Revolution April 15

Due to last night's preemption, the Revolution episode originally scheduled to April 15 will air April 22. All subsequent episodes will be pushed forward a week, meaning that the season finale will now air June 3 instead of May 27. An NBC spokesperson told TVLine, "“The original episode of Revolution that was scheduled to air last night will air next week ( and all subsequent episodes will ripple accordingly. Viewers will not miss anything in the ongoing storylines.  The new season finale date for REVOLUTION will now be one week later on Monday, June 3 at 10/9c.”

    Too bad they cut two episodes from the order. Since it will air into June already, why not air two more in June?

  • Jeff (Canada)

    Yeah I read this on the Futon Critic listings last night. It makes sense, and it doesn’t really affect viewers. Ratings, on the other hand, are another matter.

    @JacobYates

    Might have something to do with production already being over on this show.

  • MichaelChickless

    Hmm, that might even be better for its ratings than ending on Memorial Day.

  • Fred

    Viewership levels in JUNE are low.
    The biggest fans will want to tune in live. But many will catch it on DVR, ON DEMAND, ON LINE etc….

    They still should’ve adjusted schedule to air in-season. (Moving two episodes to Tuesday at 9/8 after TV or during one of the weeks when TV airs for 2-hours to 10/9.) I don’t get NBC’s logic of out of season airing – didn’t work for Grimm, GO or whatever eles they aired in August to “capture” Olympic hype.

  • POIFanatic

    I don’t think the finale date matters that much.
    This is a show which got better day by day and is one of the best shows on air right now. I hope more people follow it from the midseason finale.

    How long does the Voice run…since it started in March the same time?

    This doesn’t seem like it makes since – but whatever – as long as they keep the show on and it maintains over a 2.1.

    Memorial Day & June dates don’t look good though. :/

    Ending in June means the finale will miss the May ratings book doesn’t it?

  • John

    ‘the TV season’ is such a construct in itself. I hope Revolution does well outside of the season and encourages more networks to better program their summers.

  • Michael

    Could this show survive on its own merits?

    “Ending in June means the finale will miss the May ratings book doesn’t it?”

    It already was going to do that. The season (and May sweeps period) ends May 22, the original finale date was May 27.

    I’m guessing this doesn’t happen. I’m pretty confident Ready for Love is going to continue to tank and NBC will rearrange a Tuesday and extend the Voice to 2 hours and have Revolution air an episode after it at 10. They’ll call it a “Bonus Night” or whatver dumb name these networks come up with.

  • Hardline_Pro

    Does this mean a Season 2 might not happen?

  • John

    Somebody has to say it…

    I’m pissed that NBC preempted Revolution for Boston bombing coverage. Anybody who wanted to see five minutes of actual information stretched out into an hour long newscast could have watched CNN, Fox News, and/or MSNBC. There was no reason to preempt entertainment programming on NBC.

  • JacobYates

    @hardline_pro
    Doubtful. It’s pretty much a lock already. It would take a drop to below 1.5 to keep it from getting a Season 2.

  • The End

    @Hardline_Pro

    Basically because of the Boston Bombings, this weeks episode was pushed to next week, and next weeks episode, the week after, yadda yadda ya. You get the point. It’s just pushing the episodes back a week and nothing more.

  • Jack Bauer

    Hope there’s still a better chance if REVOLUTION is on the verge of getting renewed for a second season (fingers crossed).

  • Dave

    The pre-emption came more from the content in Revolution’s episode than needing to have a news special for the bombing.

    (Spoiler)
    The last episode involved the start of a search for a bomb and would most likely escalate into something on this week’s episode.

    I think they thought having that on would be too soon for folks, so they pushed it and put on news programming instead.

    I have been much more impressed with the show since it came back from its mid season break…mostly because the female lead is growing on me..she was annoying at 1st but the actress has grown into the role I think.
