The Voice is getting better numbers b/c Christina is gone. She was so annoying and it made me almost quit watching. Glad it’s up so Christina can get off her high horse. I hope Shakira stays b/c she’s amazingly talented and has a good heart.

As for CBS, just dismal numbers. It actually makes The Following look good now!

purpledrazi I think most Latinos have moved on. As long as they keep Queen Sharika, they got me. Besides, they tried it already, and did quite well with JLO. She took there ratings higher than The Voice. But we all know what happen there. Heck do whatever you want with Adam and Blake. I could care less about them, just keep the Queen Sharila. i’ll kept watching. I also like Christina.

Jennifer Lopez takes credit first for Hispanic Tv ratings for no other reason than she is a scientologist. Loved the fact Americans were willing to tune in for current events by 8 mill. caring for our culture. Should we just idly sit by and allow the voice to take “Dancing with the Stars” or do we prorate
our viewing patterns? Bones and The Following are even. I am hoping for a shake- up & a shakedown sending Bones into retirement.

Adam Levine will be back on The Voice next season. He strategically planned his summer/fall tour to happen after The Voice audition tapings, perhaps even the battle round eps (I’m not sure if they film those right after the auditions or after the season has already begun airing). And then he’ll have plenty of time to get back for the live episodes. I don’t think Blake will ever leave, and god I hope he doesn’t. He’s one of the best parts of the show, and I’m not even a huge fan of his.

  • Justin121

Since The Voice will run into June, I think the next season should be bumped back to February.

  • Dan S

@ Justin121, The Voice can’t be moved back to Feb next year for 1 reason, the 2014 Winter Olympics.

  • Nick

It’s doing fine with 3 month intervals . . . there’s no need to push it back.

  • Mickey 1.0

I hope they move H50 to Tuesdays at 10 pm next year. I think it would be a great fit with the NCISes and there wouldn’t be that glut of competition between Castle, Revolution and H50, which appeal to a similar demographic.

I’m not fond of the move to Friday idea, though another poster pointed out to me CSI:NY survived for quite some time on Fridays.

I’m not too worried about last night’s ratings, it was special (and tragic) circumstances.

Funny how a show dips a bit in the ratings and it brings out all the vultures. Who then very often circle in vain for several seasons, as a little dip in the ratings does not mean a show is dead.

“Five is good considering the news coverage at 10pm. Expect it to go up at end of season.”

??? This is the “end of the season.” Most shows only have 3 or 4 episodes left.

Your definition of “end of the season” and someone else’s may vary. He may mean the very end–I’m spoiler-free but I heard they have a big finale planned that people are looking forward to.

A few of us actually DID want The Voice to run in both the Fall & Spring. I posted about it several times and I know that I wasn’t the only one. We were outnumbered, but we were here, and anyone claiming that no one was backing this strategy is wrong.

  • AO

Isn’t there a high probability that the NCIS: LA spin-off will be on Tuesdays?

  • Oliver

People complained about the plausibility of “Revolution”, but why not “Terror in Boston”? Why the hell would someone want to attack a marathon? So dumb. NBC needs better writers.

  • Jon

@ Oliver….that’s pretty cold man, and not funny at all.

  • Oliver

Why is it cold? It IS stupid.

You know what is cold? Having a primetime TV special, which serves to encourage the people who did this by giving them the oxygen of publicity and allows NBC to profit from other people’s misery. THAT’S cold.

Hawaii 50 has always been a flop. Surviving from a strong comedy block and weak competition for the first two years. With these two thing gone the show has shown what it’s able to do, nothing.
To wherever spot CBS moves it, the show will kill the night numbers for CBS.

  • Samunto

I think it’s safe to say that Shakira and Usher will be back latest in the fall if they want to. Especially Shakira who has been so well received and brings such warmth to an already feel-good panel.

I suppose Xtina will be back in the fall and Shakira in the spring. Cee loo remains to be seen. If his sitcom goes forward, he might completely stay out.

So, Xtina took off to tour…..i haven’t heard of any tour dates announced and didn’t even do a single appearance in Europe to promote her album – though i guess after it flopped big time stateside the record company wasn’t willing to pour cash into promotion abroad.

I think Mom would be a mistake on Monday. It needs the TBBT lead-in, and if CBS wants a single-cam block, it needs to go on Monday because they need some programming to create buzz against the reality crap on the other nets. I wish CBS would try a schedule like this:

    How I Met Your Mother
    Two Broke Girls
    Crazy Ones (NEW)
    Super Clyde (NEW)
    Beverly Hills Cop (NEW)

TBG needs to move back to 8:30 and undergo some cast changes (ditch Sophie and Oleg) to make it more of an ensemble show and prepare it to lead off the night when HIMYM concludes. Place the hour of single cams at 9:00, and have them lead into Beverly Hills Cop. To promote the new lineup, CBS could have Robin Williams and Eddie Murphy host the Emmys the night before their shows series premieres.

    Person of Interest

PoI should work really well with the NCIS’s.

    Criminal Minds

Keep this night stable to offset the risky moves elsewhere.

    The Big Bang Theory
    Mom (NEW)
    Two and a Half Men
    Mike & Molly
    Intelligence (NEW)

Chuck Lorre topped by Josh Holloway. Works for me.

    Hawaii 5-0
    Blue Bloods

This night should flow really well.

    60 Minutes
    The Amazing Race
    The Good Wife
    The Mentalist

With the sports overruns, this is the best schedule that CBS has at this time. It does really well in terms of affluent viewers, and comedies would be the only thing that could really turn the night around, but they have to develop a better stable of comedies to further expand that presence beyond Monday and Thursday. Just please bill next season as the final for The Mentalist so we finally discover the identity of Red John in the series finale.

As for the NCIS spinoff, proceeding with the NCIS: Red series at this stage would be a mistake. The cast is no where near where it should be in order for a spinoff series to work. Raver and Corbett just do not seem to have the necessary chemistry, and Scott Grimes was simply awful. I do like the concept though, so CBS should “kill” off the team in an upcoming episode of NCIS LA and introduce some new character that can recur several times during next season on both NCIS and NCIS LA. If these characters click, they could proceed with the Red spinoff in 2014 if necessary.

Does anybody else think the way they rate tv is outdated. We live in a DVR world now… I don’t watch shows live anymore. I might watch something like The Voice live while the kids are up and running around becuase I don’t have to focus as much on the show. Most of the time I don’t though because I just want to see the performances and could care less about the stories, and training part. However, shows that I really enjoy like 5-0, NCIS, NCIS L.A. I record and watch after the kids go to bed.

I also like Vegas. It is a shame that it wasn’t given much of a chance. Bringing Golden Boy on and toying with what night to bring Vegas back and then not premoting it at all just killed it altogetehr.

  • Justin121

If The VOice has to run two cycles a year, I suggest keeping Xtina and Cee Lo in the fall edition and Shakira and Usher in the spring edition.

Too many changes hurt Americn Idol.

  • Ryan Schwartz

Not that it’ll ever happen, but wouldn’t it be something if CBS said, “Screw Monday night comedies ––– we can do 3 hours on Thursdays and still be #1?” I’m sure CBS would do great with an all drama lineup Mondays.
