The sixth season of Mad Men premieres tonight. It's the Emmy darling that put AMC on the map, though its ratings have now been dwarfed by The Walking Dead's.  Its fifth season premiere scored a 1.2 adults 18-49 rating and the fifth season finale earned a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating. Tonight, Mad Men has the advantage of facing repeats on the broadcast networks, but the disadvantage of facing off against week two of Game of Thrones. Prestige cable shows with long hiatuses tend to pick up viewers upon their return thanks to people discovering the show via streaming. So  how do you think it will fare tonight? Make your predictions below.

  • Joseph

    1.0

  • AJ

    Around 2.0

  • tommie

I’d say around the same numbers as for last season’s premiere.

I think it’s peaked in terms of growth.

  • rob60990

    lol no. 1.1.

  • Greg

Last season’s premiere ratings were more of an exception, since the show was off the air for over a year then. I assume it will rate a 1.0. The show has its audience by now, I don’t expect it will grow anymore.

  • Cyrax86

    About same as last year.

  • John A

    1.0

What Idiots are voting below a 0.6?

  • marc

    1.2

what’s with all the internet hate(rs) for the show, btw? Not only here with this poll, basically everywhere.

  • Maximillian

It had great exposure via commercials airing during the Walking Dead, and it has had huge hype the last few months. I say at least 1.2.

  • Dan S

I can’t believe so many people voted for 0.6. I feel much differently & say 1.4-1.5 thanks to services like Netflix Mad Men could actually pickup new viewers.

  • Mike

    1.1

  • forg

    1.3

It has grown each year in premiere numbers and has been on streaming for a while. The DVD/Bluray for season 5 has been out. AMC has become more noticed in the public eye. No way it doesn’t do at least above 1.2. I guess above 1.5.

  • Gary Middleton

I don’t think Mad Men picked up a lot of viewers this time. Season 5 didn’t connect so well and I can’t ever remember a Mad Men off-season with so little anticipation about what will happen next.

  • BG

    1.2

  • Melanie

A 1.0 if its lucky, and by ‘lucky’ I mean if its audience doesn’t crossover much with the GOT audience.

  • Pat

i cant believe so many people are voting below a .6. I’m giving a 95% probability that is falls between 1.2-1.4.

  • Lukes

Mad Men will never be a rating hit. It is not its role anyway.
I guess it will be in line with the last season’s première perhaps a bit higher: 1.3.

  • CBSviewer

    1.2
