Due to the nature of live programming the ratings for FOX (UFC) are approximate and subject to more than the typical adjustments in the final numbers. See below for more information on these Fast Affiliate Ratings.

FOX was number one with adults 18-49 and with total viewers.

On FOX, UFC: Henderson vs. Melendez  earned a 1.5  adults 18-49 rating down 17 percent from a 1.8 for the previous UFC on Fox on January 26.

On CBS, a special Saturday episode of Vegas scored a 0.5 adults 18-49 rating down 38 percent from a 0.8 for last week's Friday episode. The majority of you accurately predicted that it would beat Smash - though the margin of victory was a slim tenth of a ratings point.  48 Hours earned a  1.0 down 17 percent from last week's 1.2 adults 18-49 rating.

On ABC,  Bet on Your Baby earned a 0.7 adults 18-49 rating up 17 percent from a 0.6 for last week's premiere.

On NBC, Smash tied its series low with a 0.4 adults 18-49 rating, even with last week.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Vegas is consistant alright. When it aired on Tuesday 17-19% of the audience was in the demo. Very old skewing show. When it moved to Friday it fell to the 15-16% range. Now it’s 14%. It’s interesting to see how it got a million viewers over UFC, but a third of the demo. Also, interesting note. Ben and Kate, Raising Hope, and the Mindy Project have all gotten a rating below AFC this year on either a Tuesday or Thursday Night. (Glee also got a 1.5 on Thankgiving Day, but that’s to be expected. Even Modern Family got a 2.5 rating on Thanksgiving Eve). It seems only sports or similar programming can do well on a Saturday.

Those are pretty bad ratings for the white trash UFC when they are going up against the crap that was on the air with reruns and bad shows. Only 3.3 million viewers? Their ratings on FX with the reality show really sucked, too.

I watched about five minutes of the show and it was really, really boring and turned it.

Bet on Your Baby is the next Shark Tank ;)

  • forg

And wow 3 pages for a Saturdays ratings! ;)

Vegas was aired on Saturday because of all the Friday night Boston news speculation. Vegas and Orphan Black were good original Saturday shows.

  • Jonathan

So sad…was such a great episode of Smash!!!

  • thesnowleopard

Ouch at Vegas. It’s a pyrrhic victory to win over Smash when even a repeat of The Mentalist on the same network does better. Vegas’ fate doesn’t depend on beating other dead shows walking on other networks.

“Those are pretty bad ratings for the white trash UFC when they are going up against the crap that was on the air with reruns and bad shows. Only 3.3 million viewers?”

Got it. You’re not a fan. I’m not either but I’ve actually been impressed that this many people watch it regularly. This show will probably finish at closer to 4 million when the final numbers are in but the thing that impresses me the most is that it not only usually wins its timeslot in Adults 18-49, it often doubles the next closest network show.

My Tivo picked up the Voice instead of Smash. Again.

Smash was terrific. NBC must be allergic to marketing a quality product. I can’t help but wonder if the NBC Programming Dept. isn’t run by monkeys. No, wait. That would be an insult to monkeys. But seriously, congratulations to the uber-talented cast of Smash. Maybe the Glee folks can move to New York and incorporate Karen, Jimmy, and their friends. Just sayin’.

I didn’t even know that Vegas aired on Saturday… Guess I’ll have to catch up on the web.

I hated TRASH !!! That is what I thought of SMASH !!!BORING !!! I suffer thru the Disney channel with my kids on Saturday !!!

  • Lambrusco Jackson-Green

    Literally EVERYTHING beat SMASH

  • Brain Smasher

I think this UFC event will finish with 4.2-4.6 million viewers when the final numbers come in. Out of the final 3 fights. 4 of the 6 fighters were California fighters. The other 2 are Arizona and Vegas. And the West Coast hasn’t been counted yet. Another factor. UFC events tend to climb pretty rapidly all the way to the end throughout the main event. Well this main event lasted 25 minutes. Giving more time to for the numbers to climb compared to a quick fight. I wouldn’t be shocked to see 5 million viewers.

I did go back and watch vegas online… It was the best episode yet, and the story just keeps building… I can’t believe that more people would want to watch garbage reality shows and shows about serial killers instead of a show with a great story line based on the real life story of Sheirf Lamb… I guess there isn’t enough sex and violence in it.

  • Trudy Speigner

This past Saturday night’s “Smash” was amazing. Singing was amazing. So love this show.

  • pat

I am not in the 18-49 age group so I appreciate the fine acting, singing, etc of Smash – one of the few quality shows on TV this year. the aforementioned age group wants vampires, gore, and gutter language, so bye bye, Smash, and take all that style, talent, and great music with you! I,for one, will sorely miss you !!!!!!!

  • margie

SMASH is such a good show 8PM sat nite is a bad slot B on Y B IS more reality trash allowing the networks to be cheap and pander to simple people.
