Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

  • Andrea

Don’t people here read Renew/Cancel? What’s with the OMGZZZZZZ it’s going to get cancellllllllled!!! posts regarding shows like Hannibal?

Sorry, just making a grammatical correction.

  • John A

TVD down. It should bounce back next week. Not too bad for BATB. It looks certain for Renewel. It will be funny when its renewed TSC fans heads will exploade.

  • alim

Errm am assuming that american idol viewership is wrong

  • Dillan

TVD has reached a 0.9 before in the overnights, but it adjusted up to a 1.0 in the final ratings.

  • KarenM

If Hannibal can’t beat bad shows like Elementary and Scandal oh well…

  • Laura

To people asking, yes this is a series low for TVD. It had never fallen below a 1 until now. Hoping for an upward adjustment though!

  • Sarah

    Glee down. :)

“How did AI get 6 mil when the half hours were 11/12 mil”

American Idol total viewers has got to be a mistake, right?

Some of the table numbers are jumbled. Sara will fix them ASAP.

  • Vanessa

Great numbers for a repeat, POI

  • TV Viewer

Wow CBS! Repeat episodes most watched in 18 – 49 as well as total viewers. Getting better results than original episodes on the other networks.
Let’s see the spin ABC, Fox and NBC put on their press releases for the night.

  • TimsDale4ever

BIG BANG does better in repeats than most other original run shows. Amazing! I do believe that show has a chance to set a new record for longest running scripted TV series.

  • Seth

Excellent for American Idol and Hannibal. People are forgetting how low ratings are these days. These are solid ratings.

  • Aljosa Mudri

    Series low for TVD.. :(

  • Michael1

So, approximately 700,000 AI viewers between the ages of 18 nd 49 chose not to watch “Glee”, and coincidentally, they were replaced by approximately 700,000 “Glee” viewers over the age of 50. I never knew “Glee” had such an appeal to the over-50 crowd. I guess you learn something new every day.

  • Max Vrany

Hannibal will be renewed at that level, but any lower is pushing it, even on NBC.

  • juliedawn

Okay I’ll happily take the steady .6 for BATB!

  • BigBrotherFan

Geez Hannibal is a REAL HIT! *rolls eyes*

Zero Competition and got it`s BUTT handed to them by POI.

If NBC has any brains they`ll move it.

Looks like people are just turned off by the no name cast.

  • samurai99

Pretty bad fall for Hannibal, but it’s still a likely renewal with those numbers, especially in spring.

  • Mike

    Hate Hannibal numbers.
But POI,one of the best cbs shows, did great for a repeat, better numbers than Golden Boy and similar to H50 Originals.
