award-Winning Artist and Season One Winner Kelly Clarkson and

Platinum-Selling Artist and Season 10 Winner Scotty McCreery to Perform

on Next Results Show Thursday, April 11

Burnell Taylor was eliminated tonight on AMERICAN IDOL, after he received the fewest votes among the finalists. From New Orleans, LA, the 19-year-old Taylor sang “You Give Love A Bad Name” by Bon Jovi on last night’s “Classic Rock, No Ballads”-themed performance show. In addition, on tonight’s results show, six-time Grammy Award-winning artist and Season Four winner Carrie Underwood performed her new single, “See You Again,” and Season Nine finalist Casey James sang his song, “The Good Life.”

Next week, on Wednesday, April 10 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), the Top 6 – Lazaro Arbos, Janelle Arthur, Candice Glover, Kree Harrison, Amber Holcomb and Angie Miller – return to perform for America’s votes. Each finalist will perform two songs, including the music of Burt Bacharach and Hal David, and “A Song I Wish I Had Written.”

On the next live results show airing Thursday, April 11 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), tune in to find out which of your favorite finalists will be sent home. Plus, multi-platinum-selling artist, and the very first AMERICAN IDOL ever, Kelly Clarkson, will perform her new single, “People Like Us.” Season 10 winner and platinum-selling artist Scotty McCreery also will perform.

Eliminate the show show already!! lol

  • Bitter Ringer Fan

    I meant just 1 show :S

God knows how Lazaro got in the top 3…? Who’s voting for him?? He’s forgot his words the past 2 weeks & SWEATS so much when he sings. It’s discusting.

  • Mark

I can’t believe Lazaro is still around! He’s Sanjaya 2.0!!!!

  • Kangarookeeper

    Idol completely sucks this year.

  • Bob

Clearly they are going to get the girl winner they have wanted all season. lol. I don’t mind that but they are making it much too obvious and hurting credibility. Still a powerhouse in it’s 12th year (or at least money maker). Well anyway, I haven’t enjoyed it the last few years. Next year final. Bring back Simon, Paula and Randy and go out with dignity and a bang.

  • Uofmguy423

How is this show a powerhouse still? Pulling a 3.0 isn’t a powerhouse…it’s becoming a relic of history and rightfully so. It’s format is dated and viewers have grown tired of it.

  • Jason

It’s a case of good news, bad news. The good news is another guy went home because of the wrong song, the bad news was is was the wrong guy.

What I think they need to do for next season is let the fans decide on the theme weeks all throughout the season. Also, Randy and Mariah have gotta go, but do keep Nicki and Keith. The third seat should be occupied by a long-time favorite who has been on Idol, win or lose, so they can tell them, “Look what I had to go through to be who I am today, I’ve always been criticized for certain things from day 1, but I can’t keep getting defensive about it.” The elimination procedure should also be changed to reflect that of “So You Think You Can Dance” so that at least the judges will at least have some say before the final 3 are decided for the finale. They’ll at least have one more shot to perform before the elimination. To make it fair, it should be a male and a female winner because it’s always been just one winner and that’s not right.

Look..singers make the show, and Lazaro is just killing whole show. If you don’t get him off, you will not have anybody watching.

  • ars041

I find it funny that people stopped watching because of Nikki Minaj. Last I checked the show doesn’t revolve around the judges. It is about the contestants not the judges. I don’t like Nikki but i don’t let that effect whether I watch the show or not. Some of you people are so biased and a disgrace to America

  • Melanie

I can not believe that Lazaro wasn’t the one to go. Last week he was the WORST and this week he really wasn’t any better. Who the hell is voting for this guy? I get that the producers wanted a girl to win — but holy crap did it have to be so obvious?

  • Mark

They sabotaged the boys this year by only putting 1 good guy(Burnell) in the top 5 boys. They’ll finally get their girl winner though! It’s been a while.

Nicki and Keith are great. I’m tired of Randy, I never liked him. And Mariah is just awful!

@Bob. Season 10 & 11 were great seasons, both had a great cast. I don’t think bringing back Simon is any good, his last season on the show (9) was a disaster, and he’s shtick is getting old (see XF)

  • florida girl

Oh goodness it will be interesting to watch Lazaro sing 2 songs on 1 night.

Cant wait to watch Kree sing. :)

  • Networkman

How in the heck did Lazaro end up being the last male in the competition? When he forgot the words to the song that the guys were singing, I really thought that viewers would finally eliminate him. If it didn’t happen then, I don’t know what will make viewers realize that he is the weakest of all remaining contestants.

My Top Three: Kree, Candace and Angie. I do believe that during Motown week, Angie should of been in the bottom three. It would of been fair, just based on her performance. She butchered “Shop Around”. Kree and Candace have been the most consistent so far. I would love for them two to battle it out for the win. They are really strong vocally.

  • Jason

Just to at least keep the show contemporary, since Burt actually wrote “Always Something There to Remind Me” and everyone’s familiar with the one by Naked Eyes, one of them should perform it to at least keep it in the near present.
