Definitions:

DVR (Time-shifted) Adults 18-49 Ratings – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data LiveLive+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs.

Live+Same Day(Live+SD) ratings include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing.

Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

DVR Ratings Increase Past Airdate - How many people watched the show on their DVRs within 7 days following the airdate

Until the 2009-2010 season, we used a show's LIVE program rating or viewership as the base upon which the LIVE+7 day DVR viewing was added. Now, the press seems to be standardizing around using LIVE+SAME DAY DVR viewing as the base for the calculations, so that's what we do now as well.

    Two interesting things:

    1) Neither edition of AI made top 25 in viewer gains. That’s surprising.
    2) Duck Dynasty effect. CF picked up almost 1MM more DVR viewers than SVU. CSI was pretty much on par in terms of 18-49 and viewers. NBC is missing out on CF potential. It would do much better away from CSI. Tuesday at 10/9 still wide open. It would really do well there.

  • Sarah

    Bones :)

  • Raykov

Soo… Grey’s Anatomy is the best broadcast show for that week. They still got it!!!

  • Alex

    Very happy for Castle!

  • Tommy

Body of Proof is soaring on DVR ratings!

  • Fred

Regarding Grey’s Anatomy: Very impressive for such an old show.
ABC should do everything in their power to milk it for all they can. Not easy to find hit scripted shows these days.

  • Percysowner

No Supernatural or Arrow? They both had new episodes on March 20 the time frame. That’s a first of sorts.

  • Mi

@Percysowner I think they probably both got 40% increase and 1.4 total. That’s what I’m going with till I hear otherwise.

  • halloween

no batb on list…bad new for the bubble show

  • Jason

They should do something called C+7 because it involves viewers who actually watch the show all the way through, commercials and all, throughout the week before the next new episode.

  • Percysowner

I think they probably both got 40% increase and 1.4 total. That’s what I’m going with till I hear otherwise.

That makes sense, it’s just unusual.

  • Holly

    @Jason,

The nets are pushing for it, and the advertisers are unsurprisingly reluctant. My guess is we’ll soon see a combination. Time sensitive ads (sales, movie premieres, etc.) will still be sold on C3 while longer running ads will be sold on C7.

  • MichaelChickless

    People love Bacon!

  • 1Mars

Nice, but what does this mean? PR value only?

  • CrazedNovelist

Cult has been on this list every week since it moved to Fridays… strange right?

  • Holly

    @Crazed Novelist,

Cult has been on this list every week since it moved to Fridays… strange right?

Not really. It’s ratings are so low that any jump puts it on the percentage list. It only grew by 0.1, but that makes for a 50% increase. Even Carrie Diaries required 0.2 increase to make it on the list.

  • Holly

    blech! Its, not it’s

  • Maximillian

    No Nashville :/

  • RJ

    Look at Criminal Minds go!

  • Mari

Holly Shi! Castle is a power house!!
