UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — April 19, 2013 — NBC is moving its drama “Grimm” to Tuesdays (10-11 p.m. ET) beginning April 30, behind a previously scheduled two-hour episode of “The Voice.” “Grimm” will remain in that 10 p.m. Tuesday timeslot through May 21.

“Dateline” will replace “Grimm” at 9 p.m. Fridays, beginning April 26.

It has not yet been determined when or where remaining episodes of “Ready for Love” will be aired.

Not sure why so many people think moving “Grimm” will hurt it. After the Summer Olympics ended, the first four episodes of the season aired Monday nights at 10:00 (with a pretty weak lead-in, “Stars Earn Stripes”, at that). “Grimm” did just fine. If anything, the stability proves that the show has a loyal audience. If that audience knows to find it in the new time slot, it will do just fine. If anything, it might do a little better with “The Voice” as a lead-in.

There should be no worries about the show’s future, either. Season 3 is a lock, at this point. And I’m hopeful that the syndication gods will make Season 4 happen.

I think NBC moving Grimm away from Fridays is a good idea. NBC tries to launch new series during the week particularly Monday at 10, Thursday at 10 and Tuesday at 10 and it never works.

Its about time that NBC puts established shows like SVU, Grimm, Parenthood or Chicago Fire in those slots. Its impossible to predict NBC’s schedule but hopefully none of those dramas land on Fridays.

Does anything think Grimm will be renewed?

  • Martine

I actually cried when I heard they moved Grimm to tuuesday. There we go. How could they do this after they had proof by moving it to monday that it does worse away from Friday?

  • Martine

Grimm will get cancelled if they don’t move it back to fridays. Don’t you get that, Dan? They already tried it on a monday. It does BETTER of FRidays.I hate this. If they ruin this show I hope they rot in hell. I don’t think Networks realize how much goodwill they lose, and its kind of obvious they are trying to kill it. It works on Frioday. Why not leave it there?

  • Martine

Plus the VOice is the worst possible lead in for a sci fi show. None of those people will watch a quirky show like Grimm. And 10 is very late. I go to bed at 10. I have to get up. So do most people I know.

  • Martine

Has everyone forgotten how Grimm slid in ratings on a monday at 10?

  • Martine

Anyone who doesn’t feel scared for Grimm moving is lying if they say they are a fan.

Grimm was doing pretty good on Friday. I wonder why NBC pulled “Ready For Love, a 1.5 is pretty good by NBC standards.

  • Rebecca

I wish it wasn’t moving from Fridays. This household goes to bed by 10 pm and while Grimm will air at 9 here we just can’t watch it the same night it airs if it is on any other night. So we will save the DVR recording and watch on Fridays or Saturdays anyway. NBC better renew.

Fantastic schedule. I love how Whitney and Go On, but 1.1 shows, are on your fabulous schedule but you peg one of NBCs biggest shows, Revolution, and likely to be canceled.

Wow, you are so good at this. Do a Fox one where they cancel Bones but keep Touch!!!

  • Jay

This is a bone-headed move! The reason Grimm is doing so well is that there’s nothing else worth watching on Friday. Tuesday night has other shows doing well. Maybe not on ABC, but there is a lot of competition that they don’t need!

  • Chantal

Booo! Grim is the only show I watch on NBC . Leave it on friday .

  • billtoo

NBC website has the episode that should have aired last Friday listed for this coming Friday. It was preempted by the capture of the remaining Boston bomber “suspect” on the East Coast and replaced by a rerun on the West Coast. TV Guide website still has the subsequent episode listed for Friday. What the ….?

  • Chris

Have they ever heard of if it’s not broke don’t fix it.

  • Geegee

Wow! Getting as bad as Fox! Screwing with good shows !

  • Susan

*sigh* I really like Grimm. The move to Tuesday means I won’t be able to watch it anymore. Way polarize your fan base. Why not move Hannibal to 10 and keep Grimm in a 9 time slot. Grimm is more family friendly.
