“CBS THIS MORNING” CUT THE DEFICIT WITH NBC BY MORE THAN ONE MILLION VIEWERS COMPARED TO FIRST QUARTER 2012 – PUTTING CBS IN CLOSEST COMPETITIVE POSITION IN VIEWERS AND HOUSEHOLDS SINCE 1995, AND ADULTS 25-54 SINCE 1994
“CBS THIS MORNING” IS UP +13% IN VIEWERS AND +11% IN HOUSEHOLDS IN FIRST QUARTER 2013 COMPARED TO FIRST QUARTER 2012
CBS THIS MORNING posted the Network’s best first quarter delivery with a morning news program since 2009 in viewers and since 2011 in households. CBS THIS MORNING posted double-digit percentage gains among viewers (2.83m from 2.50m, +13%) and households (2.1/08 from 1.9/07, +11%) according to Nielsen most current ratings in first quarter 2013 compared to first quarter 2012.
In first quarter 2013, CBS cut the deficit with NBC in the morning news timeslot by over one million viewers compared to first quarter 2012. CBS THIS MORNING is in the network’s closest competitive position in a first quarter vs. NBC in both households and viewers since 1995, and in adults 25-54, the demographic most important to those who advertise in News, since 1994.
CBS THIS MORNING also posted double-digit year-to-year percentage gains among viewers (2.71m from 2.42m, +12%) and households (2.0/08 from 1.8/07, +11%), according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending March 29. The CBS broadcast added +290,000 viewers compared to the same week last year.
