Would’ve thought GH would go up more than that in total viewers!

Overall, ratings are still pretty good! DAYS needs to do something!

  • Sean

Total Viewers dont matter! 18-49 & Households matter! GO GH!!!!

  • jonboyelk

GH has pulled out all the stops and still can’t manage to consistently break that 3 million mark. But as long as ABC is happy I suppose its immediate future is secure.

  • RJ

General Hospital celebrated its 50th Anniversary on Monday, correct? If so, not breaking 3 million viewers is kind of a disappointment. Nonetheless, congrats on a big milestone.

  • JayTN

Oh no, look at all the GH “haters” coming out of the woodwork. Dumb David will soon be here to spew his standard bulls**t.

I’m still waiting on Dumb David to provide proof that I said total viewers don’t matter and that “only the 18-49 that matters” (posted by Dumb David on 4.11.13 at 3:46 PM; page 4 of the soap opera ratings for the week of 3.25.13 thread). I guess I shouldn’t expect an apology from Dumb David for putting words in my mouth because Dumb David is never wrong and always right…at least in his own little – emphasis on the word little – mind.

Either provide proof that I ever made the comments that you claim I made or shut up about it and apologize. However, pathetic losers like Dumb David never admit that they are wrong.

  • JayTN

Sean…GH is in the same position (#3) in every category you mentioned – 18-49 & Households – as well as total viewers. So, it’s pretty much a wash all the way around.

  • J

I like Days, they need to have these plans that everyone has been talking about start taking place.Kristen has a plan,John is thinking about having a plan,EJ,Sami,Will are planning to talk to Stefano,Chloe had so many plans to get Daniel,Vargas has a plan,Marlena wants in on John’s plan,Kristen’s paid mugger has a plan to get money from Victor.

  • Sean

@JAYTN They are getting AMAZING NUMBERS IN ALL THREE AS WELL. STOP BEING A HATER! GO GH!

  • Rob R

Obviously General Hospital’s comeback from year-ago ratings is stunning, but I actually did expect even better numbers for this particular week, given the pull-out-the-stops guest casting of long time favorites.

  • cass

the chew is getting better ratings the amc and days of our lives and lets make a deal is getting better ratings then gl

  • James

GH long term future isn’t great on ABC unless if ABC really wants to keep it. These ratings are good enough for another year or two I would imagine. If Prospect Park hits a home run or has just a minor success with OLTL and AMC online, GH probably heads over there at one point.

  • Greg

GH’s Nurses Ball was this week….hopefully we’ll see ratings going UP this week but we won’t find out about that until next Friday.

  • PatF

I don’t think that GH has anything to worry about right now.

And sorry but the logic that the advertisers care more about Y and R’s 890,000 viewers (18-49) versus the almost 4.7 MILLION (Total viewers)doesn’t make sense. I’d much rather be concerned about how many people see my product. Try to convince me otherwise.

  • me

Speaking of pathetic losers, we have now reached the point where people are arguing and name-calling automatically by themselves, before the person they’re complaining about has even appeared. Now THAT is pathetic. I guess the “TN” must stand for “Totally Nuts”.

  • JayTN

    @SEAN…Why don’t you SHUT UP?

Both you and Dumb David can turn an innocent comment into some kind of “hater” comment. I’m just using your own words to show how STUPID both you and Dumb David are. Both of you can use your BULLYING tactic on other people, but not on me. Both you and Dumb David must be very INSECURE and the future of GH since you immediately pounce on any comment that doesn’t heap praise on GH. If GH was really doing as WELL as you two idiots claim it is, you wouldn’t have to go around and BULLY people into believing it.

  • JayTN

@me…I guess you’re another pathetic loser. I guess you decided on “me” as your name because you couldn’t think of anything else. Now THAT is pathetic.

My comment for Dumb David is a continuation of a conversation started in the ratings thread from last week. Now, if I made the comment in that now out dated thread, he/she wouldn’t see it now would they? I guess I should dumb down my comments so people such as “me” can understand what I’m talking about.

  • Zac

Should see even higher ratings next week for GH with the 50th Anniversary. Those of you expecting more, note that this is a week behind.

  • Mike

Wow even down this week Y&R registered with over 700,000 more viewers than last year. Y&R has been bleeding viewers the last few years…losing over a million. I cannot believe that for 3 weeks in a row they have been up over 500,000 from last years.

Good to see their demos moving some too. I hope it continues.

  • Chrisann D

Wow I think GHs numbers are fantastic! They went up more in every age group and total than the other soaps! I like all the soaps and would love to see them all grow and stay on the air but if I HAD to choose my favorite it would be GH. I happen to love RCs style of writing…always have. So good job! Go soaps!

  • moshane58

Good Grief people we know really more people watch soaps then this being reported.Nielsen still is the same it was decades ago.Google it.GH is well over three million and higher but we can only go by Nielsen. One report it has the highest twitter account..What matters is all soaps need to succeeed.I may only watch GH but I want good ratings for all of them.Several website have reported Gh is higher then what is reported here.So lets all celebrate every soap and hope more are not cancelled for talkers or cooking shows. It can happen to any soap being cancelled regardless what a network says.We found out the hard way how they lie when they cancelled AMC and OLTL.I want the soap genre to remain on all of these networks.Alot of people watch all these soaps.
