    Rod D posted:

“Why do the Obamas pay only an effective rate of just 18.4%?

Because they gave over $150,000 to charity.

I suspect if you were as generous as the Obamas are to charity, your effective tax rate would be as low as theirs.”

So, Mr. D, I suppose you were defending Mitt Romney last year when he was paying essentially the same effective tax rate? Because we wouldn’t want you to be a hypocrite.

JT Kenny–you are talking from the 4th dimension. Everyone knows that the right wing GOP is AGAINST Medicare, Social Security and government programs in general–that’s one reason the GOP lost the last election. The GOP has NO plan for ANYTHING, especially as it relates to health. They are quite conntent with 100% increases in healthcare costs and want to see the oligopolistic healthcare insurance system continue to operate (free enterprise, you know). (Just like they want austerity for the economy–even though it is FAILING badly in Europe–record unemployment and negative GDP growth). Obamacare is a work in process–it has not been totally fleshed out yet. There have already been many changes for the better with Obamacare already: wellness programs and emphasis which will save hundreds of billions of dollars, elimination of pre-conditions, etc. Remember, JT–the GOP has been against all government type programs and they most certainly do not today support Medicare (vouchercare, maybe). The GOP has been taken over by right wing kooks, which will soon result in the split of the GOP into two parties. The GOP has NO plan for anything–not the economy, not jobs, not healthcare…NOTHING–that’s why they were defeated so badly…..

  • usa8888

This just in: the Dinosaur right wing GOP is costing taxpayers millions of dollars each year by refusing to let the govenment computerize gun records so they can faster trace weapons used in crimes. The right wing has the mistaken idea that this somehow preserves 2nd Amendment rights. No, it demonstrates the stupidity of the right wing (that’s why one prominent Republican referred to the GOP as “stupid Party”).

  • usa8888

Dave Sky: produce the hidden tax returns of Robme and show how much he has hidden in overseas tax shelters in order to evade taxes…how close to ZERO is his rate????

  • Chriscee

USA you need a pacifier…you’re whining like a spoiled little brat.

  • Chriscee

The Democratic Party’s richest and most loyal donors haven’t yet fully embraced the new nonprofit formed to support President Barack Obama’s agenda.

Celebrities, unions and top Obama bundlers were largely missing from Organizing for Action’s list of first quarter supporters, according to a list of donors released Friday.

Maybe they are all growing tired of the democrats and Obama’s Bull-sh**.

  • Chriscee

Ha!! David Corn’s stunt…BACKFIRES….his stunt is merely helping Mitch McConnell.

I hope a judge throws the book at Corn along with the two that did the recordings.

    Liberals are desperate!!

    % of income to charity:

    Romney 2011: 29%
    Obama 2012: 25%

  • MIKE36

Obama says he sympathizes with the 99% but has no problem living like the 1% with his taxpayer funded vacations every few months and his WH celebrity concerts at the taxpayer expense.

  • Chriscee

    @DaveSky

    Again…Obama….do as I say…not as I do…

    That is Obama’s motto…he’s the wannabe king….when he’s actually just a wannabe….

  • usa8888

    Right wing priorities:
    1) eliminate birth control and support the Personhood Amendment
    2) eliminate gun background checks so more criminals and lunatics can get assault weapons and murder more children and adults
    3) give big tax breaks to billionaires with yachts and private jets
    4) replace science with creationism and bible study
    5) eliminate Social Security, Medicare, the EPA, the FDA, the Federal Reserve, etc.
    6) embrace racism, bigotry and general backward thinking
    7) worship lunatics like Slimebaugh, Beck, Hannity and send them money
    8) attend the CPAC Comedy Convention
    9) watch Faux News–the propaganda arm of the right wing (bias 24/7)
    10) ruin the economy by cutting spending in a recession or depression
    11) Obstruction, obstruction, obstruction

  • Jeff

@Chriscee, no one sane believes you. Obama is the President, and you call him a wanna be, proves your depth of your stupidity. The only wanna be here today, is you, wanting to be relevant. You are such a baffoon!

Mitch McConnell has rallied the whacky right extremist. Those idiots already planned on voting for him. BIG DEAL. What he said about a woman not planning on running against him is real, and the independents and average voters are disgusted with Mitch. He has the lowest approval rating of any Senator in the nation and is under investigation as well for his remarks.

So take the champagne bottle and pour it over your head!

  • Bobbyv

Let’s start secretly taping all the politicians if that is the new standard. That might not be such a bad idea..

  • usa8888

The GOP turned out in force in the last election but lost badly in spite of the fact that the GOP ads were nothing but FALSE advertising and prevarications. There simply aren’t enough right wing kooks anymore to float a boat. And it’s simply because the right wing ideology makes NO sense and increasingly fewer people buy it–basically racist old white guys, anarchists and anti-government types, religious fanatics and backward thinkers–and this base is dying out. The GOP has disenfranchised women, Hispanics, blacks, younger people, and many upscale whites , etc. This will be the extinction of the GOP UNLESS it changes and becomes more liberal but the right wingers actually believe the bunk their leaders say (which is good for the dems but bad for the GOP’s life cycle. The only hope the GOP has is to suppress the vote and gerrymander the voting districts and continue to run lots of false advertising and prevarications….but this won’t work either because the American people recognize a dinosaur when they see one…..

  • Bobbyv

    US,

I think the founders were closer in some ways to the right than the left, at least in enough ways not to throw out the entire ideology

  • usa8888

Mitch McConnell must be truly disappointed. His main goal in the past 4 years was to do everything possible (ruin the economy, put forth no new substantive legislation, bad mouth everything Obama said, etc.) to defeat Obama in 2012–HE FAILED and I’m quite sure he is haunted by this failure in his dreams and every waking moment.
