    People trust FOX. CNN gets some “rainy-day viewers” when there’s a big breaking news event. Not many trust MSNBC.

    Ralph? I know you have worked in broadcasting as I have, how can the exec’s at MSNBC not be concerned about stuff like this? Has the rules changed that much over the years that these kind of numbers doesn’t warrant a 100% complete revamp?

    I do not mean this as a Putdown of MSNBC, it’s strictly a professional observation as someone who worked in the business.

    Wow, MSNBC got man handled badly. Fox wins in overall viewers and CNN wins the demo. That bad said my prayers go to all those effect by this haniouse act.

    It’s interesting that so many people on this site actually believe that Fox News is somehow relevant, or that a majority of people in America believe the junk that comes out of their mouths. Look at the numbers from the election: who won? And by how much. Nielsen ratings is a joke. Nothing but a bunch of old people have the boxes. You actually think young, progressive Americans sit at home watching the news on TV? Really? We get our news online. Get over it. You lost the election.

    Wow! MSNBC got crushed! I just don’t understand why people don’t tune into objective, intelligent, thinking like Tingles when there is breaking news.

    Monday afternoon, when the news of the tragic Boston Marathon bombing broke, more viewers tuned to FNC for updates than CNN or MSNBC.

    During the 3PM hour, Shepard Smith’s coverage drew 1.962 million Total Viewers and 542,000 viewers in the key Adults 25-54 demographic.

    At 4PM FNC continued to garner the most viewers.

    Hour the news broke: 3PM ET
    FNC (3:07-4PM): 1,961,000 total viewers (542,000 in 25-54)
    CNN: 970,000 total viewers (349,000 in 25-54)
    MSNBC: 435,000 total viewers (129,000 in 25-54)

    First full hour following the breaking news: 4PM ET
    FNC: 3,072,000 total viewers (874,000 in 25-54)
    CNN: 2,446,000 total viewers (868,000 in 25-54)
    MSNBC: 708,000 total viewers (217,000 in 25-54


    Life must suck when you’re in third place.

    I know that the anchors really are out of touch with what’s happing.

    MSNBC reflects very poorly on the credibility of the NBC news franchise..Did Brian William’s coverage preempt the regular programs on MSNBC??as it did on CNBC..

    Nice insult, Chriscee. I’ll try not to cry myself to bed tonight. If you truly believe that these ratings mean anything, then I’m guessing you relied on Rasmussen poll numbers during the last election. How did those numbers work out for R-Money? What a joke.
