…what part of explosive mass murder with flying limbs and blood letting mayhem doesn’t fit the dictionary definition of “TERROR”?

All crime with a victim fits the dictionary definition of “TERROR,” which is not the definition of an “Act of Terrorism,” for purposes of allocation of resources, prosecution, detainment, and due process procedures. Everything from murder to destruction of property or the taking of hostages can be an ‘act of terror’ depending upon: motive, number of suspects, and organizational affiliation.

This is most likely an “act of terror,’ as the government defines it, but it could also be a lone weirdo acting for reasons that only make sense to the sociopathic or schizophrenic, and given the information we have, I won’t jump to conclusions about motives or organizations, but we do know: there were two bombs, they very ‘low tech,’ and no group has taken credit yet.

Having said that, of course, for purely political reasons, were I in charge of the speech crafting, I’d still have jumped the gun and called it an act of terror; the sane segment of the population doesn’t give a crap about semantic BS and whether or not I’m being presumptuous with my word choices, while the Adult Baby segment of the population lives and breathes to complain and natter, so may as well just call it an act of terror and move on.

The media is useless. You have one reporting FBI has a suspect and another saying no suspects have been named. Someone is obviously lying. I have a feeling I know who not to trust for my daily dose of misinformation.

Tea Party Congressman Uses Boston Marathon Bombing To Justify Opposing Immigration Reform

If you’re looking for an example of a politician cloaking his cowardice in principle, look no further than Rep. Steve King (R-IA).
On Tuesday, less than 24 hours after the Boston Marathon bombing that left three dead and more than 150 injured, King gave an interview to National Review Online where he used the attack to justify his opposition to immigration reform.
    From the interview:
Representative Steve King of Iowa, a prominent House conservative, says Congress should be cautious about rushing immigration reform, especially after Monday’s bombing in Boston, where three people were killed.
“Some of the speculation that has come out is that yes, it was a foreign national and, speculating here, that it was potentially a person on a student visa,” King says. “If that’s the case, then we need to take a look at the big picture.”
On immigration, King says national security should be the focus now, and any talk about a path to legalization should be put on hold. “We need to be ever vigilant,” he says. “We need to go far deeper into our border crossings. . . .We need to take a look at the visa-waiver program and wonder what we’re doing. If we can’t background check people that are coming from Saudi Arabia, how do we think we are going to background check the 11 to 20 million people that are here from who knows where.”
To be clear, investigators still do not know who perpetrated the attack. The “speculation” King is referring to involves an apparent case of racial profiling, whereby a college student of Saudi nationality was tackled by bystanders because he was fleeing the blast. He “appears to have no connection to the case,” according to the Christian Science Monitor.
The five-term Iowa congressman has a long history of bombastically opposing immigration reform. He has compared immigrants to dogs and proposed an electric border fence to keep them out. He thinks hospitals should ask patients their immigration status before providing care, and even asked a publicly questioned a veteran in a congressional hearing about his immigration status. He’s also promised to sue the Obama administration over its deferred action directive to protect undocumented youth and has said undocumented immigrants will use voter fraud to take over America.

Mitch McConnell On Boston Bombings: Americans Have Become Complacent About Terrorism.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) in a speech on the Senate floor on Tuesday commemorating the Boston Marathon attacks said that some Americans have become complacent about terrorism in such a way that is reminiscent to the time before the 9/11 attacks:

MCCONNELL: On 9/11 we forever disabused of the notion that attacks, like the one that rocked Boston yesterday ,only happen on the field of battle or in distant countries. With the passage of time, however, and the vigilant efforts of our military, intelligence and law enforcement professionals, I think it’s safe to say that for many, the complacency that prevailed prior to September 11th has actually returned. And so we are newly reminded that serious threats to our way of life remain. And today again we recommit ourselves to the fight against terrorism at home and abroad.

It’s unclear exactly who McConnell is saying has become complacent regarding terrorism. If he’s referring to the U.S. government, intelligence and military officials have thwarted a number of attacks on the United States since 9/11. And the Los Angeles Times reported on Monday that U.S. counterterrorism efforts have all but wiped out the al-Qaed network founded by Osama bin Laden. Alternatively, is McConnell suggesting that “complacency” by ordinary Americans somehow contributed to the attack?

