Actually the entire CBS Daytime lineup gets a lot of press Robert S. It’s the most solid of any of the networks, and most ratings rich. The only aspect that is lagging is it’s Morning News show, however with Today going to crap, I’m sure it’ll pick up some viewers as well.

I see a lot of press for the CBS daytime as far as the Talk and Price Is Right. Soaps in general don’t get a lot of press at all sadly.

Ugh! Y&R got rid of Blake Hood for…..THAT?!?!!!!

As far as soap press nothing has changed much there in the last 30 years. GH and Days have always been the media darlings within the soap world. I mean they couldn’t even give Guiding Light a front cover the week it was cancelled or went off the air. And it had been on the air for 72 years total.

The CBS soaps esp. B&B have never had much of an online presence either.

They just appeal to a more general audience which at one time was an older audience. But both Y&R and B&B have improved their younger demos in the last year too.

But B&B still has not developed a big online presence. It is just not discussed much at all.

Both CBS shows have nothing to worry about as far as the ratings go currently. The other two shows while stable…need to continue to find ways to get their share up consistently. There have been many days where both are below 2.0 (total viewers) and that’s not a good place to be.

Another recast on Y&R ALREADY, Seriously???? I thought Blake was a perfect Kyle, not seeing what’s so special with the new one…. They need to re-name this show “The Avery/Dylan/Chelsea/Leslie/Tyler and the Rest of us” show…. I do like the way the Phyllis character is written. Most all, if not all, of her scenes are written with intensity and PURPOSE. This character doesn’t seem to be constantly shown having the same conversations over and over again like the way everyone else is written. Now if the rest of the show could be written that way….. Can’t wait to see the first on-line episode of OLTL Monday.

    Give Hartley Sawyer a chance…………………that’s y’all problem!
Never really warmed up to Blake Hood anyway!

  • PatF

There wasn’t a need to recast Blake Hood. Too bad. He had a lot of fans already, and over at cbs.com there is a big outcry against the recast.

The new guy is so different it is jarring.

Ratings for the next 2 weeks will probably be down. Last week we know lots of preemptions. This week at least here in Massachusetts lots of preemptons.

Days Of Our Lives has not been on in its regular time slot 5 out of the last 7 days for obvious reasons.

As I stated last week GH most days was moved to the ABC affiliates sub channel me tv

This week again GH preempted on Monday moved to late night. Then today the first 20 mintues was preempted.

I am not sure if the preemptions have been everywhere this week I know there was a lot of places last week so will be interesting to see but bet we will see lower ratings for the next couple of weeks due to all the preemptions
