SYFY’S GHOST MINE TO RETURN FOR A SECOND SEASON OF THRILLING GOLD MINING AND GHOST INVESTIGATIONS

TWELVE EPISODE SEASON TO PREMIERE SEPTEMBER 2013

NEW YORK – April 10, 2013 – Dig even deeper into the Ghost Mine mystery when the hit Syfy paranormal unscripted series returns for Season 2 this fall. Twelve all-new episodes are set to premiere starting in September 2013.

In its first season, Ghost Mine averaged 1.25 million total viewers, with 617,000 Adults 18-49 and 727,000 Adults 25-54, making it a Top 10 original cable broadcast series in both demos during its Wednesdays at 10PM ET/PT time period based on Live +7 data.

For Season 2, the rag-tag team of gold miners and pair of paranormal investigators will return to Eastern Oregon’s Crescent Mine to continue their quest for gold and evidence of ghosts at the notoriously haunted mine. Located near the historic gold mining community of Sumpter, Oregon, the Crescent Mine is believed to contain high amounts of gold.

Each hour-long episode of the new season will feature the Ghost Mine crew battling the elements in hopes of striking it rich while delving further into the mysterious history of the Crescent Mine and revealing new information about the recurring Masonic symbols, Native American presence and a spirit named “Joe.” While the miners use the time-honored tools of their trade – including pickaxes and explosives – the paranormal investigators will introduce special new techniques and innovative gear to capture activity, including a revamped version of the popular RIPA (Remote Investigator of Paranormal Activity).

Ghost Mine is produced by 51 Minds with Mark Cronin (Celebrity Paranormal Project, Flavor of Love, Rock of Love with Bret Michaels), Dave Caplan, Jay Bluemke (Ghost Hunters, Ghost Hunters Academy) and Phil Davis (Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files) serving as Executive Producers.

    “Syfy, the destination for high-concept, boundary-pushing genre entertainment,..” quote from their previous press release, just felt it needed to be put out there again. LOL

    Is there anyplace where they have not tried to look for ghosts yet?

  • The End

    @Is there anyplace where they have not tried to look for ghosts yet?

    On the bright side, 1000s of Paranormal episodes later, no conclusive proof of Ghosts has ever been found, nothing that even the hardened skeptic wouldn’t agree with.

  • Mike

    What about destination truth and fact or faked?

  • The End

    @Mike

    From what I understand, and I’m pretty certain here. Destination Truth is not dead, whilst Josh Gates works on Stranded the show has kinda been put on hold, if you want to use that term. Talks regarding the show will obviously occur with Josh Gates and the outcome will result in more Destination Truth(So really as I said yesterday to someone, sit and wait).

    Pretty sure Fact or Faked is dead. Jael and Devin Marble have done Season 2 of Haunted Highway anyway, so you have most of your cast back.

    Jael also did another show that hasn’t been announced yet.

    I’ve seen all of season 1 and truly enjoyed it. I am THRILLED for season 2! Those who comment negatively have simply not watched this show and thus are commenting out of ignorance. Thanks SyFy! Good on you!:)

    @ The End- It’s funny all these shows the camera is mostly pointed at the investigaters. Then they see something and the camera swings around too late. I don’t want to see them react to something, I want to see what they reacted to. Thats why we’re tuning in, have they not figured that out by now? Keep the cam pointed away from them in first person shooter view.

    @The End

    That’s too bad. Both Ghost Mine and Stranded are a huge snore. I’ve tried putting them on and it’s like watching the Blair Witch Project film crew do crash test dummy videos. At least Destination Truth has a goofy charm.

    Shame about Fact or Faked. They had some good episodes, like the anniversary mine disaster segment and the spirit ectoplasm one. But I suppose Haunted Highway is basically the same thing, anyway.

    Is Paranormal Witness coming back? That’s a pretty good campfire-tale show, though I think Celebrity Ghost Stories is better. Whoever produces that one really knows how to do low-budget creep.

  • Ben

    They don’t have a ghost of chance of finding anything on these programs execpt viewers who just want to have a little fun in their lives.

    Are these programs really that much worse than the low budget films with has-been, (or never was), celebrities facing a “monster” that looks as those it’s from from Mystery Science Theater 3000?

    Movies such as Sharktopus.

  • DoninLouisiana

    Season One of Ghost Mine was surprisingly very good. I found the paranormal activity that the investigators uncovered was some of the best I’ve seen with one of these type shows. I am a part time investigator myself and found their techniques spot on. Can’t wait for Season Two!

  • LisaM

    Just once, I think it would be funny if a ghost stepped right up to someone on these programs and say “boo”. An hour and nary one spook. Boring!

  • Alan

    At first I was sceptical when I seen this new show, but now I am hooked. Its really two shows in one which is cool.

  • Kim

    I thoroughly enjoyed Ghost Mine! Can’t wait for season 2 to begin. I think until you have your own personal experience, everything looks hoaky. Since I saw a large shadow block out a light from the hallway in a friends house, I am now a firm believer there is something else out there. My brother has seen dark shadows move from one room to the other in my house although I myself have yet to see them.
