With the press release coming out today showing that the whole CBS lineup is still up year to year which includes Y&R….you have to really give Jill and Josh credit. They stopped the bleeding that was going on with Y&R’s ratings.

I think is still way too early to call them a success because it could all fall apart at any time.

I thought Y&R would be gone in a few years, but with Y&R on the rise again and the rest of CBS’ lineup doing so well. I think the CBS lineup now is in great shape and all the shows are safer for it.

And I definitely agree with Jay-TN …. it does not matter to advertisers what show is on as long as people are watching. They want to get their product seen by the most eyes.

  • PatF

Ahhhh yes…FOJ. “Friends of Jill”…as in Steve Burton. :-)

I not scared anymore, but still very suspicious of her.

I’m in Josh’s camp, but it’s going to take me a while to trust some of the choices JFP is making.

I’m glad the ratings are up, but really the credit has to go to him for making the characters likable and human again.

  • JayTN

Mike…yes, Melissa Ordway (the new Abby Newman) appeared on “Hollywood Heights”, as did recent hires Robert Adamson (Noah) and Hunter King (Summer).

  • PatF

And none had to audition for the role…

  • David

It is funny last summer when ever someone would point out GH doing well in the total viewers JAYTN and his buddy Richard(now posting as mike) would immediately say that don’t matter it is only the 18-49 that matters. Now suddenly they are saying that is flawed because GH is doing well in those numbers. They wonder why they get labelled as hating on GH when it is actions such as this.

ABC just released a press release regarding the latest ratings regarding the anniversary week of the show. This is great news:

With the 25-54 being so good cannot wait to see the total viewers and other numbers for the show Considering how awesome the show has been this is well deserved. Way to go Frank, Ron, the cast and crew of GH, thank you for keeping GH alive and making the show like it used to be

  • David

Sorry just noticed that the other ratings were in that press release wow what a great week and what great increases. AWESOME!

  • David

There have been some trying to say that 25-54 isn’t a key demo. Well for daytime it actually is. Not only is ABC promoting improvements in this demo so is CBS. So quite obviously this is also a key demo but the haters can keep saying what they want

  • JayTN

Nice try, David…I have never trumpeted the value of the 18-49 year old ratings demographic when it comes to GH or any daytime soap. Please dig those alleged comments up and present them to me. I’ll save you the time and trouble…you won’t find them, because they do not exist.

Unfortunately, no one can say anything that the almighty David doesn’t agree with because he immediately labels you a “hater” and twists your comments into something that is unrecognizable to the author. For the second time, my comments about 18-49 demo where NOT in reference to GH, but to the advertisers. I don’t know how much clearer I can make that statement. If you would also notice, I did not even mention GH in any of my posts – until David made his baseless accusations.

  • JayTN

Dumb David…you don’t have to “wait” to see what the total viewership is for GH. If you had bothered to read the very press release you just cut-and-pasted here, it clearly tells everyone that it is 2.79 million viewers. And you wonder why people think that you are stupid, when it is actions such as this.

  • David

The advertisers rates are still determined by the 18-49 and in daytime the 25-54 this weekend when I have time JayTN I will find said posts until then keep hating

  • JayTN

Good hunting, Dumb David. And please provide dates and times when you “find” these posts, since it is probably more likely that you will forge comments and attribute them to me.

I guess in the future I’m going to have to write my posts on a kindergarten level so a one celled organism such as yourself can understand them. Here is the comment on advertisers that is giving your feeble mind such fits…

“…The only reason why 18-49 year olds are preferred is because they supposedly do not yet have brand loyalty (although surveys and polls have debunked that idea).”

What is so confusing about this statement? You will notice that nowhere in there is their any mention of GH, or any soap. It is a fact that a reason why advertisers value the 18-49ers is because they 1) do not have established brand loyalty, and 2) have larger discretionary incomes than 50+ aged people. I merely pointed out that the brand loyalty argument has been refuted – or debunked – by recent research. Somehow that innocent statement has been twisted by Dumb David into an attack on GH. I guess we all know how you earned that nickname, Dumb David.

  • Tim

Was in totallt shock this week to see Laura Horton return to days, its hot right now,and getting even hotter…Hope it shows in the ratings soon…Tim a view of “Days” for 35 years now….

  • David

I guess JayTN is mad because GH is doing so well. Thanks for the laughs GH pretty funny that you change your comments around to suit you. And you are the one name callign not me. Keep it up though hater Jay
