    not really that surprising tbh..

news broke before 5pm when most people were still at work.. now not at all scientific..

but id guess that Fox has more viewers that stay at home all day while the average CNN viewer is still at work and only consumes the news in mass quantities when something big happens and most importantly when is most convenient for them to do.

your second reply regarding “a few hours later is not considered breaking news” comment just shows how dense you are. when something major happens people are not going to just leave work and go home in sit infront of their computer are they? last time i checked its 2013, your thinking with a 1980’s mind still my friend.. and again, like stated many times. 5pm-10pm CNN won. so ya fox won for 2 hours. cool story. high five..

In the first hour, I can absolutely say that those are viewers of breaking news.
In the later hours you have a mix of viewers catching the “news” for the first time on TV and also people who are looking for updates. If any one of you can tell me which portion of the viewers were seeing for the first time in the later hours, I’ll accept those as “breaking news” viewers and we can compare FNC vs CNN just on those first-time viewerships.

What does “most people” mean to you? Do “most people” choose cable news as the source for news when they get home?

When the news first broke, I turned to Fox. However, Shep’s constant personal contribution was just sickening. I won’t watch CNN and MSNBC is not an option. I switched to NBC news. As a person who received a degree in broadcasting and journalism awhile back, all news outlets are pretty sick. Give me Walter Cronkite anytime.

Sorry, Us people who were working tuned into CNN when we got home from our jobs! Most people on gov’t help from the south were home watching Fox News while us working folks were paying the bills.

CNN won the 25-49 demo but not the total number of people watching… FNC won that big time.
What a load of cr ap that CNN won primetime…not by a long shot!

This is sad because it looks like Fox and CNN once again jumped the gun and reported incorrect information about an arrest in the Boston Bombing case. This has happened several times recently (CNN initially reported that the SCOTUS voted against the ACA, Fox predicted the election of Romney, etc.) People will believe a lie (or what they want to hear) before they believe the truth. No wonder we are in trouble.

The Fox No-News group failed to cover President Obama comments concerning the Senate defeat of the Gun Control legislation. Talk about picking and choosing what to report on, Fox No-News Corp is nothing more than a comedy channel, The Five and Billy O with his all star panel of, Dennis Miller, Adam Carolla, Greg Gutfeld and McGurk from the Imsus show. Throw in Glenn Beck, Goldberg, Rove, Jessie Waters and all the other little Murdoch Mutants. Having all these intellectuals on his Show makes Little Billy O look like the smartest buffoon on Fox No-News channel. Fox is not a news channel it is a Joke and Anti-American!!!!!

  • TheBoss1

Are you saying that Fox News DID NOT SHOW President Obama’s Rose Garden comments after the gun bill failed? You’ve got to be kidding me. The defeat of the gun bill is BIG NEWS and Fox News failed to show the president’s response to its defeat??????

And this cable station calls itself a NEWS network?

    What a joke.

When are we all going to begin telling the truth about anything? I hope the new CNN Director can turn CNN around. The truth people is sure the numbers go up and they go down but FOX has won on consistant ratings for the last 10 or so years and that’s not changing as far as I can tell. This conversation has not chnaged since the last time I posted here in 2009. One could simply stay away for a year or two, come back and one won’t miss a beat. See ya in 2014.
