Drawing its 2nd-Biggest Audience This Season, ABC’s “Body of Proof” is the

Most-Watched TV Show in Tuesday’s 10pm Hour for the 3rd Straight Week

Tuesday Night (8:00-11:00 p.m.)

ABC (8.7 million) was the 2nd-most-watched TV network on Tuesday night, outdrawing NBC with “The Voice” and the debut of “Ready for Love” by 1.8 million viewers (6.9 million) and Fox by 4.7 million viewers (4.0 million).

“Splash” (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

Gaining in viewers (+8%) and young adults (+9%) from start to finish in the 8:00 p.m. hour against NBC’s “The Voice” and CBS’ top-rated “NCIS,” ABC freshman “Splash” attracted a larger audience than Fox’s “Hell’s Kitchen” (+18% – 5.2 million vs. 4.4 million) for the 3rd straight week.

“DWTS: The Results Show” (9:00-10:00 p.m.)

Surging over its lead-in at 9:00 p.m., ABC’s “DWTS: The Results Show” took second place in the hour with Adults 18-49 (1.9/5) and Total Viewers (11.8 million).  Among Adults 18-49,  ABC’s dancing results show beat out the opening hour of NBC’s “The Voice”-led debut of “Ready for Love” by 6% (1.8/5) and Fox’s comedies by 6% (“New Girl”/”The Mindy Project” = 1.8/5).   Lisa Vanderpump was the third celebrity to leave the competition this season.

“Body of Proof” (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

For the 3rd Tuesday in a row, ABC’s “Body of Proof” (9.1 million) was the most-watched TV show in the 10 o’clock hour, beating CBS’ “Golden Boy” by 1.2 million viewers (7.9 million) and nearly tripling the second hour of NBC’s “Ready for Love” opener (+194% – 3.1 million). In addition, the ABC drama also ranked No. 1 in the hour for the 3rd consecutive week with Adults 25-54 (2.2/6-tie) and outdelivered the NBC unscripted premiere in Adults 18-49 (+8% – 1.4/4 vs. 1.3/4).

  • Building week to week in Total Viewers (+6%) and Adults 25-54 (+5%), “Body of Proof” drew its 2nd-biggest audience this season.

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 47% currently, from 43% at the same point in 2012. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
