I don’t watch any but glad the soaps are surviving and gaining. I use to watch Y&R starting a little before David Kimble, then Sheila, and lastly Michael. That in my opinion is when the show knew how to write a bad guy and the action was good.

  • PatF

Those are VERY impressive gains for all the shows, but especially the soaps. CBS really has a strong lineup of shows, and a lot of diversity to pick from.

  • Derrick

    Wow. Keep it going CBS!!

  • Mike

Good job CBS. So proud for you.

  • moshane58

Great to hear all soaps up this time.Keep backing soaps.

  • Watch TNA Tonight on SPIKE @ 8/7c

WOW! Y&R and B&B still growing I expected a decline this week. Very good news for both shows and the lineup as a whole. CBS has it down right now.

  • Jack Bauer

TPIR is still having a lackluster season because of those idiotic contestants. Drew Carey better stop wasting his time with everybody including the ones watching at home. Price is Right is at its worst, so sick and twisted and everybody better learn their lesson or two. Wish I’m going to sue the entire show including Drew, the models and producer Mike Richards. :-( :-(

  • Warren

Isn’t that Lauren Fenmore in the picture from B&B. She is on Y&R now?

  • robert

Way to go CBS. Congrats to Y&R for being up big from last year.

  • Jon

Not surprising considering this is much less competition for soaps anymore. Isn’t there only like 3 or 4 left?

  • Jeff

Good job CBS, ABC, and NBC. All the soaps are up over last year in viewers and most of the demos. Could be better– of course. Could be worse– absolutely.

  • John

Excellent for TPIR. I was worried about adding male models, but Rob has been excellent.

  • Mike

Lauren has been back on Y&R for years now. It is where she started out and is back home.

  • steveb

I feel that LMAD has really improved. Wayne Brady is alot of fun and is a combination of excellent host and improv which makes the show alot of tn.

  • JayTN

I doubt that we would ever see these numbers, but since CBS allows its affiliates to air “Let’s Make a Deal” at either 10:00 a.m. (before “The Price is Right”) or at 3:00 p.m. (after “The Talk”), I would like to know if “Deal” gets better ratings airing before “Price” or after “The Talk”. One would think that “Deal” and “Price” would be more compatible than “The Talk” and “Deal”.

  • Sascha

Lots of PR hype here, but very little substance.

Ratings are still much worse than they were before CBS destroyed our favorite soaps with bad producing and writing.

“network television’s fastest-growing daytime talk show, THE TALK”

is a joke, because the ratings are still much worse than the ones AS THE WORLD TURNS got shortly before it was cancelled by CBS.

Another point: All those cheap shows have much worse ratings during the “summer break” (reruns), in contrast to soap opera ratings that tend to decrease much less during that period.

Of course, they will say: Yeah, you’re right, the ratings of “The Talk” are worse than of ATWT, but it’s only about half the cost. Well, if that’s supposed to be a plan for “growing fast” or growing at all, I must have missed something.