Mississippi’s Last @bortion Clinic Can Stay Open, For Now

A judge in Mississippi has ruled that Jackson Women’s Health Organization can stay open, for now.

A state law passed in April 2012 threatened to shut down the state’s last abo rtion clinic, which we recently profiled. But on Monday, US District Judge Daniel P. Jordan III granted a preliminary injunction blocking that law from taking effect, which means that the state cannot revoke the clinic’s license to operate.

The new state law requires doctors who perform abo rtions at the clinic to have admitting privileges at a local hospital. Given the politics on abo rtion in Mississippi, all of the local hospitals rejected the applications of the two doctors who work at the clinic, so the state Department of Health had begun the process of revoking the clinic’s license for non-compliance. The Center for Reproductive Rights, which is representing the clinic, asked the judge to prevent the law from taking effect, as it was impossible for JWHO to comply.

In a statement Monday evening, Nancy Northup, the president of the Center for Reproductive Rights, noted that this is just the first step in the legal battle over this law. “While the women of Mississippi may be able to breathe a collective sigh of relief today, this fight is far from over,” she said. “We will continue our work to see this underhanded attempt to ban @bortions in Mississippi struck down as a violation of women’s constitutional reproductive rights.”

Sometimes I think that we just have to many News Networks, Radio News, TV News stations that feel like they have to compete for the BIG Breaking news or BIG Scoop. They broadcast or publish anything and without checking the details first, put it on the air or publish it to be first.

BillBO is just as bad, I understand he went on another “Terror” word tantrum…lmao!

While most observers are witholding judgment about what caused the two explosions at the Boston Marathon this afternoon, right-wing conspiracy theorists already know what’s going on — the government did it and is going to pin the blame on them because today is Patriots’ Day, a special day in the militia movement.

Alex Jones, who has become the country’s preeminent conspiracy theorist, wasted no time. As with 9/11, Sandy Hook and other national tragedies, he sees the Boston explosions as a “false flag” attack committed by the government. The objective this time: Expanding the Transportation Security Administration’s reach to sporting events:

Our hearts go out to those that are hurt or killed #Boston marathon – but this thing stinks to high heaven #falseflag

    — Alex Jones (@RealAlexJones) April 15, 2013

Explosions at the Boston Marathon. Don’t that the FBI has been behind virtually every domestic terror plot in the US, as NY Times reported.

Tune in for OVERDRIVE bit.ly/AlexJoneLive #Boston – Just wait folks, #TSA groping you at sporting events coming soon

On his radio show, Jones speculated that it may have to do with the sudden drop in the price of gold, a favorite commodity of paranoids everywhere. “With gold plunging, what could this signify?” he asked rhetorically. He also noted that Boston has special significance in American history, and because it’s where one of the planes took off from on 9/11. “I said on air that they’re getting ready to blow something up. To fire a shot heard round the world like at Lexington and Concord, and then they do it at this same place on the same day!” he said.

As Alex Altman of Time noted on Twitter, “Today is Patriots’ Day, which has significance for militia movement. McVeigh bombed Murrah Bldg on Patriots’ Day in 1995.” Patriots’ Day, a civil holiday in Massachusetts, commemorates those battles outside Boston that sparked the American Revolution. The holiday is now celebrated on the third Monday of April, though the battles actually took place on April 19, meaning the two dates are often conflated.

In addition to the Oklahoma City Bombing, which occurred on the 19th, the date also coincides with the deadly raid on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas. As John Avalon wrote for the Daily Beast in 2010, the day has “emerged as a ‘Hatriot’ holiday for some anti-government activists and militia groups.”

This year, Patriots’ Day also falls on Tax Day, another important date for right-wing extremists. For all these reasons, Jones predicted that while “they might blame it on the Muslims, they’re going to blame it on the Tea Party.”

Conspiracy-themed message boards didn’t need to be asked twice to take the bait. “FALSE FLAG ALERT !!! Explosions at Boston Marathon!” one post said, “Boston False Flag Attack Right Now. Why Control! Next 911,” another read.
